Perfect Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

- Perfect Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate baking bar, chopped
2 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon espresso powder
Place the chopped chocolate bar and 2 tablespoons whipping cream in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until melted. Set aside.
 In a mixing bowl, beat the butter for five minutes. Then slowly drizzle in the 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream and whip until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, if needed.
Sift together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and espresso powder. Slowly beat this into the butter/whipping cream mixture.
Add the melted semi-sweet chocolate bar mixture, and whip until light and fluffy. If needed, drizzle in another tablespoon or two of whipping cream to make it a better spreading consistency, but do not add too much extra cream, or it will be too thin!
Frost the cooled brownies.

I watch several cooking shows, and this one has become one of my very favorites. I like the way you show all ingredients, the amounts, and precise instructions with lots of tips and tricks thrown in. Love the husband and wife team. Great job! And I agree with your daughter -- it's impossible to have too much frosting.

@@marylouisehenley8396 - This was the very first video I ever watched of their channel and when he had not “taken a bite” in the end I had almost decided to not watch any more of the channel’s videos - but decided to try one more but skipped to the very end to see it they cut a piece and took a bite. Lol! I can’t believe it meant that much to me - for them to cut a piece and take a bite! 😋 I have since subscribed to their channel and enjoy their videos very much! 🥰

This frosting recipe make me think of a birthday cake my SIL made me. She frosted the cake by putting a pkg of instant chocolate pudding into whipping cream and whipping it. Now, I hate frosting that frosting was sooo good that I make it now.
I’ve only just recently learned that beating that butter a good length of time at the start really makes the creamiest, fluffiest, most delicious frosting! ❤

@@bernadettewidmer we tasted the frosting on a spoon. You’re right about the brownies. It didn’t really occur to us that we hadn’t tasted them on the video. But once we did when our friends were with us, they didn’t last long!
I know, I watched the brownie recipe and the frosting thinking he was going to taste it. I was somewhat disappointed. But it does look good. That seemed to be a lot of frosting though. I wanted to see what it looked like cut. But the recipe sounds sinfully good.
