Thx this helped me tonight. I scaled the recipe back, because I only needed a little. I used 1 stick of butter 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Instead of vanilla extract I put 1/4 cup of coca powder and it turned out soooo good!! And I didn’t have powdered sugar so I used regular and it was still amazing thank you so much
Another quick way to soften it is by cutting it in the tablespoon cubes or thinner and just put it all around your bowl. It softens super quick that way. This is the same kind I make. Soooo good.
I love you😭 every other recipe takes other ingredients I don’t have at home but I have all of this!! Thank you!! Ingredients: -16 Oz butter= 4 sticks= 2 cups -32 Oz powdered sugar= 4 cups -1Tbsp Vanilla extract Whip room temperature butter until it gets fluffy and more white than yellow. Add powdered sugar in intervals. Mix. Then add the vanilla extract when it’s mixed. Enjoy!❤️ Lasts refrigerated for 1 week from personal experience! 💯
I started making cakes with my wife as a form of couple therapy years back. I have never made icing because (its my wife's thing) but I got a order and didn't know what to do. Saw this and made a game plan. Thanks I didn't have to use it but having the information saved me from stressing.
I just made this it is delicious. My husband loves all cakes boxed cakes grocery store bakery and he loves buttercream I on the other hand am picky I cannot eat too much sugar and store bought cakes make me feel bad, but this buttercream I can eat. I made my first ever cookie butter cake with this frosting and my husband said it's a 10. Thank you so much! tomorrow is my bday and he normally makes me a cake but not this year I'm making us 2 individual cookie butter cakes. You made my bday so thank you again 💝
I tried this buttercream recipe and it turned out sooo smooth 😊😊 it actually resembled swiss meringue. I made a second batch and added melted chocolate chips to create a chocolate version and it was still smooth. I Love it!🥰🥰🥰
Just made this and made in a small portion and it turned out so good. The taste is amazing. I used 1 stick of butter to 8 ozs. of powder sugar and i tsp. almond extract and it turned out great , Nice smooth and spreadable. Thanks 👍👍
Is really appreciate all the clarifications (measurements, when to add, room temp or not) because so many of these other videos skip thag and its so aggravating when your trying to learn for the first time!
This is THE BEST buttercream frosting !!!!!! I made it last night with cupcakes , my family devoured them . I will be making these cupcakes for my cousins shower . Thank you so much
Hi 🙋, I used to loooove baking (still do) but I don't as much anymore. I've had severe back problems for many yrs now so bending over decorating cakes is very painful for me and I do miss it. I've been told in the past "you should sell your cakes" but I'm just not the hustling type of person and people tend to complain a lot and I just don't have the patience for people's attitude. I'd much rather give them out for free and make them when I FEEL LIKE IT. All the best to you and your business. Yo go girl !!!
I'm the same way Lisa. I worked in food service all my life practically and I'm retired now. I, too, live to bake and I don't do it ad much as I used to as I have back problems too. Whenever I do make a cake, I sit down and decorate it. The bending is really rough on the back. 🥰🥰
I have a question!!, 16 oz of butter, 32 oz of powder sugar and 1 tbsp of vanilla extract… how does that weight all together? Does it make a different before and after you mix it?
I don’t own a stand mixer, can I use a hand mixer 😊 thanks for sharing 😊is this butter cream sweet to taste 😊Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year 😊
Thank you for sharing. I love how you are honest about the butter and powdered sugar...in that you're not pushing an expensive brand. It's good to see someone being thrifty and sensible with grocery costs. Is the F2 tip/nozzle the same as 2F please? Do you have a link please? It looks like the 1M tip in the video but I could be wrong 🙂 x
If you are in the area of the country that has Aldi stores I would not recommend powdered sugar from them. It is more granular and even sifting did not make it powdery enough that I wanted it in even normal buttercream frosting.
Depending on the butter you use depends on how fast it melts in your hands when you pip and then the colours gets messed up it has white chunks of melted butter though it
I like a lighter sweetness to frosting and buttercream tends to be too sweet tasting the older I get-although I could eat it by the spoonful in my younger years. I will still try this recipe for gatherings. With that said do you have lighter sweetened recipes that you can still pipe with?
The thing is I have to admit I'm not very good at baking so I usually just get the box mixes. They taste pretty good (only get them for my son since I'm not a big fan of cake) but with the frosting (whether its the powdered stuff or the ready-spread), it's always either too sweet or is just lacking or there's not enough of it. So I always try to make my own frosting, that way I can switch it up a bit. The best one so far was the red velvet cake with the chocolate swiss meringue buttercream.
I have a extract vs emulsion question btw. Is there a big difference between the two for recipes? I Found a peppermint patti recipe that calls for pepperment EMULSION... but on a tight budget for the moment. I crochet but am looking to expand with some baked goodies, so in experimenting mode right now! 😊❤🎉
It looks delicious... can I frost a cake with this buttercream frosting... i am making a cake for today (mother's day) but wanted to try to your lovely frosting
Oh yummy!!! If you’re using a strawberry purée or something similar, add it in slowly and make sure it matches the temperature of your buttercream so it doesn’t break!
I found this very helpful I am definitely gonna try this out for my father’s birthday cake . Also quick question how much butter and powdered sugar would I need to make half of this recipe because I am making a two layered cake that are both nine inches each but I am only filling the butter cream on top and in between both. Would this recipe be to much butter cream just enough or to little . ❤ New subscriber
Oouu how did it come out? I’m also doing the same thing! Making a heart cake with two 9 inch round pans! And for half it would be half of everything; so instead of 16oz of butter it would be 8oz of butter (2 sticks) which is 1 cup of butter. For powdered sugar instead of 32oz it would be 16oz which is 2 cups. And instead of 1tbsp of vanilla extract it would be 1/2tbsp of vanilla extract 🥰
@@YungDeath7220I don’t know if she used the whole bag but probably. It for powdered sugar (That bag/brand) I’ve seen that it was around 7.5 for 32oz, so around 3-4 cups of sugar would be for half of it I think 💕
Yes, while some walmart products are a little cheaper they do not have the best quality in products or taste. You have to do a taste comparison to see and taste the difference. I'm not much of a walmart brand fan. My taste buds gets quickly insulted by the poor quality taste of their products so I have to spend a little more to please them. 😀 There's only a few of their products my taste buds will tolerate. 😄I bought Fleischmann's until they took it off the shelf and so I went with Land' o Lakes. Surprisingly the margarines taste better than wm brands. Again, my taste buds won out. I use Wilton's buttercream recipe before they started adding shortening for that pure white look. It is similar to yours and let me tell you that frosting comes out perfect every time! So happy to have found it. Thanks for the upload. Great video.
If you are truly concerned about quality... I don't know why you would eat margarine. It's 1 molecule away from being plastic. It's awful for your health & doesn't taste good either.
Unfortunately most of my clients think American Buttercream is too sweet so I’ve been using meringue based buttercreams. This recipe is awesome though.
I totally understand! I use both as well and like you said most do prefer the meringue based, but there are still a few that prefer this sweeter version!

How much buttercream do you think I would need to make a two tiered cake? I really would love to try this recipe for my order tomorrow!
Depends on how you fill your layers, but this would cover a 6” cake for me. I would double or triple the batch depending on what size your tiers are.
Thank you for the recipe,if you want to add color what time do you add
Thank you for posting! Will try it this week

How long do you whip the butter
Is it stable for long time or it will melt with heat
So you don’t need to put any milk or creamer to make it silky or smooth?
berapa lama boleh simpan buttercream tu and boleh ke kita spreed dekat atas kek ?
Hi, I love this recipe!!! Do you have a cream cheese version?
I do! I need to get it written out so I can share it.
@@TheStationBakery Yay! I can’t wait to try it!

Can I add food coloring?? ❤

CAn I please have your dream cream frosting recipe?
Yes it’s in my website www.thestationbakery.com
Walmart for the win😅 how would you make frosting with mascarpone?
You should sift the icing sugar.
How much does it serve? For cupcakes
I just need enough for a 9 inch bundt cake. How much of the ingredients should I use?
OK so I made this but it still tastes like powder sugar instead of a typical buttercream what can I do to make it better
So easy thanks
Great tutorial! What brand scale are you using?
It’s from Walmart!
How are these in the heat?
Need to add milk 🥛 to thin it out alittle
Helpful, thank you
Can we add cocoa to this wonderful buttercream? 😍
Melted chocolate will taste better and better texture
Or u can even add cocoa with melted chocolate to added flavors
Yummy!!! About how long do you whip your butter?
A lifetime! 😩 jk 😆 for a couple of minutes just until it lightens up
Use top of line butter it's better tasting
How did you put the piping tip in? Did you put the original bag into a bag with a tip?
Yes, that was a mistake but i cut the first bag then slipped it into the second with the piping tip.
Thank you!!
You’re so welcome!
How much vanilla extract did you use ??!!
I used about 2 tsp but it’s really to taste. Some times I use a tbsp or 2 depending on how I feel lol
