    I really appreciate this video. This is the exact intake that I've been leaning towards getting.
    We still need to see more of the AW11. :)

    Thanks for this video Jim. I just ordered the snorkel since I have sxth intake.

      It's great that these work with that too. Did you have to let them know that you have a SXTH intake? Does it have a different piece without the port that goes to the flap or does it come with a cover or plug?

      @@jimsgaragetoysthey note on their website specifically about the SXTH intake that if you have it you only need the snorkel. All the other items are for use with OEM box.

    Hey Jim, the gloss is from a chemical process called vapor smoothing, which is done to selective laser sintered plastics as a way to melt and smooth the outer surface, which helps seal it and prevent air leaks.

      Thanks for the info, I still wish they did a matte finish over it. I imagine that many people will end up painting it a matte black. I may try that too.

    The stock air intake on my circuit, didn’t have that gap like the core, I opted for the GR brand for my intake.

    • @jimsgaragetoys
      @jimsgaragetoys  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting, I've seen other CE and Cores that had the gap too. Not that it mattered since the bottom and sides were wide open on the OEM piece too allowing hot air in.

    Jim, thank you very much for making this comprehensive video and for the honest feedback. We truly appreciate it! Our instruction manuals can be found at the bottom of all product pages, as well as on the “Instruction Manuals” page on our site; we apologize for any confusion! We will take the matte color option into consideration, too. Once again, thank you!

      @@velossatech113 I looked on the instruction manual page and the GR Corolla wasn’t listed, only the standard Corolla which has a completely different engine. I didn’t see the link on the product page until after the fact since it was at the very bottom of the page. I do love the product and I was just pointing out what seemed to be obvious misses even though they are smaller things.

    • @jimsgaragetoys
      @jimsgaragetoys  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've driven it about 40 miles so far but I haven't put it through its paces. I expect to notice a small difference though since it has shown increases in HP on the dyno and just getting colder air into it and not hot air through the flap makes a difference.

    • @jimsgaragetoys
      @jimsgaragetoys  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It doesn't sound any different than stock. The benefit is that it feeds cold air through both openings and more of it.

    Hi Jim,
    Thanks for this video! Around timestamp 14:11 you said you had a clip (for the left side fo the red piece - instead of going under and using a bolt). Can you share which speicific clip that is, please?

    • @jimsgaragetoys
      @jimsgaragetoys  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I always have a selection of plastic clips that you can buy on Amazon and eBay. They are cheap so I love having a variety since I never know what I might need, just like in this case! I'll add the one that will work in the description so you don't have to mess with the long bolt. amzn.to/4cLudw1

      No, the design won't really allow water to get in unless you drive into water deep enough to submerge the intake.

    Literally the two parts you glossed over (seemingly on purpose) have taken me 40 minutes to figure out. The stupid ass reverse snap clip on the bottom of the airbox and the side grommet for the wire retention.

    • @jimsgaragetoys
      @jimsgaragetoys  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not sure what you mean by the reverse snap clip on the bottom of the air box. There is nothing on the bottom of the air box other than the pins that locate it and line it up. The side grommet for the wire retention is much like a lot of the other Toyota clips. You need to depress both sides and it will pop right out. I've taken that off so many times in different videos I've done that I don't give it much thought now. The first time you are removing any clip can be the trickiest but once you figure out how they work you will be fine.
