Completely agree. Musicianship is almost dead in todays popular music culture. Its now mostly about vocals and electronica. Not saying electronica is complete trash.. being a nerd from back in the 80's, electronic music was a goal simply b/c it was 'cool' to think that music could be generated via computer.. but it should have never replaced true musicians as the standard. Which rock or metal bands are not recording their music with real instruments? Pop music is trash and has been for a while. Madonna never went in the studio with a band. To this day, rock and metal bands still record like this.
If you were replying to me (No idea if you were or not) I am not aware of many bands in metal or associated genres that do not record this way except bands that fall under Industrial or Electronica (both of which I consider to be fringe metal/rock crossovers) Bands such as NiN and The Prodigy rely heavily on computer-generated sounds.. but even they both have some real instruments to accompany... and I do not consider Madonna a band.. she is a singer.. a performer.. an artist.. the 'band' are the (nameless?) musicians that play/record the music she sings to and may or may not accompany her on tour. @3:23 I know you said back in the day, plenty of groups still honor this more traditional method to this day. I appreciate you for acknowledging that fact..
Great song choice!!! I've never heard this song. I wasn't into metal myself but my son's father introduced it to me years ago. Now, I love it!! I don't remember if he ever sang this particular song but I would've loved to have heard him sing it. He was an amazing guitarist and vocalist. R.I.P. CABRON!!
I still recall being a teenager listening to this song for the first time back in the day. Metalica always brought quality material, even though I have always been a hip-hop head.
That is a Gibson SG double neck guitar with a 12 string neck and a 6 string neck. Jimi Page of Led Zeppelin and Alex Lifeson of Rush used them in the studio and live a lot in the 70s.
This is a classic Metallica PASS! My now 35yr old son worshipped Metallica.....BUT, he says he's still mad at Lars Ulrich over NAPSTER. There's a nugget for you!
Tell your son to get his shit together and try to see that whole thing from the artists perspective and to also let go of it after that because it's way in the past at this point.
Oh BTW, as for telling my son to get his shit together...he was one of those Marines that took Fallujah Iraq. He then went on to get a MS in Computer Sci. He's a Triathelete and a Spartan....you tell him to get his shit together. He'll clean your clock, stupe.
No, that was just off the top of my head. All lies. No one could have a son that good. And, if he did exist, he wouldn't give a rats ass about Napster, Lars, or you. You're a silly mess.
Some older stuff to check out. Spirit of radio - Rush Paint it black - The Rolling Stones Stargazer - Rainbow Painkiller - Judas Priest Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple They will not disappoint!
I really loved experiencing that song through you, seeing your reaction for the first time, beautiful. One of my very favourites. Much love from Scotland 🏴 Subbed 👍
The Guitar James Hetfield is playing with the two necks is a Gibson EDS-1275. The lower neck is a normal guitar neck with six strings, whereas the upper neck is a 12 string equivalent, with strings tuned in pairs an octave apart, except for the two high strings which are doubled at the same pitch. This gives a jangly sweeping sound as the strings aren't exactly in tune with each other. This birthed the effect known as Chorus, which can be recreated in various forms for various instruments, but originated in the doubled up strings of a 12-string electric guitar. Other famous users of the EDS-1275 include Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, Don Felder of the Eagles and Slash from Guns n Roses.
I may be a little late for this since someone might have already answered this, but... 4:23 = double neck electric guitar. Top: 12-string guitar Bottom: 6-string guitar
As a huge fan of both hip hop and Metallica, this video makes me so happy. It's great to see other people connect to their music like I do. This may be my favorite song of theirs. As for future videos, I think The Pot by Tool would be dope
Its a double neck guitar. The top guitar is a 12 string that produces different octaves of the the same note and the bottom guitar is a regular 6 string. Its typically only used for acoustic performances
The Music Video is, mostly, the band's rehearsal!!!!!!!!!!!! That's because there's no Kirk Hammett on the guitar, 'cause all job is done by James Hetfield (vocals and guitars), Jason Newsted (bass guitar and backing vocals), Lars Ulrich (drums) and live orchestra directed by Michael Kamen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pink Floyd is a absolute must if you want to hear some of the Greatest music ever made! Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Metal, Wish You Were Here! These are four of the greatest albums ever made!
Gibson EDS-1275 Double Neck Also seen briefly during the music video of “Nothing Else Matters”. The guitar looked pretty much stock, and James most likely used the 12-string neck to record some of the fills during chorus of the song. is the they used
4:23 Double-neck guitar. Pretty self-explanatory name once you think about it. They come in all shapes and sizes, but the one James Hetfield with the top one being a 12 string guitar is probably the most common. Probably not a guitar you're shred or do a distortion solo on, but probably something you'd do great acoustic rhythms on.
Metallica is amazing, and has lots of tracks worth listening too. I'd suggest Tool- Lateralus, Schism, Sober, I'd definitely recommend lyric videos. For country- Chris Stapleton- Tennessee Whiskey is amazing. Led Zeppelin- When the Levee Breaks, Immigrant song are good.
This was their first ballad song, most of their stuff is much faster and harder. Master of puppets, fade to black, one, and if you want to go in head first watch Creeping death from the 1991 live in moscow version
I remeber this song when i was 17 years old... a good friend of mine died on drug addicted in heroin. By his burial were close to 400 people, i nevr seen this befor and allready not after. Martin, i miss you my friend!!! Rest in peace where ever you are! The other song we played in this time was "Nur die besten sterben jung" von "Die bösen Onkelz".
I don't see any comments about it so that double neck guitar is a Gibson EDS-1275. One sexy instrument, it's essentially the big brother of the famous Gibson SG.
Which Rock song or Country song should I do next????🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ Drop it 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

@3:23 I know you said back in the day, plenty of groups still honor this more traditional method to this day. I appreciate you for acknowledging that fact..
Metallica ONE song is there best song I'll go as far as the greatest rock song ever brother
nah
Nie jest
Really a beautiful song man...deep from the soul.
"Somebody playing that for real", you wouldn't believe dude :D
Great song choice!!! I've never heard this song. I wasn't into metal myself but my son's father introduced it to me years ago. Now, I love it!! I don't remember if he ever sang this particular song but I would've loved to have heard him sing it. He was an amazing guitarist and vocalist. R.I.P. CABRON!!
plzzz react to metallica unforgiven
This song was my dad's favourite and it was his favourite band he past away when I was 3 so now it's a memory song
What kind of guitar is that?
Otto: "You know those guitars that are, like, double guitars?"
My name is Otto, I love to get blotto
I still recall being a teenager listening to this song for the first time back in the day. Metalica always brought quality material, even though I have always been a hip-hop head.
Plz the four horseman song from their first album young metallica also metallica is not a rock band its a thrash metal band
metal metalhead metal band, only one thrash album though.
@@Fertho get a sense of humor
Oh BTW, as for telling my son to get his shit together...he was one of those Marines that took Fallujah Iraq. He then went on to get a MS in Computer Sci. He's a Triathelete and a Spartan....you tell him to get his shit together. He'll clean your clock, stupe.
So despite all of that, he's still dumb enough to be mad over that whole Napster thing? I suspect lies. Do you even have a son?
No, that was just off the top of my head. All lies. No one could have a son that good. And, if he did exist, he wouldn't give a rats ass about Napster, Lars, or you. You're a silly mess.
My favorite band....I heard this song and never believed it was them....A dj on the radio had to tell be 😂....I bought the CD and fell in love
NIRVANA!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!
You know youre right or on a plane come to mind
Some older stuff to check out.
Spirit of radio - Rush
Paint it black - The Rolling Stones
Stargazer - Rainbow
Painkiller - Judas Priest
Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple
They will not disappoint!
James Hetfield is a badass. Dude has a PhD in astrophysics and is one of the greatest rock frontmen of all time
Think you're confusing him with Brian May from queen, bud
That guitar was a Gibson EDS-1275 double-neck 12/6-string. Same is used by Jimmy page of Led Zeppelin and Alex Lifeson of Rush...
I've been a MetallicA fan since 1996 and NEM still gives me goosebumps.
I really loved experiencing that song through you, seeing your reaction for the first time, beautiful. One of my very favourites. Much love from Scotland 🏴
Subbed 👍
You should react to The Black keys...Too Afraid to Love You. Love this band. ♥️
just found this channel and already love your reaction videos. just had to subscribe. greetz n beats from austria
That guitar (and this is late) is a Gibson EDS 1257. Top neck has 12 strings, lower neck has 6.
Whereever I May Roam is my fave Metallica song, SO GOOD!
*_Metallica - Atlas Rise_* is another song with video from their studio recordings. It is from their most recent album in November 2016. :>
Pink Floyd is a absolute must if you want to hear some of the Greatest music ever made! Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Metal, Wish You Were Here! These are four of the greatest albums ever made!
Gibson EDS-1275 Double Neck
Also seen briefly during the music video of “Nothing Else Matters”. The guitar looked pretty much stock, and James most likely used the 12-string neck to record some of the fills during chorus of the song. is the they used
I like your reactions a lot, please keep doing what you do!
I’m really feeling the mix of genres boss 🔥👌🏼🍀
Metallica is amazing, and has lots of tracks worth listening too. I'd suggest Tool- Lateralus, Schism, Sober, I'd definitely recommend lyric videos. For country- Chris Stapleton- Tennessee Whiskey is amazing. Led Zeppelin- When the Levee Breaks, Immigrant song are good.
Another really good song by them is "The Unforgiven". They are coming to town soon and I've already bought the tickets :)
This was their first ballad song, most of their stuff is much faster and harder. Master of puppets, fade to black, one, and if you want to go in head first watch Creeping death from the 1991 live in moscow version
This is one of the best songs of all time. I don't think I've heard a bad cover of it either.
I get goosebumps everytime I hear the opening to this song.
This was played at my mates funeral, always makes me emotional now
Metallica-Wherever I may roam!!!
