The intro was just slash doing some string skipping warmups before actually playing. The bassist likes it and started playing the intro bass solo, the whole band joined in and axl rose sang a poem in his pocket that he recently wrote. When he starts singing “where do we go now”, he ran out of lyrics dont know where to go next with the song

i love that music is such a universal language that no matter what it is and no matter what your background, we have an ability to "feel" it on a primal level. we can see this any time someone has a physical reaction to music heard, i.e. head bobbing.

This is the 80s “hair metal” type of rock. They had their hair also but not like the other bands with the hairspray and all. That’s Slash on the guitar btw if you know or heard of him. Axle Rose vocals. He has one hell of a voice box there.

exactly. everyone who played on AFD is among the greatest at their different craft. you just dont see that happen often. slash is heralded as the guitar force but izzy stradlin is one of the best rythmn guitarist to ever do it. look up some of his isolated tracks off his GNR albums. he was insanely good.

At first I was trying to hear any sort of "country" vibe in the song, because I've always thought it was one of the biggest classic rock songs... but when I focus on everything but the electric guitar in parts of the song, I totally hear the country inspiration!

Everyone talks about Slash's riff on this song (which I love BTW) but rarely does anyone talk about Duffs bass work on this track. It really brings the song together. If you don't believe me listen to someone play this song on guitar with no bass, it just doesn't pop the same.

Axel Rose has the most impressive voice in all of music. He can hit lower notes then Barry White and higher then Beyonce. At least 5 octaves!
He has an 8 octave range. There are only a few famous singers that have that ability but no one does it like Axl!

This song came out when I was in the 6th grade and it blew me away. I listened to this whole album 5 times a day for a year. Now I’ve graduated to the deathgrind genre after updating my musical tastes after I hit 40 years old.
The fact is he's usually hip hop but the fact he appreciates every form of music. It's inspiring to other people to delve into different genres.

There was a thing in the eighties called stadium rock. Bands like GNR, U2, Journey, etc would fill stadiums. So picture 60,000 fans singing, dancing....lighters lit swaying to the music.

Is just impressive how rock changes those days.. when you look back and see artist's as Axel rose, Slash one of the best guitarists in the whole world, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie... I mean music nowadays are like 50/50 because you have true talent singers and you have true auto-tune talent singers aswell... I can say that music between 70' and 90's were the best, and even the videoclips where more detailed and talented! I would definitely recommend Live Aid from Queen as one of the best rock music's in the world from GNR (Guns N Roses) the unique " November Rain ", oh and btw nowadays Axel Rose's voice sounds like Mickey because he gave 100% in all clips and lives, but that will not change anything, he is a PURE LEGEND! Their genre is hard rock/metal. Though personally I'd lean much more heavily towards hard rock than metal.
Slash is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. And when Axel isn't on drugs he's one of the best frontman. This song is classic and timeless. yo, laid back. this is the 90’s hard rock ballad. this CD was released at the same time as Terminator 2. 1989 release. This was the song that “broke” GnR into mainstream MTV rotation. GnR is very blues based, so the country comments make sense, same roots.
This song was released on appetite for destruction 1987 along with welcome to the jungle Paradise city and other bangers best selling debut rock album of all time
Terminator 2 was 91, and you're thinking of You Could Be Mine. But everything else 100% correct.
I love getting to experience this for the first time again with you, but I have to say without you getting the personality and members of the crew you do lose some of the magic with these bands with setpieces and personality.

I was listening to November Rain with my dad earlier this evening and mentioned that Slash was the only guy I ever heard that could just make the guitar sing... like a scream but so melodic... so much more so than any other I'd ever heard.
