@@LiegeMaximo the connector? I did it. I didn't take out the battery though. Just unclasped it from It's power source which is a good practice for when your working on anything. If you disconnect the battery you have less of a chance of creating an electrostatic charge and frying something, In my opinion.

As one tech to another I should suggest you add one thing to this sort of video my laptop is a gaming 15 DK and the four screws in the back if you look closely are NOT the same length! so when a user removes screws from a laptop like this, they should lay them out next to the laptop in the same pattern so that the same screw goes back in the same hole... I use a piece of tape that I stick the heads of the screws on so that way they stay where I put them

I had 2x4gb in my son's laptop and just replaced one of those with a 16gb stick for a very low cost upgrade to make 20gb running at 3200. If it was my gaming desktop, then I'd put in 2x16gb to max dual channel performance, but for this laptop the 4gb+16gb is fine. Performance dramatically increased, Minecraft loads in the blink of an eye and according to the old Heaven benchmark on max settings... 8gb = score 668 & 26.5 fps vs 20gb = score 1092 & 43.4 fps.
you explained every step as if you were talking with a layman if i showed this to a non-tech savvy person (but with the corrrect tools) they would be able to upgrade their laptop by themselves kudos for you!
very helpful. I had another HP with the same type of ram so I just stripped it out of that and put it into the one I wanted to use. handy placeholder until I upgrade the ram much further.
You get the added bonus of going from 8gb single channel ram to 16gb of dual channel ram by adding a 2nd stick. Dual channel ram has twice the data transfer speed (Bandwidth).
