Sure, you can add 8GB more. You'll not only benefit from more RAM, but also Ryzen processors work better with dual channel RAM (which is having 2 RAM sticks inside)
also I wanted to ask . What is the difference between HDD and HDD with data recovery? Does it mean when accidentally deleted important files from the HDD it can be recovered or does it mean if I deleted it will go to the recycle bin first?
How different are the models of this type? As I have the one with white keys 15-ec1002na and would like to know if it’s internally the same? Just so I don’t crack it open and get lost 😂
If you swap the M.2 drive then yes you will need to reinstall Windows, If you just add another SSD where the fake drive was then you'll just need to mount the drive from disk management and you'll have your increased storage.
do you mean "HDD" where the fake drive was? Not SSD, right? You can't install an SSD stick in the space for the fake HDDD--it is much larger and has a different connector, correct?@@quentinfourie4301
Hello i have a design/model that is only in my country so i want to make sure that adding ram and ssd will work from the one in your vid. my specs are i5-10300h 1660ti with max q 8 gb ram dual channel 2933mhz ram speed. will the crucial 2666hz in the disc thats 16x2 work for me so i replace the 2 4gb ram and put 2 16gigs would it be compatible and fit in the slot (im new to this stuff) i havent opened the back of the laptop yet by the lid looks exactly like your i hope you answer
You take out the 4 screws keeping it,one of them also holds the SSD/HDD frame in place. After that you pull the battery out slowly trough the bottom, swap it out and then screw it back in place and connect it back. Put the back cover back on,turn on the laptop and wait about 30 seconds for the CMOS and BIOS to reset and off you go.
There are many configurations, but if your laptop comes with m.2 SSD this is where you should have your windows installed. I don't know what configuration is your model
Im pretty sure that it is not that model because it was made before the Ryzen 5 5600H came out, But im pretty sure that its All made on the same platform, because it looks the same as my Ryzen 7 4800H with 1660TI
Okay I feel like HP and Lenovo gaming laptops will be something I want to get later in the future because my recent experience when i tried to fix my MSI laptop went down hill when I wanted to just replace the CPU / GPU fans. I hate that some of the design assembles like MSI and ASUS are just difficult to work to disassemble to the point it could break easily. Watching this video though makes me feel better though lol. Thanks for sharing this video!
I don't know how about other models but once i was replacing fans in 2018 HP Omen 15 and it was really difficult and complicated due to design if that information can help you.
@@TechFinds Well now that you mention about the models from 2018, I forgot that the designs were still complicated in that year until 2020 from what I was told. The laptop I have right now is MSI GS63 Stealth 8RE and I thought the disassemble process was not bad. But after 30 mins of tedious and careful work on taking the parts to replace the CPU and GPU fan, I was already stressed out. After that though, i messed up my laptop big time and it happened recently too. I may consider to get a gaming laptop another time so I'll go with PC later.
So I need help with something. When I first got this laptop it was running apex at around 70 FPS but 2 says after for absolutely no reason it’s FPS dropped to 12-30 and very laggy. I reset my laptop completely so what’s the problem?

I haven't heard of Pavilion with 1 RAM slot, at least not this generation what I had. I don't know about the other slots in the model you mentioned. After replacing the drive where you have your windows installed you have to install windows on the new drive
@@gemini8965 then it should be enough, however in this combination of RAM (8+4) i think dual channel may not be activated in your case so If possible it's good to have both RAM sticks of the same size like 8+8 GB
The 60hz on the hp omen is a bit deal breaker for me. And the msi is the best. But if you can buy the helios 300 with i7 -9750h or i7-10750h it is the best of all. Thats why i biught the helios. It is the best but the fan noice is omg i can't explain it enough. But there is headphone. So it is up to you. But if i were you i will buy the helios 300.
normally you don't disconnect the ribbon cable. it's extremely delicate. i've worked on other HPs and you disconnected it at the drive, not at the board as the drives connection was much stronger (therefor less likely to break). could be wrong though. still. be very careful with that ribbon cable, they break easily.

So im planing to buy a M.2 SSD 1TB could i have any problem with the computer in the future? :) Great video thank you btw
If buying drives for laptop would make problems, people wouldn't buy drives :D
I really thank you, Kuly, I have a destroyed notebook, I put it there and I didn't even do it again
If i change my SSM m2 for another with heatsink will it fit inside?
Depends on how thick the heatsink is, but I would say no
Just IDEAL video guide! Thanks a lot! :)
Can i install a SATA SSD instead of HDD in the hard disk slot?
yes
Does your notebook support dual channel?
Sure, dual channel is having 2 ram sticks installed
also I wanted to ask . What is the difference between HDD and HDD with data recovery? Does it mean when accidentally deleted important files from the HDD it can be recovered or does it mean if I deleted it will go to the recycle bin first?
It means when data gets corrupt it can be recovered easier
How different are the models of this type? As I have the one with white keys 15-ec1002na and would like to know if it’s internally the same?
Just so I don’t crack it open and get lost 😂
If it's the same generation just with different specs and features the build is the same
Tysm bro just bought some ram and needed a tutorial
Is the Patriot Signatutr 8gb DDR4 2666Hz CL19 1.2V a compatible ram ??? Pls respond
Yes, you can use it and it's actually a good match.
@@TechFinds thx
If you change the ssd will it still have windows installed or do you have to install yourself
If you swap the M.2 drive then yes you will need to reinstall Windows, If you just add another SSD where the fake drive was then you'll just need to mount the drive from disk management and you'll have your increased storage.
do you mean "HDD" where the fake drive was? Not SSD, right? You can't install an SSD stick in the space for the fake HDDD--it is much larger and has a different connector, correct?@@quentinfourie4301
este modelo de notebook trae un pila para reset en caso del algun error
Hello i have a design/model that is only in my country so i want to make sure that adding ram and ssd will work from the one in your vid. my specs are i5-10300h 1660ti with max q 8 gb ram dual channel 2933mhz ram speed. will the crucial 2666hz in the disc thats 16x2 work for me so i replace the 2 4gb ram and put 2 16gigs would it be compatible and fit in the slot (im new to this stuff) i havent opened the back of the laptop yet by the lid looks exactly like your i hope you answer
Ram should be fine im pretty sure,
Ram should be fine im pretty sure,
Nice that's very helpful. Now i can upgrade my hdd to sdd. But any guide for the battery
Where is the OS installed in this model? I have the model "HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk0xxx". Does thi one has a M.2 SSD inside?
There are many configurations, but if your laptop comes with m.2 SSD this is where you should have your windows installed. I don't know what configuration is your model
Is this the same with the model with ryzen 5 5600H; RTX 3500 model?
Just want to make sure it has the same upgrade path
Im pretty sure that it is not that model because it was made before the Ryzen 5 5600H came out, But im pretty sure that its All made on the same platform, because it looks the same as my Ryzen 7 4800H with 1660TI
No idea why its posting comments twice
It is a bit differently organized, but otherwise the same
how much ssd storage upgrade it can support?
I may consider to get a gaming laptop another time so I'll go with PC later.
hello what's type of hp pavilion gaming laptop is ? is that the 15-dk1071nf ? thanks for answer.
So I need help with something. When I first got this laptop it was running apex at around 70 FPS but 2 says after for absolutely no reason it’s FPS dropped to 12-30 and very laggy. I reset my laptop completely so what’s the problem?
Make sure that the power cable is connected well and the games run don Nvidia GPU instead of integrated graphics.
@@TechFinds thx but I tried that and it didn’t work for some reason but thank you 😊
@@Shahmir-oq8tu Im out of ideas then, sorry
@@TechFinds all good I fixed it in the end
If I take the ssd out to replace it, what happens with windows when I try to boot it? Would it not have a boot drive?
Yes, you won't have operating system as it's installed on the drive you took out. You have to install Windows on your new drive
hey tech finds, the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-DK0056WM comes with only single ram slot and i cant find any video on that particular model so my question is wheter it will have same amount of space for the internal devices i.e 2.5 inch drive and if i replace the stock ssd should i install windows again????????/
thanks
I haven't heard of Pavilion with 1 RAM slot, at least not this generation what I had. I don't know about the other slots in the model you mentioned. After replacing the drive where you have your windows installed you have to install windows on the new drive
Should this upgrade increase my performance and FPS? Sorry to bother I’m very new to this stuff
Yes, the RAM should boost the performance but it depends on the game and what ammount you are upgrading from
@@TechFinds I have 12 and I just want to play Minecraft Java lol nothing more
@@gemini8965 then it should be enough, however in this combination of RAM (8+4) i think dual channel may not be activated in your case so If possible it's good to have both RAM sticks of the same size like 8+8 GB
@@TechFinds dual channel? Okay got it I’ll do some research I’m super new this is my first pc also thank you a lot man!

Please answer bro please .🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Msi
Please can you answer me.... How much ram did you have before upgrading
My model had 8GB RAM and i addem 8 more to have 16 in total
@@TechFinds thank you!
Man thanks a bunch I just took off my fake drive to practice while my hardrive arrives
The black sticker on ram entry
Should i remove it or keep it
It's only for a esthetic purposes. You can leave it as it is or remove it
Hi, what is the top for the M.2 and the HDD? and... can I install a 2.5" SSD instead of the HDD and have it installed along with the M.2? would it be any issue?
Yes, you can have 2.5"ssd instead. I'm not aware of any limits for drive capacity. You can have 2x 2TB for sure
@@TechFinds thanks but my questions is: can I have s 2.5" SSD along with he M.2 SSD?
@@braulioenriquematute9895 yes, you can
@@TechFinds thanks!
Can i add ssd with hdd or i have to remove it ( can i use both ssd and hdd in hp pavilion gsming laptop
The laptop has one slot for M.2 SSD and one slot for 2.5" HDD or SSD if you wish. You can have bots slots with drives installed at the same time
