It's been two weeks since an Xray of my left foot showed an undisplaced Jones fracture. I'm wearing air walker boots at all times except in the shower. My orthopedic doctor told me that I can put my weight on my foot with the boot on. Funnily, though there is still a marginal swelling on the side of my foot, it doesn't hurt me at all while I walk down to the bathroom. Im kind of confused because the videos that I've watched or the articles that I've been reading all advise non-weight bearing or surgery with screws. I don't know if I should continue to walk about or not or get a conventional fibrecast put in place.
Really? I have a walking boot too and I was told I better walk in the boot than with fritura which means I need to out weight on that foot while wearing my boot… I’m out of my mind, what should I avoid? Should I keep on moving that foot? Circles in the air, bending and stretching or keeping it still?
Any updates on this? Did you recover normally? I have a nondisplaced Jones fracture, and my doctor said to wear a "moonboot" (which I assume is similar to your boot), but he said don't bare weight on it. Yet it took them 3 weeks to book me in for an appointment, during that time I was walking "as comfort allows" that whole time. I hope I heal normally because my doctor said if I go back after 6 weeks and the fracture is still there, I may have to have surgery (which is another 6 to 8 weeks recovery).
Hello, I been researching and cannot find anything on a foot problem I am having. One problem I am having is that sometimes when I am walking and the bottom of my foot hits a certain spot, I lose control of my leg and fall down. I do know that that that the area is on the bottom of my left foot between the second and third toe. I also know it's only when pressure is applied to that area that I lose control of only that leg and fall down. Is there anything you can recommend, or what is this that is causing this and how is this treated? I have had this problem for a few years now. It's embarrassing when it happens in public and also hurts when I fall and scrape a knee etc.

I couldn't walk on mine but it was the torn ligaments not the fracture that meant I couldn't walk. The ligaments holding my leg bones together and attached to the foot got shredded
go to a homeopath; take symphytum 30c, one dose per day on an EMPTY stomach for 10 days, then symphytum 200c, one dose per week for 3 weeks. AVOID coffee or any caffeine as that will completely WRECK the healing process of homeopathics. works great.

Very informative! Thank you! I have a Lysfranc fracture and a trimalleolar fracture…
I should add this was 3 1/2 years ago!
I broke mine last week, I thought it was sprained. But by this wed, it really swelled up. Went to urgent care and wham, broken!!!! They put a 1000 dollar boot on my foot and I can't wear it. It weighs down my hip replacement. So hoping I get no surgery and a boot that hold my break in place but is light.
I got a jones facture last week from dropping my motorbike on it (more of a crush than a clean fracture) but the ER told me I don't need surgery?
Ortho told me the same thing.
Same here
After how many time your fracture heal completely???
@@tabassumtv786 6 weeks until I could walk on it. 8 weeks until it was mostly pain free.
You know Iam having a Jones fracture 13 weeks now , the doctor told me today just live your life normally if there is no pain or tenderness . Isn't that strange walking on Jones fracture and live normally .
He said it ll take months to heal and there is no need to keep doing x rays with all the radiation and stuff .
I need answers please ? Thanks
They can heal quickly sometimes. It’s not uncommon. You may not see immediate changes in X-rays but if you don’t have pain or tenderness that’s a good indicator that it’s healing fine. I usually follow with X-rays though.
I'm having Jones fracture for 10 weeks pain is not there can i walk but there is no full joining in xray
Same here. I'm having no pain while walking with a Jones fracture and it happened only 2 weeks back. However, I walk only with the air walker boot and never without it ...that too, only to the restroom and back to bed

What about navicular bone fracture? One can walk?
I slept in the bathroom after getting out of shower I'm about a year and a half ago, I have severe pain in my heel going up my ankle and in my Achilles tenant, it's getting worse I can barely stand on it. I went to see a podiatrist and they asked me if I hurt my foot and I didn't remember it so they tried to say it's plantar fasciitis. I don't think it's planner's fasciitis. It burns in my ankle in the arch of my foot, and I have broke several toes lol it's not funny but I feel stupid for not going to the doctor when it happened. I know I broke them because I heard them crack and they turned black and blue almost purple at times. They don't look deformed so I can tell you I have so much pain in my inner ankle from my heel up it's crazy. I can't take it anymore
iv broken my left foot twice from my moms wheelchair and walked like nothing happened
I was break dance and I landed on my ankle while jumping and when I walk on it it hurts so bad when I put pressure on it
I fractured my second, and third and big break on the fourth metatarsal but still lines up i went to a specialist doctor he told that i don't need surgery that just had to wear orthopedic boot and be on crutches. 6 weeks later on second visit he told me that everything looking good he told me i could start bearing weight now im at nine weeks i walk on one crutch but still hurts too much. Im comfuse i don't know if im doing this at the right time i hope i didn't stared too soon
Hey Hi, I also broke my 2,3 and 4th Metatarsal bones. How long it take for complete recovery ? I'm on my third week with the cast.
@@seenivasan7252hi, i broke my 3rd and 2nd dislocated, did you have surgery?
Sir..after how many weeks were u able to walk as earlier.@@seenivasan7252
I am glad I watched your video. I hurted my pinky toe n put in back. Then I went for X-ray n It turned out to be spiral fracture. Is it considered serious? Do I need to wear guard if I can still move around?
I accidentally cut my foot with a grinder, a fractured bone on the 2nd toe finger…
I have jones fracture. I am 32 years old. My doctor suggested cast but not surgery.
Same
Same here. How is you guys healing process?
I dropped 4 tins off tuna on my foot last week its bruised but not swollen its hurts no idea weather to get any xray
I broke my ankle 3 months ago still swollen and purple when no elevated

Did you ever break your foot, purposefully kicking a metal wall?
There is a fracture in the long bone of my fifth metatarsal. Can it be cured by plastering?
Hi good day to you I'm from South Africa PE why is it when I sit with my spaceboot in between my small toe and the one next to the middle toe it's burning and eatching a lot
Is PRP treatment good for a talus head fracture??
Sometimes you can. When I was 14 a 150cc dirtbike landed on my foot and broke my foot and I was able to hobble around after a couple hours.
Any info for Calcaneus fracture info? Thru non displaced between heel and arch. I’d love to to know other options of traction besides full air cast boot since it’s so hard to wear causing so many other pain and discomfort areas. Any braces that would work?
Thanks Doc. Awesome Video. I have a broken 4 toe😢
What about a fracture of calcaneum with subluxation???
I couldn't walk on mine but it was the torn ligaments not the fracture that meant I couldn't walk. The ligaments holding my leg bones together and attached to the foot got shredded
Can i get a fracture from getting my foot stuck under a door?
What an awesome video
So how can you fix or treat these fractures??
I broke my heel into many pieces. My doctor said there's nothing they can do. It just has to heal that way is this true?
go to a homeopath; take symphytum 30c, one dose per day on an EMPTY stomach for 10 days, then symphytum 200c, one dose per week for 3 weeks. AVOID coffee or any caffeine as that will completely WRECK the healing process of homeopathics. works great.
I broken my foot but I'm banned from all medical assistance in Wales uk. So like when I broken my wrist last year I had to fix it myself, I am disabled use wheelchair and mobility scooter to get around, live alone banned from all help in Wales uk, I have epilepsy, lipodermatosclerosis, osteoarthritis, arthritis, heart condition and borderline diabetes yet I'm banned from all medical assistance in Wales uk. How can I fix it myself as I also have bone disease where my bones break easily
Since you are banned from all medical assistance, we can not help you on TH-cam either. Good day
wjy are u banned
I was at the er on Thursday, they did an X-ray and said no fracture, but my pinky toe and top of foot and ankle still sore, red, and swollen. Could I possibly have an occult fracture?
Highly likely yes. I sprained my foot, they did an x ray at the ER and told me it was just sprained foot… then I went to a podiatrist, done an MRI and I have avulsion fracture and walk in a boot.
It’s a shame that the doctors can’t even read properly the x rays and just advised me to walk on it while it was broken!
I’m praying for my bone to heal and be able to walk normally 🫶🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 wishing you all speedy recovery ❤️🩹
Have evident subcapital fracture of 5th metatarsal with periosteal elevation. Already more than 2 weeks didn’t use cast and pain is less . Do I need a cast now am walking as have daily travel
My question too
I felt a pop in my lower calf. My doctor diagnosed me with calf strain. However, calf does not hurt and outside of foot hurts and has been swollen. Should I have her look at it again?
If you can plantar flex your foot or get on your toes that’s a good sign. Could have fractured a 5th met base also. If it’s not Better get an X-ray
What is the key to getting insurance to pay for an MRI (in the US)?
What will I do, surgery or none?
doc will tell u
I broke my 5th metatarsal 6 weeks ago and they are keeping me in the boot for another 4 weeks I am really worried it’s not healing properly but I find I’m not really being told much and it’s making me anxious as I love walking
Hello, have you had an update on your injury ? Just curious bc I also have the same injury 😅
Same injury here How is you guys healing?
Hope you all are doing better by now..
I also have a broken 5th Metatarsal shaft.. today is full 4weeks done ...i can't even walk 60 mtrs...cast to be on for another 2 weeks.
Wow wish you better @@upcycleddiycrafts6854
Can you have a fracture of the foot bones (top of foot off the base of the lower ankle) without any bruising ? I am having the symptoms you mentioned in the video. Pain goes away at night then comes on during periods of high movement.
I dropped something on my foot, tried everything to help it but nothing worked so I went to urgent care, they did a xray, said it's not broken, maybe I should see a different doctor, almost two weeks it's still swollen and discolored, hurts.
Do all of these swell up and bruise??
Typically if there is a fracture then you will see bruising but not ALL the time. Thanks!
@@footdoctorif there’s bruising does that mean it is broken?
When i buy work books, i insist on steel toes. I work with cattle, and I'm fully aware of the liability of a broken foot.
I broke 5 bones in my foot and ankle, had a dislocation and i walked on it, i was in agony but i was on holiday in Portugal and i knew that if i went to hospital to get treated it would cause a huge knock on effect so i chose to bear with it!
I have broken more or less every toe and every finger, i have also broken two toes and a finger just this year!
How do you feel now can you walk?
