Since so many folks enjoy this video we decided to tab out the song and record it professionally so you could have a better version. You can check out our live studio version of it on our channel. Cheers folks.
This is seriously my favorite Mumford and sons song ❤️❤️❤️❤️ so much passion & you can feel the hurt, anger, and the desperation to get away. Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Anyone know if there are any other recordings or videos of this song by mumford and sons? Still probably my all time fave song by M&S but this is the only version I know of. So emotive and powerful. Would have been momentous to have been there for this, especially in such a beautiful and acoustically resonant place!
Nope :( Its my absolute favourite, they chucked it to the side when making Babel. Imagine all the other amazing songs that we've never heard that they thought weren't good enough....
Why couldnt they play this, aswell as all of there amazing songs when i went to see them live, its all amazing, cant wait for the next time i see them let alone the new album will be so much of an encore to the first album. everyone will buy it :D
Best guess: He was alone, outside On the night his glory died She just sat and cried None of the rain, let it not fall from her face As a pence she repaid for his crime So he took all he had and he ran, And he ran for his life, left his wife How I long, to be a child of the light And for once in his life he ran Leave, leave me alone with my voices Leave, leave me alone to my choices For I will be ruled by my vices
So take your leave from the woods As they (drink/drain?) from the (mouth?) Oh (child?), (softer glow?) from the (way?), from sins of the (rage?) And the way you were made to -?? Leave, leave me alone with my voices Leave, leave me alone to my choices For I will be ruled by my vices Leave, leave me alone with my voices Leave, leave me alone to my choices For I will be ruled by my vices Leave, leave me alone with my voices Leave me alone to my choices 'Cause I will be ruled by my vices
I don't think so because "Ghosts That We Knew" seems more about someone who is worried and is forgiven (by God I would interpret) as were this song talks about a man who is probably a drunk either seriously beating his child almost to death or beating his child to death in a drunken rage.
Really?? I'm not having a go... but it's not really all that similar in my humble opinion, and the lyrics don't match up that much... I wish they released this!
And I'm still here, year after year, listening to this wonder that will never come out
They make shitty music nowadays
Still waiting for the day this song shows up on an album.
This is absolutely breathtaking...beyond beautiful. The song is mournful, Marcus's voice is so soulful, passionate, and mournful...just so beautiful.

I need this song on their new(3rd) album. Marcus is just singing his heart out like always. Especially coming to the end...just too good

Oh my god this is beautiful
I love this song so much. I wish there is a record version, but really like this and not like the cover of "Pawns or Kings".
The’ greatest song.
Could anybody give me the lyrics? I find it hard to find to hear. Thank you so much.

This is brilliant. Have not heard it before. These boys are unik... Is it a Mumford and sons Song?
wow.........
@Moonbeeem21 I've been looking as well, but nothing so far :(
WHY IS THIS NOT ON ITUNES
I can only think of Arthur Shelby now
Someone has the name of the song?
Voices, or at least that's what I've heard was on the setlist.
I think this song may have slowly evolved into ghosts that we knew? To me, they have similar themes.
