Esoteric interpretation: Bill Burr's George is Kamala and the Democratic establishment. The other patients are the Democratic base. Bowen Yang's Samuel is Liz Cheney and moderate Republicans. George is too busy excusing Samuel's behavior and by doing so is neglecting the well-being of the other patients. There is no logical reason for him to favor Samuel over the four other people in the room. And the irony is that Kamala still lost anyways. (Samuel makes fun of George's wife exploding). All these post-election Bill Burr skits all have a common theme. They all seem to highlight the grievances of older white male Trump supporters, except for this one which is a potshot at white liberals.

But I'm not getting them making a big deal about Boen not smoking, so he eats 50 donuts instead. How is that cigarette even lit to put out on Ashley Padilla?

shout out to the editors for correctly labeling this church as an episcopal church. too distracting to me when they showed an episcopal church and called it a baptist church that one time
@@benjrivera21 an episcopal church will have red doors like 99% of the time, and non-anglocatholic denominations don't really do that. it's never a surefire thing but most baptist churches in america are either made out of red brick with really tall spires or they're boxy and look more modern. new episcopal/anglocatholic churches aren't really being built, so they'll almost never be in a newer-looking building
as someone with severe PTSD, this is getting to the heart of what has happened in the past few years to the "mental health community." terms for severe symptoms have become co-opted to describe non-pathological experiences-- you can see this with people saying things like "if you were a big reader as a kid, that was dissociation." meanwhile, dissociation is not voluntary and looks more like walking out in traffic because you can't respond to your surroundings or remember where you are. it's become harder and harder for people like us who aren't veterans to find places to talk about what happened to us. and the worst part is, even spaces where we'd like to get on with our lives are filled with people who constantly use these terms for jokes or try to get you to laugh about what happened to you, because to them, trauma truly never gets worse than an amicable divorce or perhaps a fender bender.
