I have a 23 Sport V6 and agree with Paul in terms of value for money. Had a Prado before this and a Hilux and the Everest wins hands down. Lot of haters out there but this truly is a nice car.
I've owned a Titanium for a few years now and to be honest, best car purchase I've made. Super reliable, been off road, been on very long trips, very good vehicle.

Good review and spot on with what it can do. Yes it is a bit soft in the ride. Compared to my old 5 cylinder Everest this is so quite! You should point out that the Wildtrak is not a regular model and only a one off build, in Australia. Not so in other markets. I had a Sort on order, but due to dealer inability to communicate on delivery went elsewhere and got a Wildtrak.

We upgraded from the Sport mainly for the Sunroof, the seat memory was a bonus. I prefer the look of the sport but were told we’d probably get a WT before a Sport too.

We’re in the same boat. Wanted the sport but don’t want to wait 14 months and told we’ll get a Platinum earlier. It’s a big fat price for an Everest but has some nice features the Sport doesn’t
I’m in love with the Everest, it’s the Explorer we need in the US! Just wish there was a variant with 35s like with its Bronco sibling.

When you say it "shuffles torque" between the front and rear axles. Do you know if the default is a fixed ratio, say 30/70 and the varies up to say a 50/50? Or is the default 0/100 where it runs primarily in RWD and only feeds torque to the front as it "needs" it? I'm pretty sure that the Pajero runs a fixed f/r ratio so the front wheels always have torque going to them.
With the clutch pack being similar to the system the RAM 1500 uses, I wonder if it works like the RAM (sends drive to all 4 wheels by default and then disengages the clutches gradually when turning to allow different f/r axle speeds) or if it runs more like a SUV where it runs 2wd and uses the Awd function as a glorified traction control.
Bought a sport. Not disappointed after seeing this lol.

Have you seen the review of it off-road? Not making it up the gravel hill 🤭 but the hilux and triton walked right up with highway terrain tyres

@@Paradoxical124 ok then well triton and hilux are both cheaper and walked right up and are on highway terrains aswell, the Everest didn’t. It’s not really off road capable, all those drive modes, hilux has no tech and got the job done🤦♂️ fords too over tech and it’s really just a gimmick.
@@user-my8og5tb9m won’t make the difference, the traction control system just isn’t as good as hilux or triton. Everest is more rigid and doesn’t flex the way a Pajero or fortuner does.

How does the 4-cylinder fuel economy look like?
Had our V6 sport for 4 months and have put 5000kms on it. I’d say a good mix of urban/highway driving. Struggling to keep fuel consumption under 11 litres/100km.

You do realize that if you're doing 15,000km per year, every extra 1L/100km you do is only an extra $300-$350 a year? You just bought a 70K car lol
Point taken, but not the point I was trying to make. And it’s much closer to 80k.
At 10.000 ks it will be down to 10s, at 20,000 it will be down to 9s, i bet ya ( unless your drivn hard all the time) my previous 3.2L started new at 12s, plus, at around 20.000ks was down to 10.5s and just prior to me no longer owning it at 90,000ks, i could get 9.4s if purposely driving conservatively ( not too concervatively) and never over 9.8 when not-that had been with “on the aggressive side” AT tyres, full bull bar, flat rack on roof , driving lights, awning and a constant 100 kgs in the tray- also just using any diesal i came across when needed, just keepn it serviced and not flooring it until at temp at the start of each cold start use!

If I were to buy an Everest, this is definitely the spec I would buy. And definitely with the 18's and AT's, the 20" rims on an offroad focused variant is a bit stupid really.
The thing is Paul, if there are buyers like me who are after a panaromic sunroof, sports doesn't have it and Platinum is too far away. I think Wild Trak just fits fine there. I do agree, if you are not after the Sunroof, Sports is a better buy.
100% - I’ve just purchased the WT. All the reviews say the same re: Sport better value… Not if you want a Sunroof! Plus some extra ambient light also

The Everest is the only pick-up-based SUV that doesn't look like it actually is. It has a solid appearance, looks stable and comfortable...unlike Fortuner and MUX which are just pick-ups-from appearance, riding, handling and comfort.

Over here in PH, it's just the orange stitch whatever the exterior color you choose. Its probably meant for like the wildtrak theme which is mainly orange

I just bought a V6 4wd sport. It has so many features I love it. I do miss the quick uptick of my ranger wild track bi turbo, it had more zing, where as the v6 seems to lethargically pick up speed. I overtook a vehicle the other day and was surprised how long it took for the v6 to wind up some speed. But, love it, other than badges the sport and wild track seem to be identical.
I saw on a test done in regards to speed both the v6 and bi turbo were the same, the bi turbo might actually be quicker, but the difference is in towing, the v6 they noticed you didn’t need to push the pedal as much. But if you’re never going to tow than the bi turbo is probably the better long term option.
@@ev0watPaul did a drag test, the v6 was a lot quicker to 100km/h
I find that your reviews seem to cover mostly the comfort and cosmetics, other then that nothing that really matters when it comes to performance and cost of maintenance in comparison to other vehicles available on the market.
By the way did you get the problems sorted with your beaut Raptor, last I heard it fell apart, good on you mate

Hello Paul, tough one for you maybe, if possible can you please do some research and review on the 2024 Wildtrack X, love to purchase one, just not sure on what Ford's strategy is with this "X" and why it's only available in the BI-Turbo for such a tuff offroader, thanks.
With the X ford clearly wanted a top tier version for the bi-turbo, like how the Platinum is V6 only. If Ford had v6 wildtrak x, v6 Platinum, v6 regular wildtrak there would be way too many models in the premium v6 ranger all between 80-90k. That being said a v6 wildtrak x would be close to the 90k mark. It would then make something like the Platinum a bit obsolete, I know the x has some pretty wicked suspension, but being the Everest Platinum is v6 only you couldn't do a BI Turbo ranger Platinum. That's my thoughts anyway!
it was an over seas model under euro 6 emissions hence the ad blue, it was either australia got that model as it is or not have it at all

Ford already made an Everest raptor one off. It’s not possible for them to put them into production due to the body shape of the suv. Google it. There’s one out there somewhere in a ford warehouse.

Immediately thought - what a good-looking vehicle, and its proportions are so good, that without Paul next to it (and knowing his height,) there is little giveaway as to its size. But with interior quality that scored a grudging "pass" - though in many cars recently it would have received criticism, modest performance that in other vehicles would have earnt criticism, fuel economy that is poor given its performance which was also not criticized, and braking that is simply not good enough, this is a hard pass for me, even if it wasn't a clunky, gruff, polluting diesel. I doubt if many of these vehicles will even see a dirt road, let alone wade a creek, so it seems to be a (yet another) vehicle that panders to fantasies rather than provides a transportation solution. Even if reliability wasn't a grave concern.
So far so good at 7000km. Nice ride and a solid vehicle. ❤

We have been shopping around for the everest and I have to agree, the sport is the more sensible choice.
I would not I had one and the engine had to be replaced six months later because of oil leaks.

Sorry, dead battery. Intresting the Everest Wildtrak in Thailand is excactly the same as the Titanium (Platimum in Aus) minus the Grrrrrr V6. Matrix headlights, 12,4 Instument cluster, mood lights with the Wildtrak interior and exterior differing from the Titainium. Now here is the kicker. The Wildtrak version is more expensive than the range topper Titanium. What???. And no Bloddy V6 Grrrrrr.

Agree Paul, I dont see any better value in the Wildtrak variant. Platinum if you want the sunroof and luxurious feel.
My Sport is very comfortable and very capable. Stock 18" tires are average and upgrading mine soon.

It really concerns me that ALL of these seperate chassis SUV's take sooo long to stop, and why isn't their more constructive critisism from the media?, we are lumped with a whole suite of so called safety equipment that have done nothing to lower our road toll (I would love to be proved wrong), surely more emphasis on primary safety like braking, handling, and chassis engineering would give us much safer vehicles than a whole heap of relatively cheap electronic gizmos that have so far proved to be of little benefit, how many cats,dogs, kids are going to get run over by these lumbering dinosaurs before we all realise how stupid we are for buying them?, you only have to look at some of the dash cam footage of crashes to see how badly they perform in braking and stability in emergency situations, do we really need two and a half tonne vehicles to cart around three kids and a dog?, and don't forget all of the damage that extra weight does to our roads

Prices going up. WTF. The prices are already ridiculous for a vehicle wearing a Ford badge. I was contemplating an Everest for my Landcruiser upgrade in a couple of years but even at current prices I was finding it difficult to justify $ for the badge. Let's see how the Ineos performs over next couple of years as I'd rather pay extra $ for a Grenadier if it proves to be a reliable platform.

Toyota Landcruiser quality is proven to be well above Ford and definitely not considered a cheap product line. I did not say that I was buying a Toyota, I stated that I would be upgrading from a Toyota. Do you hold shares in Ford or do you work in their marketing department?. I stand by my comments.

a bit annoying how they force you up to the platinum with dumb things like a smaller dash LCD that costs a few bucks difference at best. Guys at work have GWM Tank 300s that cost half as much and are loaded with tech. And the build quality is surprisingly decent. Ford can't continue to live on its perceived quality superiority for much longer. After decades of owning fords, I'm looking elsewhere...

Just picked up ( yesterday ) Brand fck spanking V6 XLT ranger, amazing enogh, dunno about 5 to 8, 9 grand more for the add ons, them cup holders, leather, bigger screen to a “ who really gives a fck” size and a few more unnecessary things! The improvement in upgrades, across all badges, such as, tech, drive improvents, peer and etc? is enough as is! Dont pay for shite u dont really neec!
