    Work on a commercial farm and we have each of these model pickups !! Most are driven off road being sand and mud , and loaded with the max carrying capacity . So far the Toyota has been the best in terms of reliability and running costs !! The Raptor is only a game changer when it comes to overall performance, yet in the 6 months having it on the farm we've experienced more technical problems ie. electronics . The Amarok just feels too soft as a work horse , nothing really beats the Toyota reliability, we've got Hiluxs' on the farm with 300000 miles and 400000miles respectively without having any issues !! So yet to see how the Amarok and Raptor will be in the long run !!

      @electrikoptik ปีที่แล้ว +82

      The people that use these vehicles as a workhorse don't really care about technology, power, luxury. They care about reliability and durability. There's a reason why the Hilux is not only the best selling pickup in the world but also the most trusted.
      The Raptor is not even a 1 ton truck which means it's not classified as a commercial vehicle which means you can't write the tax off.

      @citaron, that's where your wrong. The best selling pickup in the world is still the Toyota Hilux. Ford is maybe the best seller for people that does no off roading and buys it for show. They have already updated ten speed auto to increase life. Ford actually manufacture and sell about 1.5 million of these 10 speed automatics every year and most run to a very high mileage before any problem occurs. The Aisin-Warner six speed auto in the HiLux is also a good transmission and is also used in the Isuzu D-Max and Mazda pickups and was indeed used in an earlier form in six speed Audi Q7 vehicles.

    On the road it’s not so much that the Raptor has coil springs but that they are rated to carry only 650kgs approx, rather than the commercial spec 1060kgs approx of the much stiffer others. The American specification leaf sprung Rangers and probably Amarok, if they decide to sell it there, will have 500 to 650kg rated springs, much softer than Australian and European models.
    What you tend to ignore is the fuel consumption of the Raptor, which you may find to be around 15mpg compared to the other two doing double the mpg or even better with still more than adequate road performance. They also tow 3.5 tons while the Raptor does not. The others are the sensible choice, especially for business user while the Raptor is the rich man’s toy. The difference between men and boys is actually the size of their toys.

    Ex 2021 SR5 Cruiser owner here, and I traded for a Ranger raptor 3L (460hp here in New Zealand) Nearly had it for a whole year now and so far it is the best car I have owned. It’s used on high country farming, reliability has been great, and puts a smile on your face when you hit that pedal. From my experience I think the older 1980-2000s hiluxs are where they were there best, but now the fan boys are too caught up in the brands and afraid of taking ego hits. New hilux blew a turbo towing a Cam am X3, the newer hiluxs aren’t as good as what they say, I have mate who owns a couple mechanic shops and they have had heaps of newer model hiluxs coming in with problems…. I have fitted air bags to my Raptor which can tow 3500kgs now, so not being affected by anything. The fuel prices are just increased slightly but doesn’t matter if you can afford one.

      adding airbags doesn't raise your GVM, you can't legally tow 3500kg's in a Raptor (yes I have a next gen Raptor). All you do is improve the drop in the suspension from the weight of the trailer and you ruin the ride quality and travel of the shocks. Also your NZ Raptor is NOT 460hp, it's 392hp (same as AUS). Other that that your comments are spot on.

      @@jdmguy44 Long term, yes. There’s nothing much to choose between them. I am a very happy Land Cruiser 100 series 1HD-FTE 4.2 diesel owner of very long standing and even when I bought that [I still have it] back in late 1998, it had a few initial faults, worse of which were a badly misaligned front suspension, sticky driver’s seatbelt, a water leak into a foglight and a faulty transmission computer that was changed out. A 2004 Range Rover 3.0 diesel had absolutely zero faults in the four years I had it. The 2014 Ranger, which I also still run in the fleet, had only a faulty EGR valve under warranty and since has only had a few broken rear springs, two of which were aftermarket, and a seized fifth injector that helps light up the DPF. No build issues whatsoever and no faults that have left me stranded. The new Ranger, which has only done some 4000 miles yet, is absolutely perfectly built with only a faulty wheel pressure sensor needing warranty work, which is obviously a generic big-name supplier part as probably fitted to many different models of vehicles. I can certainly tell you after 25 years running a Toyota and a friend having a large mixed fleet including Toyota, Nissan, Ford and Land Rover utes/pickups plus a large number of vans comprising mainly Renault, Vauxhall, Mercedes and others, and having run Toyota vans in the past, that they are all generally good and all have their particular strengths and weaknesses. It is unwise and even slightly juvenile to fall into brand adoration and loyalty traps. Particularly naive to swallow advertising propaganda designed specifically to engender customer loyalty. It’s all bull, believe me.

      @Carson-pb5pfYou worship the Beast. Hell is your resting place.
      Warning to all Muslim who rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to all Mankind
      The billions of souls already in Hell are those who rejected Me shamelessly during their life
      ----------------------------------
      Message of October 20, 2012(Book Of Truth)
      ----------------------------------
      My dearly beloved daughter, the vision I permitted you to witness last night, was to strengthen your spirituality, and to show you the Truth of life after death.
      During the first hours after death, Satan sends his demons to tempt souls - even at that stage.
      He tempts them to reject the state of Purgatory. He does the same thing to those, who have died in a state of grace, who are destined for Heaven.
      I showed you the speed by which souls plunge into Hell and the terrifying persecution they face, in order to warn those who do not believe it exists.
      Billions of souls are there already, and there are so many entering every second, that it appeared to you like a shower of fallen stars, like a hailstorm, falling into the lake of fire.
      I showed you also the shock and the joy of those souls faces, when they have been plucked, at the last minute, and saved. This is due to the suffering accepted by victim souls, for the salvation of such souls from Hell.
      You saw, first, the terror, and then, the fear in their faces, as the Truth of their final resting place dawns on them. Then you were shown the joy on their faces when they realised that they had been spared.
      The billions of souls, already in Hell, are those who rejected Me, shamelessly, during their life on earth. Many were smart, intelligent people, in positions of influence in the world, who went to great lengths to ensure that the Word of God was not heard. Many were responsible for ordering the murder of thousands of innocent people. They executed God’s children without one ounce of remorse in their hearts. They performed vile acts, involving sexual perversities, which are offensive to God and detested by Him.
      Many, caused persecution against God’s Churches through secular activities, and in some cases, joined the enemy in black masses, where they worshipped the beast.
      These are the souls you are saving, My daughter. Those with blackened souls and hearts of stone.
      There are ten times more souls in Hell than in Purgatory. The billions of souls in Hell, all in different levels, outnumber those in Heaven by thirty-three for every single soul.
      It is not easy to go to Heaven, and it takes much commitment to prepare your souls to enter the gates.
      This is the time of the Truth. The Truth is not always pleasant, but it is necessary for all of God’s children to understand.
      My Mercy is, however, great. When you ask for it, for yourselves, your prayers will be answered. When you ask for another soul to be saved, especially at the time of their death, your call will be heard. If you do not ask for My Mercy, it cannot be given.
      At the time of The Warning, My Mercy will be poured all over the earth. Then you must ask Me for My Great Mercy, to protect you.
      To those who reject My Mercy, this will be by their own free will.
      My Mercy is plentiful, yet so few ask for it.
      Your Jesus

    I am a ford bloke, and have the exact same Raptor.However, rather than your edits, I live my days in it, and I think my Subaru Wrx Sti would perform better.
    I love my orange nugget Raptor to bits, but I can definitely tell that this was a paid by Ford video. I have Hilux Rogues and older Amarok V6s completely killing everything wee all do. Tasmania, Hilux and Amarok kill me across every facet.
    Definitely paid by Ford on this one.

      The big Ford pickup makes 1630 nm with the high output engine.

  • @ilikelampshades6
    @ilikelampshades6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The diesel engine is much better for a pickup, can tow more and carry more and gives better mpg and diesel can be bought for cheaper for businesses.
    Leaf springs are an absolute must for a pickup due to load carrying and towing, plus they last a lifetime so no maintenance required.
    The wobbly steering wheel on the Hilux is so it is more comfortable offroad. A highly strung setup will throw you all over the place offroad.
    The hilux is a previous generation of pickup, been around since 2016. I'd still take Toyotas reliability and functionality over the other 2, better yet, wait until 2024 and get the new generation Hilux

    I’ve got a Hilux GR sport I’ve upgraded with OME BP-51 suspension (2in lift), 33x12.5r17 off road Yokohama G003 tyres, ARB air lockers and loads more😅 as I’m also from Birmingham, so let me know if you want to test a Hilux with much more capabilities to defend the brand rep :) 👍🏻

      @migueljardim8177 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think you'd be defending the brand rep in that test as much as the aftermarket parts you've put on it😅 If that's the case let's get a a Raptor with 35 inch mud terrains to test with your Hilux!

    • @richardclarke207
      @richardclarke207 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@migueljardim8177 yeah, I get that but the ford is £10k plus more, so you can do all that to a Hilux and still be under budget.. lol but tbf, just putting all three trucks on the Ko2 tyres the ranger was on would have been a fairer test :). But I get you point ✌🏻

    • @migueljardim8177
      @migueljardim8177 ปีที่แล้ว

      @richardclarke207 I understand what you mean, but this was meant to be a comparison between stock vehicles. If Toyota doesn't want to put KO2 tyres and more ground clearance on their truck, then it isn't the Raptors' fault for being better, if you know what I mean? No hate to either truck, but that is just how it be🤷‍♂️.
