@@Sorastro I just wanted to say that I finally got started painting after a long hiatus, starting with this tutorial - and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Thanks again for the great tutorials!
Skeleton Horde is the new Nuln Oil! B1 droids, Gandalf‘s robes, blonde hair, you name it. Everything is perfect with a single coat of Skeleton Horde! Great result, thank you for sharing!
@@themidwesternboi9399 some of them are more difficult to use, but I also start off every paintjob with contrasts. If I feel like investing more time or having more fun, I might add to the first layer or even cover it completely with opaque paint. But the initial speed paint is such a great tool!
Fantastic job. Keep these video coming! They are also so fun to watch. You are really inspiring me to pick up the rest of my Marvel Crisis Protocol set and get to painting! 😆
Instead of mixing colors for the blasters I used Ratling Grime and it looks good. Perhaps that color wasn't released yet at the time this video was made I think it's one of the colors added recently to the range.
I used Speedpaint for my primary color, and intend to go back and add details. The SP models are just too nice to leave to a standard table-top quality, really want to stretch my painting and enjoy them more.
I always love seeing some droids being painted up by you Have you seen the way the droids look like in Jedi: Survivor? Their paint has been like sanded off most of their body by the raiders I plan on painting some with mismatched parts
Hello Very good job as usual I haven't Citadel Contrast but Vallejo XPress and Game Color. Which colour from Vallejo do you think it could work to replace skeleton Horde ?
Thank you, Marlon! I actually published a PDF guide for the terrain a little while back: sorastro.com/2023/05/31/star-wars-shatterpoint-core-set-terrain-pdf-painting-guide/ 🙂
Sir, per chance do you know what humidity levels are you’re working in? It’s not the first time I can see you work with a rather wet contrast in time mine would already start to settle. Is there anything else than the humidity of the environment that could impact this drying time?
Hello! I don't really know what the humidity is here in my little studio tbh. I also don't mix the Contrast Colour with anything (unless stated), so I'm not sure about the drying time varience. But you could certainly just paint one smaller area at a time (an arm, then the torso etc).. 🙂
Stupid questions - what primer did you use? I'm trying to use my monument hobbies primers, but I find that the speedpaint I use (army painter 2.0) seems to reactivate the primer and pull it off the model. I'm looking for a primer that clearly works with contrast / speedpaint like what you're using here. Thanks!
Hey Ben! I use the Mr Finishing Surfacer Black primer; it's an enamel primer, and you can see me use it in the first episode of the series: th-cam.com/video/h2VRIyCAekM/w-d-xo.html 😀
Hi! Well, I had a bit of a rough couple of years where my output slowed down a little whilst I got through some personal difficulties, which is now behind me. But also I was commissioned to work on this series some time ago, so was able to work on these videos very early, then release them nearer to the launch of the game. 🙂
This shatterpoint series has been a lifesaver and I look forward to painting along with it!
Excellent! Thank you, sir! 😀

I'm so happy to hear that! Thank you 😀
Excellent work Mark. I am surprised at just how effective the contrast paints can be when used properly. Really liking this series 😁
Thanks a lot buddy! I didn't do much different here compared to my Legion B1s tbh - I figured "if it ain't broke.."! 😁
Exactly! Very cool to see Spead Paint used in an effective way.
Happy to see a very similar approach to the Legion B1 video.

Skeleton Horde was the first contrast paint I used and now I almost always use contrast paint
Totally! 😁

I bought these droids about 9 months ago in anticipation you would produce a painting video, thank you. 👋🏾
Awesome, Angelo! 😀
Terrific tutorial as always! Look forward to seeing more shatterpoint videos
Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to sharing another hero character in the next episode... 😁
Splendid, as always sir!
Thank you kindly! 😀
These look great with minimal effort. Look forward to more tutorials.
Thank you! 😊
Great video, looking forward to using it.
Thanks Steve! 🤗
You Sir, are the chosen one.
Ha ha, thank you 😁
Great work!

They look great! 🤩
Thanks a lot! 😁
These ARE the droids I’m looking for.
Looking great! Similar to your Legion version. Look much better on these more to scale miniatures.
Thanks buddy! Yeh, the Skeleton Horde just works so well for the B1s.. 😄
They look terriffic, and love those bases too!
Thanks!! 😀

Will you be showing a tutorial on how to paint Gar Saxon and the Super Mandalorians? 👀
Yes I will! 😀
@@Sorastro, can't wait, they're the only ones I have left to paint from the core set.

Thank you! I've not actually had a chance to explore the Vallejo Express colors yet, but I'll let you know if/when I do 😀
Are you going to have a swing at the scenery too from the base game? As always more than excellent work, sir!
