Well, not qiantum physics, but astronomy. He had an MB before he dedicated himself to Rock 'n' roll and started PhD. In his words he was lucky that there was no progress in the field of his PHD thesys in the years he played the guitar sonhec was able to collect data and finish the doctorate. And while astronomy is not so out of this world as quantum physics, it is still no mean achievent. In my opinion he should be addressed s "Doctor" just for that.
Back in March 1997 when Bryan came in Mongolia to see the sun eclipse, I met him at the airport and recognized that "this is the curly Bryan from the Queen". I approached d him and said "your Too Much Love Will Kill You Is a Killer Song" then he smiled at me me and shaked my hand. This was one my life's unforgetful moments . . . .

My dad and Brian May are the reasons why I first picked up a guitar. 39 years later, having a happy carreer as musician I can only thank these 2 guys for making music with such passion and talent. Can't believe it's been almost 30 years since I first heard this song and fell in love with it!

It is personal for him. He wrote this when he was trying to save his marriage but he was in love with Anita with whom he was having an affair at the same time. It ripped him apart. However, him and Anita have now been happily married for 25 years.
I think a lot of us can say we’ve experienced moments in our lives where these lyrics tell the tale of a difficult time, but hopefully we’ve come through it on the other side and are better for it. The lyrics are raw emotions we can relate to in one way or another. It is an incredibly beautiful song, with one version sang by Freddie and the other by its creator, each unique and powerful in their own right. Thank you, Brian for this crown jewel.

As much as I love Freddie, I always preferred this version. Brian wrote it for himself, which makes it more poignant, and you can just hear the anguish in his voice.

I grew up with Queen and the love affair started in 1976 when my older brother would play their albums. Until I stole them for my own budding Queen collection. I love this song because it's so honest. It makes you feel both the love and the lack of it. Thank you for the remaster. Oh wow, I love this version! It's great to finally hear the guy who wrote the song. The voice is excellent, so full of texture, and the way the sounds and words are articulated is brilliantly fresh and interesting. It's a buoyant, shimmering voice.
I love this song though it really tugs at my emotions. A sort of confession I think, but leaving no real solution to the mess that had been created. I cannot imagine the pain of leaving one's family behind because there is no love greater than that which we have for our children. Realizing that the situation had been destroyed by one's own choices is a very bitter pill to swallow. Beautiful song just the same, thank you for sharing it with us. As a living descendant of a Divine Hero, which means true Eros as revealed by our ancestors, I have to disagree with you: people have a certain responsibility towards their kids, but that doesn’t include staying miserable for their sake. And it was ok in the end, with the kids. Kids get the parent’s true focus better than anyone else. Just as we should never stay miserable to please our parents... it was obviously a cycle of social programming that Brian finally broke there, the expectations laid upon him early on. The programming hurts, not the choice to be free of it. The love for our Soul Mate is greater than any other, it is Cosmic, so there shouldn’t be any guilt attached to that, because it is the Truth we all seek. As said, we Kids get it better than anyone else.
@@AdinaIspas It is sad that Brian says he hasn't ever gotten over his feelings of guilt for the part he played in the failure of his marriage and his feelings of failure as a father. I am guessing most of that probably stems from the moral values of his parents that were instilled in him as a child, his close bond with both of his parents and with them being his role models on parenting and marriage. As far as his current wife being his soulmate, I sincerely hope that is the case. I do believe that Brian was a very good father in spite of the fact that he was not able to live together with his children as a family, as he wished. I do believe that between he and Chrissie his children have done fine and have grown to be good parents and good people in general. I think everyone came through all of it just fine with the exception of Brian.
The great thing about life is you can see yourself through someone else's. Growing up is learning that this perfect life isn't perfect. But each tear was worth it. Thanks Brian I really didn't know that was your heart but having listened it speaks to everyone that has loved and lost, the one that was dear to them. I am lucky I found the one I lost she's here in my heart, her life took a different path, but we met again after 40 years, I loved your version as it is your heart singing. So powerful, so pure.

It is personal for him. He wrote this when he was trying to save his marriage but he was in love with Anita with whom he was having an affair at the same time. It ripped him apart. However, him and Anita have now been happily married for 25 years.
I think a lot of us can say we’ve experienced moments in our lives where these lyrics tell the tale of a difficult time, but hopefully we’ve come through it on the other side and are better for it. The lyrics are raw emotions we can relate to in one way or another. It is an incredibly beautiful song, with one version sang by Freddie and the other by its creator, each unique and powerful in their own right. Thank you, Brian for this crown jewel.

I love this song though it really tugs at my emotions. A sort of confession I think, but leaving no real solution to the mess that had been created. I cannot imagine the pain of leaving one's family behind because there is no love greater than that which we have for our children. As a living descendant of a Divine Hero, which means true Eros as revealed by our ancestors, I have to disagree with you: people have a certain responsibility towards their kids, but that doesn’t include staying miserable for their sake. And it was ok in the end, with the kids. Kids get the parent’s true focus better than anyone else. Just as we should never stay miserable to please our parents... it was obviously a cycle of social programming that Brian finally broke there, the expectations laid upon him early on. The programming hurts, not the choice to be free of it.
The love for our Soul Mate is greater than any other, it is Cosmic, so there shouldn’t be any guilt attached to that, because it is the Truth we all seek. As said, we Kids get it better than anyone else.
@@AdinaIspas It is sad that Brian says he hasn't ever gotten over his feelings of guilt for the part he played in the failure of his marriage and his feelings of failure as a father. I am guessing most of that probably stems from the moral values of his parents that were instilled in him as a child, his close bond with both of his parents and with them being his role models on parenting and marriage. As far as his current wife being his soulmate, I sincerely hope that is the case. I do believe that Brian was a very good father in spite of the fact that he was not able to live together with his children as a family, as he wished. I do believe that between he and Chrissie his children have done fine and have grown to be good parents and good people in general. I think everyone came through all of it just fine with the exception of Brian.
The great thing about life is you can see yourself through someone else's. Growing up is learning that this perfect life isn't perfect. But each tear was worth it. Thanks Brian I really didn't know that was your heart but having listened it speaks to everyone that has loved and lost, the one that was dear to them. I am lucky I found the one I lost she's here in my heart, her life took a different path, but we met again after 40 years, I loved your version as it is your heart singing. So powerful, so pure.
