I remember being 4 or 5, shortly after Freddie's death, and there was a vinyl of Queen constantly playing in my home. My mother loved Queen and she played it while she was cooking dinner every night. Then one day I don't know why but I asked how did Freddie died and my mom answered me that: when you are famous and are a wonderful person, there will be so many people loving you and there is a limit to the love one can receive, and she said in Portuguese exactly what he says in this song "Too much love will kill you". And I was always very inquisitive but this answer in itself silenced all my doubts. I admire how gracefully explained me such a delicate matter, and when I learned English and learned about Aids, the circle closed. Thank you mom.

Amazing how this song is directly related to his great life. Greatest singer and group ever, here it is, August 2021 and it brought tears to my eyes again.
i had the pleasure of seeing Queen in 1984 and also at their last concert at Knebworth. Freddie Mercury's voice was unbelievable and will never be matched. Neither will his stage presence. I am so grateful I got to see him, a true superstar.
Every time I listen to a Queen song I keep thinking, "Imagine if we still had Freddie today or if we had him for 10-20 years more, how many more masterpieces we would have had", and this though just makes me cry...
I have to agree with you 100% If im not watching or listening to Queen, I find myself humming or singing anyone of their songs. Bad moods disappear when one listens to Queen & our beautiful Freddie darling ♥️

This song tells us about freedi's life so well. His addiction to sex, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes all killed him at such a young age. What God given talent of a voice and his music sense but he did not have any self control. Lived a reckless life and lived for the moment. Jim should have come into his life much earlier then I think he would have been more grounded
I'm 18 years old and I if I wasn't for my mother, I never would of fallen in love with all 4 of them! I never got you met Freddie, I was born 2 generations too late. But I miss Freddie, like was there in the 70-80s. It sounds silly, i know, but they are my favorite band.
Same. I'm 21 years old and I love them. Cried a lot watching Bohemian Rhapsody movie a week ago and up til now it lingers. Im having marathon of freddie songs while at work right now because I strangely miss him so 😢
What breaks my heart the most is back in the days, like mid 70's and 80,'s, I loved this group. But the more I think about it, they were ever greater then I ever knew. I never appreciated them like I do now. I should have known better but being young is stupid is all I come up with, and I'm 72 years old and keep coming back and listening to all the Queen videos, man how I miss them. The greatest group and lead singer ever, IMO. RIP Great one. I hope I get to meet you in the next life.
As a 11 year old girl, im the only one in my class, who loves Queen. The other ones listen to a kind of pop, that i do NOT like. When im very sad, Queens music, and Freddie Mercury, screaming AEOH in my head, actually helps me become okay again :) Edit: Hello people... I am almost 13 now, and I still love Queen. Often, people ask me "Wait, you still like Queen? You liked them 3 years ago, to!" My point is, how can you ever get enough of Queen? I love their music, and I always will. Love, to all you wonderful people
The first priority in high school is survival. Just blend in with the crowd. once you graduate, then you can be yourself, but until then, just avoid being yourself, because it is a waste of energy. Observe what the others students are doing and pretty much pretend that your interests in fashion, music, movies, sports is the same. It will take 6 more years, but eventually, you ll be free to become a Queen fan, and nobody will criticize you
TOO MUCH LOVE is off "Made in Heaven" a posthumous release. Freddie gave them as much as he could to work with. Brain said "He was so weak. He sat at a table, in front of the mic' We gave him vodka and cigarettes -he was a (USA) pack a day smoker - "and he never complained.". I'm a vocalist, trained, and have sang my whole life. That Freddie could generate that much projection, that much power, literally on his last legs is unbelieveable.
Every time I listen to this song it brings tears to my eyes.....he was such a master performer....lover of life and lover of songs.....Freddie will always be with us through his songs... Thankyou Freddie 💋
Фредерик, тебя никто никогда не перепоёт! Ты лучший на все времена, навсегда! (Frederik, no one will ever sing how you! You are the best for all time, forever!)
@Harry Warburg Harry "In my defense" no fue escrita por Brian, no recuerdo ahora quien lo escribio, ese tema es de Freddie como solista y es de la misma epoca del tema "Time" tambien de Freddie como solista
I was born in the late 2000's. I miss him dreadfully. I miss him probably more then anything else. I can't wait to see him in heaven. (Or hell. He said in an interview he'd rather be there)
Me, too. I miss his pure passion for music and people. He was such a treasure for the world. Not just because he was the greatest singer. But also because he was true to his dreams and lived more in 45 years than most of us manage in a lifetime.
When that solo kicks in... Man! And then Freddies scream and final verse. That part always sends shivers down my spine. I've felt energy, anger, love, hope and all other kinds of emotional states from their songs but this is the only one that really makes me feel sad and sends shivers down my spine.
In one of the documentaries about Queen, one of Freddie's oldest friends said that Freddie, back in his college days, told him "I'm going to be a pop star". One day he went into the pub where Freddie would go, and he saw Freddie sitting by himself, looking all depressed. When he asked Freddie what was wrong, Freddie said "I'm not going to be a pop star"..... Pause.... And said "I'M GOING TO BE A LEGEND". I bet that guy was eventually blown away that he was right
he crushed these vocals, such power, even more amazing is how close to the end he was,he dug deep, delivered and became something more than a mortal man..awesome and sad at the same time.
I am a fan since 1992, when I was 7. My family first CD was Queen's Greatest Hits II. The detail is that I learned English many years later, so I would love songs, even though I had no idea what the lyrics meant. Their music is hard to label, because they are not an 70s or 80s band. their sound combines elements of many different styles for example.
Do you believe Freddie thought he was a mediocre pianist? The last couple of tours they had a piano player and a guitar player in stage with them because Freddie wanted to "entertain". ... he always did
How can you not know how many Queen fans there are? Queen is one of the biggest and most loved bands of all time. Freddy has quite possibly the greatest voice in the history of music.
"Too Much Love Will Kill You" is a song written by British guitarist Brian May of Queen, Frank Musker, and Elizabeth Lamers. The song reflected the breakdown of May's first marriage and attraction to his future wife, Anita Dobson. It was first recorded by Queen around 1988 or before, and was intended to be on the band's The Miracle album in 1989, but did not make the cut due to legal disputes following the band's decision that all songs on the album would be written by the group as opposed to individuals. After Freddie Mercury's death in 1991, May arranged a solo version, which he performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, and subsequently included on his solo album Back to the Light that same year. Released as a single, it reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. Because it was first played publicly at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, a common misconception is that it was written as a tribute to Freddie Mercury, although it had actually been written several years before he died.
This song absolutely crushes me. I've cried ever since Freddie died and I know I always will. To see such talent, charisma and beauty suffer so badly is heartbreaking ❤👑❤

LYRICS
I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be
Too many bitter tears are raining down on me
I'm far away from home
And I've been facing this alone
For much too long
Oh, I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me
About growing up and what a struggle it would be
In my tangled state of mind
I've been looking back to find
Where I went wrong
Too much love will kill you
If you can't make up your mind
Torn between the lover
And the love you leave behind
You're headed for disaster
'Cause you never read the signs
Too much love will kill you - every time
I'm just the shadow of the man I used to be
And it seems like there's no way out of this for me
I used to bring you sunshine
Now all I ever do is bring you down
Oh, how would it be if you were standing in my shoes
Can't you see that it's impossible to choose
No there's no making sense of it
Every way I go I'm bound to lose
Oh yes
Too much love will kill you
Just as sure as none at all
It'll drain the power that's in you
Make you plead and scream and crawl
And the pain will make you crazy
You're the victim of your crime
Too much love will kill you every time
Yes, too much love will kill you
It'll make your life a lie
Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won't understand why
You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul
But here it comes again
Too much love will kill you
In the end

I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be
Too many bitter tears are raining down on me
I'm far away from home
And I've been facing this alone
For much too long
I feel like no one ever told the truth to me
About growing up and what a struggle it would be
In my tangled state of mind
I've been looking back to find
Where I went wrong
Too much love will kill you
If you can't make up your mind
Torn between the lover and the love you leave behind
You're headed for disaster 'cos you never read the signs
Too much love will kill you every time
I'm just the shadow of the man I used to be
And it seems like there's no way out of this for me
I used to bring you sunshine
Now all I ever do is bring you down
How would it be if you were standing in my shoes
Can't you see that it's impossible to choose?
No, there's no making sense of it
Every way I go I'm bound to lose
Too much love will kill you
Just as sure as none at all.
It'll drain the power that's in you
Make you plead and scream and crawl
And the pain will make you crazy
You're the victim of your crime
Too much love will kill you every time
Too much love will kill you
It'll make your life a lie
Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won't understand why
You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul
But here it comes again
Too much love will kill you
In the end...
In the end.

The first priority in high school is survival. Just blend in with the crowd. once you graduate, then you can be yourself, but until then, just avoid being yourself, because it is a waste of energy. Observe what the others students are doing and pretty much pretend that your interests in fashion, music, movies, sports is the same. It will take 6 more years, but eventually, you ll be free to become a Queen fan, and nobody will criticize you
Same, girl
TOO MUCH LOVE is off "Made in Heaven" a posthumous release. Freddie gave them as much as he could to work with. Brain said "He was so weak. He sat at a table, in front of the mic' We gave him vodka and cigarettes -he was a (USA) pack a day smoker - "and he never complained.".
I'm a vocalist, trained, and have sang my whole life. That Freddie could generate that much projection, that much power, literally on his last legs is unbelieveable.
Very true.

I never realised how many Queen fans exist. I am 13, i play piano and i want to become a producer. Queen fans are never alone❤
