  • Here is an update to the Egg / Fry Grow out tank with all of the changes that needed to be made. Do it yourself Tropical Fish Fry Incubator and Fry grow out tray that fits into a 20g Long. Built with auto water change and adjustable air. This will finally answer your question of how do I raise fish fry to adults.

    • @JadrenAquatics
      @JadrenAquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very very difficult because of the perfect water they require. Some breeders do 100% water changes daily

  • @TimsBitsnPieces
    @TimsBitsnPieces 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Jason, that looks like a lot of extra work, feeding and making sure they have water changes etc.. I love the new system. Is it drawing water from the tank below or getting water from somewhere else for the drippers into the containers?

    • @JadrenAquatics
      @JadrenAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The water changes are actually all automatic so it has reduced the work load considerably. You can see more details about it here th-cam.com/video/OvTnT34L84A/w-d-xo.html

    • @JadrenAquatics
      @JadrenAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think I have about 17 different types right now and yes I want to breed them, the problem is right now I did not put them in species specific tanks so there is always something to pick off the eggs before I see them, so I need more tanks lol

  • @83silverdub
    @83silverdub 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video! what paint did you use for the trays

  • @johnsacco8555
    @johnsacco8555 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Neat setup, but uses aquarium space. I use trays for my corys. Take out 40 to 50 percent of the water a day. Get water from seasoned tank. I started loosing them at 3 weeks. Problem was ammonia even with water changes. More food, bigger fry. Now split fry up after two weeks. Dump them in a bigger tank soon after. I use Java moss for cover and it filters. Transport all fish with baster. Warning: You are cycling your overflow into a tank also with fish. Watch your ammonia buildup.

    • @JadrenAquatics
      @JadrenAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's way I created the system so it constantly doing massive water changes automatically so that I never have to worry about Ammonia build up since my sponge filter can handle much more than is produced. Thanks!

  • @darryldekeyser
    @darryldekeyser 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you feed the brine shrimp in the system, do you still have to clean out shortly after? Or just let the system and filter do the work?

    How do you use this to hatch eggs? I know you can use it to grow out fry but how do you hatch eggs in it?

    • @JadrenAquatics
      @JadrenAquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eggs are hatched out in small containers with methylene blue. If you watch the video on breeding red eye tetras I made it breaks it down there. Thanks

  • @jsaquatics1871
    @jsaquatics1871 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you add methylene blue every day when you do the water change?

    • @JadrenAquatics

      No I'm slowly diluting it so that when the fry are born very little methylene is left

  • @broay73

    do u no why when i moved about 100 fry out of the angelfish tank to a plastic bowl most of them died 2 days later? i see theres still some alive i feed them brine shrimp and do daily water changes. but the ones i left in the original tank are all stil alive.

    • @JadrenAquatics

      Not really sure they are just really fragile that young. Sometimes you have to feed 5 times a day
