The same happened to me. I was always a big multiplayer FPS guy but when I moved away from a setup and just got a steam deck I’ve been playing so much games and so many more types of games. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks so much!
I’ve had mine since February this year and I agree I was getting bored of playing in my Xbox tied to my tv when my wife wasn’t watching tv I had a switch lite and I played all the games I wanted to play on there and got bored as well trying to find a game id play. the deck oled has definitely reignited my love for gaming again it’s a nice all in one package
Seriously bro great job, I would love to have someone like you as a TH-cam coach I make videos for 3 channels but idk how to get my videos crispy like this with the sound and editing too.
@@ThisCantBeRealTV my Twitter DMs are open! Link is in the video description. I’d love to chat about the creative process and production! Hit me up man!
Dude, I was SHOCKED that you didn’t have several hundred K Subs when I checked it. Based on the quality of this video, you’re heading in that direction soon, brother! Absolutely awesome! ⭐️☝️
Thank you so much. It’s crazy to hear that. I just enjoy making stuff man, It’s such a grounded and enveloping process. I’m glad people are enjoying it so much. I can’t imagine having a few hundred K subs. That would be kinda terrifying.😂
One of the reasons that I choose SD over other products is you can turn off the power anytime, and you get the same screen after turning on the power in 1 second, that is huge to a busy gamer like me.
steam OS is king for sure, and nothing compares to the ergonomics and design of steam deck and most of all the features. my only gripe (and a deal breaker) is the limitations and restrictions of games we want to play but can’t
@@rocknflip66 the other reason is, I don’t played AAA games at all, I love indie games with developers’ passion and love. That is why I don’t need others but SD.
Glad to hear! The steam deck has done the same for me. The deck also has me trying so many more types of games that I never would’ve tried. Thanks for watching!
The Deck has recontextualized my entire relationship with gaming. I still have a strong gaming PC that I love but I now look at some games as “deck games” that I would rather play laying in bed, sitting outside, or on the go and now I can. I keep mine in a case in my bag any downtime I can one tap power and continue whatever I was playing and then pause it just as easily when Its time to go. It was kind of an impulse buy at the time but I play it far more than I thought I would.
I never buy games as a console gamer. They cost to much.. i ordered my steamdeck and i still dont even know when it coming and i already bought gta5, rdr2, subnautica and no mans sky all for under $100.. let alone the free content i intend to install. Gunna be over a day of installing, updating and whatever else. Not to mention i have to get comfortable with the deck and steam in general. I FINALLY have my nintendo switch that i can watch movies on. Sweet
100% man. Get Emudeck installed on a micro SD and load up tons and tons of emulated free games. On top of that check out humble bundle and G2A.com. You can get Steam keys for pennies on the dollar sometimes. Steam is just so so so much cheaper than console games now days. Even when it comes to the first party console games. PlayStation first party games are way cheaper on steam sales than on PlayStation. Steam Deck is the way to go!
Steam Deck is a steal, for an 800p low end PC in your hand, you can achieve relatively on par or better performance than a base PS4 in many instances, powerful bit of kit for a mobile device. The Deck has its limits, but if you compromise and tweak settings, you can run a lot of modern games, many of which run great hooked up to a monitor or TV. The Deck within a couple of years will also, in comparison to paying online on a Console, will in that respect pay itself off £60 each year due to no online multiplayer paywall, plus you get Mods and frequent Steam sales. Steam Deck is a great device.
@@theprmstrful1 I thought I’d miss cod but I wouldn’t wanna play cod in the deck to be honest. I play a ton of black ops 3 zombies on the deck though. You are 100% correct about Destiny. It is absolutely criminal that Bungie hasn’t optimized the anti cheat for Steam OS. Destiny is perfect for the steam deck.
I’m glad you enjoyed that! My goal with all my tech videos is to try and communicate the experience of actually owning and living with the gadget rather than all the cool numbers that don’t REALLY matter to someone who wants to get the said awesome gadget. Thanks so much for watching!
My Steam Deck OLED is the best entertainment purchase I have ever made in my entire life. I gamed as a kid on a Xbox 360 and GameCube, but didn’t want to buy an expensive PC, or new gen console that can’t mod, work as a computer, doesn’t have enough backwards compatibility, and will be obsolete in a couple years. I just wanted to game casually and don’t need to play competitive online FPS with high FPS and graphics. 😅 I just wanted to play Skyrim, Persona 5, Elden Ring, Spiderman, Halo, other RPG games of the year I never got to play and all my GameCube games at a humble FPS and graphics all in one place. 100% recommend to anyone like me.
Im Kinda similar. I do like playing the big shooters but I play those on a dedicated machine. The steam deck is the best way to play everything else. Love playing all of those classics in bed or on the go. Thanks so much for watching!
Brother. You ever been getting through some constipation sitting on the toilet AND beaten an Elden Ring boss at the same time? The amount of accomplishment you can feel with a steam deck on the toilet is incredible.
@@Czeey17 I’m gonna return to Twitch streaming when I hit like 5k subs and think I could go stream and hold a handful of viewers. First stream is going to be “Elden Ring Speedrun On Steam Deck On Toilet Any%”😂
Have an old model steamdeck, have it triple boot with windows, steam os and batocera. upgraded the sticks with gullikit plus 2tb storage and 1tb microsd. Very useful and awesome device.
Dude that’s EPIC. The steam deck is such an amazing gadget because of that. You can just do anything you want to it and it’s pretty compatible with all of those changes.
Andrew, not gonna lie, this channel is going to be big if you keep the content coming. But looking at your setup with all the channels und merch, I think this thing has been planned very well. Really looking forward to more of your videos!
Thank you so much😊 I didn’t actually plan it out to much. In a bit of a creativity crisis recently but I love making stuff and will keep making stuff. Might jump between different kinds of stuff but I’ll always Ben creating. Thanks so much for watching!❤️
Right? I mean you have to buy it with a steam balance so I just sold stuff on the marketplace for cheap so it would instantly sell and got a couple hundred bucks off.😂
I did similar 😅. Had cases from 2014 to like 2019 and made like $250 sold a couple skins I paid 3-15 $ for and can get half off a deck now. Really wild how inflated csgo stuff has gotten. Profitting in a game because of skins is a strange feeling
Finally some honest description of the situation 👍. I also intend to switch from PC to console after almost two decades (I could have chosen a strong stationary one) but something about this Steam Deck charmed me, I hesitated whether to wait until SteamDeck 2 comes out, but your words confirmed my decision that I'm buying myself a SteamDeck for Christmas🎉😊, I have a VERY rich library of my PC STEAM I've never played most of them, so it'll be a bit of fun. As you say it's a community.... Thanks
No problem! Thank you so much for watching! The steam deck is incredible and I still use it a ton. Also ended up picking up a ps5 pro a couple days ago. Video on that one soon.👀
I recently bought SD OLED. I can't put that thing down. I feel like this is the best purchase i have ever made in a long time. I am playing Alpha Sapphire right. Installed BotW, 3D World, and Xenoblade X. I am amazed how well it runs Witcher 3 and RDR2 even at lower setting it still unbelievably beautiful. I never thought in my life of playing those games in handheld. The fact that i am using Manjaro KDE Plasma for a long time makes it even better since i am used to everything the desktop mode has to offer. Everything tick the box for me.
Awesome video! I’ve been debating getting a handheld for a while now and this answered so many questions I had about the steam deck. I’ve just subscribed and I can’t wait to do a deep dive to see what else I can learn!
Im actually really happy with the LCD model. There have been updates recently that allow you to change adound the color and gamma, so the colors pop just as vibrant as the OLED. My SD is an emulator powerhouse. Plays Switch games full speed. I actually sold my Switch to buy a SD
Fantastic overall review - my compliments, Andrew ! I have an older 1st version LCD Deck, but am gonna order the fancy OLED one tonight, based on your great insights ☺️
Thank you so so much for the kind words. Means the world.😊 I’m super excited for you! I hope you enjoy the steam deck OLED. Thank you so much for watching.❤️
Thank you so much man. Means the world😊. Currently uploading my newest video. Worked super hard to keep pushing the bar. Hope it makes you and others proud!
Hey brother great video! I too just got the OLED but like you said not much time for games so I totally relate. Anyway I know this channel is gonna grow like crazy man. Got my sub!🎉
Thank you so much man. That means the world. The support I’ve been getting from people is mind blowing and it’s really something else. Glad you’re enjoying your steam deck. It’s just the coolest gadget. Love the thing to death.
You did really great man, i watched this video and then went to subscribe and was very surprised that you didn't have more subs. You definitely deserve more man. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll be there in no time!

@@AndrewTaylorYT thanks! I’m gonna watch your make the deck better video when it arrives. Have you considered doing a video on your favorite must games on the deck OLED right now?
I’m so hyped for you man! Make sure to order a micro SD and I highly highly recommend downloading some ROMs so you can install Emudeck and get straight to playing old stuff soon as you want. Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed!!! Have a great time with the steam deck!
The Steam Deck is the ultimate gaming machine. I've got a Batocera drive that I boot into for retro gaming and I've got my entire Steam library available too. I can't lose.
Steam deck arrived just before my birthday Im loving it. I plan on putting the bigger titles on the main ssd and indie and rpgs on a micro sd once I need one
I can only echo what many others said in the comments. You have a really great on camera presence. Loved this video and as a steamdeck owner, I agree with every point you said!
Thank you so much man! Means a lot that you guys think that and I’m incredibly humbled by it. I’m glad the steam deck owners are agreeing with me! I love this handheld and the community behind it.😊
Had no idea about the community marketplace and I've had my steam deck for a few months now. I'm so looking forward to downloading some modded zombies maps!

I actually bought a used LCD for 280€, spend the rest on the Modcase and a Dock, never looked back and it really gave me that switch feeling i had when i got one of those :D
The SD OLED is pretty slick and just about amazing! I was lucky enough to pick up the LE. If you're on the fence, pick it up. Great video buddy. You gained a subscriber.
First time watching. Love your insight and video quality is fantastic. Deserve much more subs my friend and you just got one from me. Keep up the great work!
I remember having a gameboy & an atari lynx now look where we're at. my deck is SUPER cool. My missus is now jealous with the amount of time i spend on it instead of her lol.good vid bro keep it up liked n subscribed you deserve it for your no nonsense vid!
Dude thank you so much for the love. I can’t tell you how much it means. Funny enough i think my girlfriend is way happier now that instead of playing at my desk i lounge around with her and play games on my steam deck instead.😂
Great video! Had the Steam deck almost a year and I love it. Just recently got into Switch emulation and it is so easy! I just wish the nintendo emulators were a bit intuitive with setting controls.
I’m a retro game collector. I own over 30 different game systems and over 700+ games. And I will say the Steam Deck is single handed the greatest game console I ever purchased and played in my entire life. No contest.
Honestly I feel the same. I don’t have the collection that you do but I have owned many consoles and the Steam Deck just feels made for the user in the best way possible. As you’re an avid collector I’m curious your thoughts on the analogue pocket. That’s a handheld I’ve been eyeing and it could be fun for a video!
@@AndrewTaylorYT honestly the AP pretty damn good. I love it that third party companies are finding new ways to enjoy original hardware in the best quality possible. Whether it’s through conversion display cables or new hardware/software that will display the games in the quality they were meant to be seen. Not everyone has the no how to emulate games and sometimes there are technical issues when emulating. So Analogue Pocket is something I’ve considered getting to play my Gameboy collection.
@alexandertheresurrection2810 I’ll have to grab a couple game boy games I used to enjoy and pick up and analogue pocket. I adore the design of the product. I’ll have to do a video on it!!
Incredible deal. I got one of those from GameStop a few months back to effectively trial whether id want a deck or not. I loved it so i returned it and ordered an OLED. The steam deck is just so sick.
Thanks so much!! My GameCube setup is so amazing I love it. Been thinking of getting a mini PC and loading it with hundred of GameCube games and having it boot straight into an emulator. 4K 16:9 GameCube is the best.
I've been on the fence about picking up a Steam Deck and have found this video really useful, so thank you! This was an excellent review! I plan to use mine for cosy emulation sessions on the couch/ in bed, but I also wanted to use it in docked mode for local-multiplayer splitscreen gaming. Gamecube is my preferred platform of choice to do this with, but I was just wondering, have you tested your multiplayer setup with any other platforms? Thanks for the video!
I’ve played some steam games local co-op but as far as emulation goes I haven’t went past the GameCube. Emudeck has all kinds of fantastic controller editing systems so I have no doubt you could comfortably do it on all systems.
Great video, I just sold my Rog Ally Z1E and purchased a 1TB SD OLED, I found that I dont really like playing AAA games on a handheld, they are a much better experience on a desktop, much prefer simpler RPG's and platformers on a handheld and an OLED SD will be perfect for that use case.
Thanks so much! Been working on upping the production quality. Next week on the 22nd I’ve got a video lined up that we are doing tons of after effect VFX in. Excited to see how it’s received! Thanks so much for watching!
3:42 dude they did not switch to a new chip they're still using the van Gogh APU. They did however do a die shrink so when that happens the chip becomes more efficient the smaller it is
I didn’t know that. I’d just seen multiple people say it was a new chip but it was the same power. It was just a more efficient version of the previous chip. Which kinda sounds like what you’re saying lol.
You sold CSGO skins to buy a Steam Deck OLED? One of us, one of us 🙂 Being serious, I just found your channel on my homepage. You video looks great, your audio sounds great, your edits are tight and I appreciate the music running in the background; amazing production. Looking forward to more videos in the future. I totally agree that the overlays on the deck is so good, I want the same setup on every gaming rig. Quick questions, what's the game you play at 3:36 & 15:44?
Thanks so much man! I work hard on these and it’s so special knowing everyone is enjoying! A lot of people have been asking me about that game. I guess I didn’t know it was that small of a game lol. It’s called Gunfire Reborn. It’s an FPS Rougelike and I loooove that game. Great fun.
I don't get nearly as much use out of my steamdeck as I'd hoped because i just can't make myself enjoy controller based inputs for the types of games I tend to play when everything is just so much better on a mouse and keyboard...that said, quick gaming sessions, mobile gaming sessions? It's nice to have as an option. And as an upside, specific games i have issues getting to work properly on windows work flawlessly, like fallout 3. I do really need to work on the emulation side of things, though... that's a real selling point for this device.
Ive been tending to play a lot of big single player RPGs and adventure games and such so a controller has felt pretty nice. Shooters are hit and miss. Id rather play on MNK for most of them. Highly recommend looking up a video on installing Emudeck. it's incredible. Once you get it installed and all of your ROMs in the folders you can just add emulation station to steam and access it all easily in game mode.
I got the Asus rog ally for 400 dollars and even if there are flaws I love the asus rog ally because it can play gamepass easily. I thought about getting the steamdeck but I don't have that many games on steam so I decided not to take it great video I love the editing! you deserve more subs!
I’m glad you got such a good deal on the ROG! I’d love to see Xbox come to the market with a handheld console built to play gamepass games. I feel like they’re more likely to release a handheld that does game streaming. Hope they do an Xbox for gamepass or something. Thanks for the compliments and thank you for watching!
Thank you! The LCD is great. It can be picked up for a killer price. If you’re getting anywhere near the OLEDs price though I highly recommend just getting the OLED. It was a fantastic improvement upon the LCD.
That’s my point though in a lot of these comments. The steam deck is amazing for my casual on the go gaming. For 800 bucks I’d rather get an actual PC.
That sounds like such an amazing combo. I remember absolutely loving my PS Vita. It wasn’t my favorite game on the Vita but I’ve been really wanting to play Sound Shapes again😂
Awesome video, I'm in the market for a mobile system. I've narrowed my choices down to either the Steam Deck OLED or the Asus ROG Ally. I play a lot of Apex Legends and I wanted to know if you've tried playing it on the Steam Deck. I really am interested in the frame rate and max settings when docked.
I’m happy to download it and give it a go. I know that it’s a verified game so it’ll work by default. I think the real question is, do you play just to have fun? Or are you trying to hit pred on the ranked ladder? If its ranked I can’t see you finding to much success on the deck. If you wanna reach out in DMs on twitter i can download the game and check the settings you’re wanting!
Apex plays very well on the steam deck I’ve tried it out recently it’s not my cup of tea I used to play back in the day with friends on Xbox but it’s still a great game
The great thing about the steam deck oled is that it makes me want to play it and it makes me want to play different games. I can imagine the LCD not accomplishing that. The experience on the OLED just does the extra little things to make the experience fantastic. I recommend it and I’d bet you’d probably use it more.
Thanks so much. Means a lot to hear that! The channel is still under a year old but I’ve learned so so much every video. It’s a ton of fun and it’s really special to hear people think it’s so good. Thank you!!
Currently using a Switch OLED & while i do love it, my curiosity is really getting to me. Me & my wife are going to go half on the 512 GB OLED in September. I have a spare 1 TB Micro SD card so I don't mind the 512 base storage. My biggest issue with the Switch is all the extra setup needed when using my Viture Pro glasses. I plan on getting the attachment for the SteamDeck to use the Glasses but its nice to be able to just plug in directly to a gaming handheld and play. Also great video. Any plans on checking out XR glasses in the near future??
You might be psychic😂 The current release date I'm aiming for is August 16th for my Viture XR video. Super excited to give them a go. Never tried glasses like these. Just headsets like the Oculus and Vision Pro.
@@AndrewTaylorYT - Nice, we're you able to get the Pro Mobile Dock because it's the same battery capacity as the v1 Dock but it's more efficient, giving you more hours. Just sucks that it's shipping was delayed to late august
@@bryancartagena3286 Currently in talks with Viture. I should be getting my hands on the dock pro. I’ll post pictures on twitter when things get in! My twitter should be in the description.
Been watching reviews on this all day, love yours! Raise points more than pure specs from a gamer perspective of why to actually get it depsite me having a pc and a switch. Sit down and play in the short time ive got between work
I’m glad you enjoyed. Thanks so much for watching! I actually shoot for the idea of talking about experience with different tech products rather than the specs. Specs don’t paint the whole picture EVER and the user experience is paramount. There aren’t enough videos that go into how it feels to live with a gadget. I also find it helps avoid arguments as when it comes to computer engineering, there’s always someone smarter than you that wants to fight about it. But you can’t argue with the subjective experience of using and item and having it apart of your daily life. That’s the goal in trying to hit with my videos. Glad it resonated. Thanks again so so much for watching! Means so much that people enjoy the videos.😊
I'm on the lcd, but I'm on a budget. But this is probably the most significant gaming purchase of my life. Besides Nintendo, I just got access to my favorite games of all time on the go. As a relatively new father of a 17 month old, it's a great damn machine.
Happy for you! It’s a great way to play all of the best games ever made. Ontop of that you have fantastic options to get games on a budget like G2A. The steam deck is unmatched.
Have you done a video with a simple list of your favorite games on the steam deck yet? If not you should. Like a list 1-5 or something. I’m getting mine today and need suggestions! I’ll be on Reddit after work deciding where to start and what to download.
That’s actually a great idea for a video and I’ll have to make it. In order to help you out though I’ll list some of my favorite games on the Steam deck. No particular order because I’d have to really really think about what game edges out what. -Ghost Of Tsushima is amazing on the deck. If you never got a chance to play it then I highly highly recommend. The main game and DLC are fantastic. -Elden Ring might be one of the best games of all time and I’ve put countless hours in on the steam deck. -Gunfire Reborn is a super fun FPS rouge like that I randomly open and play all of the time. -Old Lego Games, I know this is kind of dumb but I’ve been going through and playing games like Lego Indiana Jones 2 and Lego Star Wars the complete saga. -Emudeck. Make sure to go watch my 5 things you need to do on steam deck video. Download Emudeck and get the ROMs of your fav old games. I’ve been playing legend of Zelda wind waker and plenty of Mario kart double dash. -the master chief collection is a good time if you wanna go back and play all the old Halo campaigns. Good time. -middle earth shadow of Mordor and shadow or war are a good time in the deck as well. - another weird one that’s kinda janky but works when you can get in. Specifically black ops 3 zombies. You can download modded maps from the Steam community marketplace and it’s a blast. Lots of great community made content. This one is janky though and might crash once or twice. Make sure to load maps in solo play first. -Super simple game but if you haven’t played OXENFREE, do it. Play that game. -some of the recent final fantasy games like ffXV and VII remake are great. -Ori and the blind forest is super good as well and I’ve played it again on deck. Hopefully that’s a good collection. There’s a lot of fun games to play. I’d just start by searching for legendary games from the last 10-15 years and playing them. All kinds of different genres and experiences to be had and they’re a ton of fun on the deck. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching!!😊
I found a nice Limited Edition Steam Deck on Ebay and I've been loving it ever since! I already installed a good amount of emulators plus found a copy of Deadpool and been all over it! I'm looking into dual boot, just because I've been playing lots of COD Zombies due to Black Ops 6 lol and I wanna play it on my Steam Deck but I need Windows on it, what are your thoughts on Dual booting? have you done it? do you recommend it?
Only time I’ve ever done dual booting was back on boot camp with older iMacs. I’d personally choose one or the other. I don’t really like dual booting that much. I was playing a ton of black ops 3 modded zombies on my steam deck and having a great time. I wouldn’t really wanna play the newest one on my steam deck though. The file sizes for the current COD games are astronomical. Also I read yesterday that to play black ops 6 zombies you have to have an internet connection.😞
I only play gamepass stuff on Xbox, so the only games I buy are on switch and deck. I find more often than not, buying thru steam to play on deck is preferable vs switch. Deck is the thing the industry needed. Nintendo needs a competitor, and handheld segment is way more interesting than the home console options
I 100% agree with you on this. Sadly I don’t think that the steam deck is actually a Nintendo switch competitor. Nintendo lives in a weird in between world where they don’t really directly compete with any other video game console manufacturers or developers really. There’s a family friendly and accessible system that sells on first party mascots. We haven’t really seen a Nintendo competitor since the Sega consoles. Can’t really have the Nintendo experience anywhere else.
If you played mostly casually then 100%! If you enjoyed multiplayer and dabbled in more serious competitive stuff then it probably isn’t super for you. Either way it’s a phenomenal gadget.
12:20 yep, seconded here. steam's verified/playability labels really can't be trusted lmao. bought mighty no. 9 (i know) on a whim since it was on sale and it's supposedly unsupported. booted it up on my deck and it runs a dream.
I wonder if Valve will get better about this? I feel like valve isn’t gonna do anything about it and just continue to pursue proton updates in hopes that everything will work on the deck in time. Best rule of thumb is to just google a game lol. The steam deck community is fantastic and incredibly helpful.
Bought 6 lcd models since launch one smashed on stolen one died in surgery two got wet 😮😮😢 was gonna try an OLED but at the 64gb lcd price I can't help but just get another shipped these things are a steal thank gabe for steam valve and Steamdeck ❤❤❤
They really are a good deal. The steam deck feels so pro consumer because they just let the end user have a good time. They also don’t charge super high prices for them. I’ve been wanting to attempt surgery but I’ve never been a computer builder or anything so I’m nervous. I really wanna get a translucent purple shell for the deck.
Hey Andrew. I couldn’t decide whether to buy steam deck oled or switch oled with cwf. I have a nice gaming laptop and huge steam library but when I think I could play those games on my laptop in 4K high graphics rather than 800p medium on steam deck, I get confused.
Well I guess it depends on your priorities. Remember that resolution isn’t a smaller number is worse big number is better thing all of the time. Resolutions just say how many pixels are on a screen. In a small screen like the Steam deck especially when the pixels are OLEDs and vibrant you’ll find yourself forgetting that it’s technically “low resolution” because of your pixels per inch. CFW Switch OLED would be sick! I guess it really depends on what you want and what your priorities are. You might be able to do a lot of what you want from the switch on the steam deck and in that case the steam deck might be a better purpose as you can do even more with it. If you wanna DM me on Twitter/X we can chat about it! I’d need more info about your use case in order to strongly recommend one over the other.
Is the Steam Deck a good option for someone who is not a PC gamer? I've been thinking about getting a SD or a Asus ROG Ally, I'm mainly a console player and play all consoles but I love handheld, sometimes I wish I could be playing other than Nintendo games when I'm laying in bed, however having never own a PC for gaming I don't even know if I need a PC to be able to use a Steam Deck or the Rog Ally.
First of all. Thanks for watching! Second, the steam deck is a great choice for a console gamer who wants to move towards PC gaming. Like I said in the video. Steam OS feels almost identical to a consoles OS. This allows you to easily play games without some of the sharp edges that PC gaming on windows normally has. I’d go with the steam deck over the ROG. I think you’ll find that the steam deck is a far better and more comfortable handheld as well as way simpler as the Ally runs windows. Hope this helps!
I obviously can only make an educated guess here but id say probably a good while. It seems like a lot of current games are pushing technology in the ray tracing range and world immersion route. Ray tracing is something you never use on the steam deck really and even when devs push things like NPCs and things on screen you can turn down settings to run it on the steam deck. You also have access to Steam on the steam deck which lets you pretty much play anything from any era. So if you’re concerned with playing only the newest and highest budget games at max settings the deck wont serve you. If you wanna play games and have a good time the deck is probably a safe bet for purchase.
Wait for the new AMD chipsets to come out. It's like 30% faster than the 780m, which are in the rog ally etc I have a legion go and it gets like 75-90 fps on Monster Hunter World Base PS4 is 30 fps PS4 pro is 60fps
Thank you for your insights. I want the steam deck oled but there are many options between PlayStation and Switch and the Steam deck. PlayStation requires a plus subscription. Steam deck doesn’t require a subscription so it’s really tempting.
I’m planning to the the oled. Already have the steam controller. Can you tell me how to increase the accuracy of the track pads? I mean, I never actually did any tweak. Do you usually increase or decrease the gyro sensitivity? 😅
I have my Steam Deck OLED for 3 weeks now and I'm playing more games than ever. What an inviting machine.

Because he talks fast? He says Liberry lol.

One of the reasons that I choose SD over other products is you can turn off the power anytime, and you get the same screen after turning on the power in 1 second, that is huge to a busy gamer like me.
It’s one of those features that makes the deck so far ahead in ease of use and accessibility.
steam OS is king for sure, and nothing compares to the ergonomics and design of steam deck and most of all the features. my only gripe (and a deal breaker) is the limitations and restrictions of games we want to play but can’t
@@rocknflip66 the other reason is, I don’t played AAA games at all, I love indie games with developers’ passion and love. That is why I don’t need others but SD.
That’s the reason I loved the switch as well is the suspend function of just tapping the power button
As a busy dad the steam deck is definitely getting me back into gaming more so than my switch ever did
Glad to hear!
Do the saved games ARE shared? I mean, you play in Pc and deck with same saves?
If it supports cloud saves, yes @@kinh0t
Ill look into it! Thanks for the suggestion!@boogidaball
@@sabagecabage7828 Anytime man! My DMs are always open on twitter if you need any help or other suggestions! Thanks again for watching the video!
I love my steam deck OLED. Absolutely no regrets.
Dude SAME. Like I said, it’s one of the coolest gadgets in general. It’s so pro consumer that it’s wild. Such a fun piece of tech.
Only thing I hate about it is no destiny 2 or or cod
@@theprmstrful1 I thought I’d miss cod but I wouldn’t wanna play cod in the deck to be honest. I play a ton of black ops 3 zombies on the deck though. You are 100% correct about Destiny. It is absolutely criminal that Bungie hasn’t optimized the anti cheat for Steam OS. Destiny is perfect for the steam deck.
@@theprmstrful1maybe try the ROG Ally X.
I know I’m late but I just bought mine. You’re right no regrets😎
Awesome video! Really helped answer all my queries on the Steam Deck for a casual gamer, without being overwhelmed by the tech spec info 😂👍🏼
Very very professional looking video, love your sound, your lighting and just the video you made, subscribed !
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed!!

"Sold a bunch of old cs skins and bought a steam deck" is such a hilariously awesome yet surprisingly common experience ive heard
@@mkwsoxfan it’s strange but I love it.😂
Finally some honest description of the situation 👍.
Glad to hear you’re loving it! The Deck is so amazing.
as a content creation beginner myself, I admire the time and effort you must've put into this video. Definitely earned my sub.

Great video! Had the Steam deck almost a year and I love it. Just recently got into Switch emulation and it is so easy! I just wish the nintendo emulators were a bit intuitive with setting controls.
I hear that. Glad you enjoyed. I haven’t tried switch emulation yet but I’d like to. Thanks so much for watching!

I nabbed a refurbished 64gb for $230 from GameStop, slapped 1 tb ssd and a 512gb sd card.

Incredible deal. I got one of those from GameStop a few months back to effectively trial whether id want a deck or not. I loved it so i returned it and ordered an OLED. The steam deck is just so sick.
Great video brother! The game cube set up sold me!
Thanks so much!! My GameCube setup is so amazing I love it. Been thinking of getting a mini PC and loading it with hundred of GameCube games and having it boot straight into an emulator. 4K 16:9 GameCube is the best.
Picked up the oled model and the 90hz makes games that are capped at 60hz play extremely smooth.
I agree! Congrats on the new purchase. Thanks for watching!
Great video. With this level of production quality, this channel should do very well👍
Much appreciated! Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed😊
Your channel deserves to grow. Such a quality video compared to famous youtubers, congrats!
Oh my goodness. Thank you so much! I’m working hard and having fun!!

Glad you’re enjoying the steam deck! It’s such a comfy way to play casual games. The emulation is also fantastic.

One of us, one of us 🙂
Being serious, I just found your channel on my homepage.
Great fun.

What’s been working for me for more immersion is really good noise cancelling headphones.
Those do the job for sure.
Awesome video!!
what is your opinion on the LCD model? I was thinking of picking one up but I don’t know if it’s worth it.
Thank you! The LCD is great. It can be picked up for a killer price. If you’re getting anywhere near the OLEDs price though I highly recommend just getting the OLED. It was a fantastic improvement upon the LCD.
I've had my Deck OLED since it came out, and I pick up my Rog Ally X on Thursday. Best of both worlds. $800 for the Ally was a bit steep, though.
That’s my point though in a lot of these comments. The steam deck is amazing for my casual on the go gaming. For 800 bucks I’d rather get an actual PC.
Love this channel. Have you had a chance to check out the Lenovo go and the asus rog ally x? If so what are your thoughts?
If you check my channel you’ll see that both have received videos in the last couple months. Thanks so much for watching!
Steam Deck OLED and a modded PS Vita are all I need 😊
amazing devices
This video is top quality! Awesome sir!

ive had the lcd for about a year and a half and it hasnt seen much use at all but i still really want the oled
The great thing about the steam deck oled is that it makes me want to play it and it makes me want to play different games. I can imagine the LCD not accomplishing that. The experience on the OLED just does the extra little things to make the experience fantastic. I recommend it and I’d bet you’d probably use it more.

My biggest issue with the Switch is all the extra setup needed when using my Viture Pro glasses. Any plans on checking out XR glasses in the near future??

I’ve been watching a lot of review videos for the steam deck and I swear every single one mentions being able to play on the toilet. 😂
Trust me. You won’t understand it until you accidentally crank a couple hours out in Elden ring on the toilet.😂
They need to see a doctor. I'm a minute tops in the khazi.
Also I read yesterday that to play black ops 6 zombies you have to have an internet connection.😞
great video, making it even more painful waiting for mine to ship lol
Thanks so much! I remember the wait. It’ll arrive soon and it’s gonna be amazing.
Im debating buying the steam deck oled 512gb since my gaming laptop died should i do it?
If you played mostly casually then 100%! If you enjoyed multiplayer and dabbled in more serious competitive stuff then it probably isn’t super for you. Either way it’s a phenomenal gadget.
Yes.
Perfect for console gamers like me 😊 i have nintendon switch too, but lately been playing with steamdeck intensely
How many years will the oled be able to play modern games? I could buy it or I could just wait for the next PlayStation console
It's like 30% faster than the 780m, which are in the rog ally etc
I have a legion go and it gets like 75-90 fps on Monster Hunter World
Base PS4 is 30 fps PS4 pro is 60fps
Thank you for your insights. I want the steam deck oled but there are many options between PlayStation and Switch and the Steam deck. PlayStation requires a plus subscription. Steam deck doesn’t require a subscription so it’s really tempting.
@@HtS643KyS6555GxQ3edA I’d highly recommend it. It’s pretty awesome.
@@AndrewTaylorYT Ray tracing moar liek gay tracing amirite?!
its great
My deck gets here today! 😁😁😁
congrats!
great video! kudos!
Thanks so much😊
FYI - you can get 90Hz on almost every game by locking FPS to 45. Most AAA games that is a sweet spot for FPS and gets you 90Hz too
Noted. Locking 45 in the steam deck software or on the game specifically?
@@AndrewTaylorYT steam deck itself from the power options panel via the button by the right trackpad.
@@strobe878 thanks!
I’m planning to the the oled. Already have the steam controller. Can you tell me how to increase the accuracy of the track pads? I mean, I never actually did any tweak. Do you usually increase or decrease the gyro sensitivity? 😅
The track pad depends on your sensitivity and I think your acceleration. If you want super good accuracy you prob wanna turn off acceleration.
I just liked the video here's one more subs for you keep up the good work buddy.....
Thanks so much man. Got a lot of awesome video ideas. Hope to make you all proud.😊
