There are studies indicating 360 - 400 mcg K2 MK7 is best to reverse plaque. I personally use that amount with 10,000 iu D3 and Nattokinase 4000 FU (200 mg). I have MTHFR homozygous double mutation and elevated LP(a) both are genetic predispositions for arterial problems. In 2010 I had 7 bypass surgery. 3 years ago (2020) cardiologist said I have major plaque again at which time I began the aforementioned protocol along with Life Extension EV olive oil 1-2 tbsp daily and Carson's lemon flavored cod liver 1tbsp as well as Cardio Peak. Cardiologist fought me hard to get a defibrillator and PCSK9 extreme cholesterol lowering injections 3 years ago. I refused and much to his chagrin he eventually has admitted something is working and said I only need annual check in . He never once inquired what I was doing. Imagine that. BTW my ejection fraction was 20 three years ago . Now it's about 50. At 70 I feel great, go to gym, have regular sex, life is good.

      - Donating blood once every few months drops heart attack risk by almost 90 percent. (drops blood viscosity and makes blood cells more flexible. Looks like that's what nattokinase does as well. Be careful adding blood thinning stuff on top of each other.)
      - Eating omega 3 fish (cooked in a manner that the omega 3 is still there) lowers heart attack risk by a third. (so yeah, that fish oil your taking is awesome)
      - The strongest correlation to heart attacks is vitamin e level. (once again, it's a blood viscosity thing. Essentially stops clotting. But you're already taking nattokinase which does the same thing.) Lot of books written about vitamin e and heart health.
      - Linus Pauling and Mathias Rath insist LP(a) is there to patch small tears in artery wall. And once its there, all the other inflammatory risks take over and grow the clot. So they suggested taking a lot of vitamin c n essentially collagen to keep arterial walls healthy. Essentially renders the LP(a) moot.
      - EDTA chelation also clears out calcium and lead in the entire body really well really really fast.
      - Lead levels are one of the highest risk factors for cardiovascular events.
      - B vitamins knock out homocysteine which is also a huge factor for heart disease. If you have MTHFR then you should be taking methylated b vitamins like folinic acid. Otherwise, homocysteine levels will be high.
      - and you're already taking vitamin d, mag, n k2
I just thought I'd mention this stuff to you cause I'm starting to have my own issues and I'm always annoyed that people didn't tell me stuff like this. Even these influencers. Yes, k2 is cool for heart health. But just mention the other stuff real quick you know? lol

@Rocky M As we age it must be realized that these bodies are meant to be pushed into many areas. Because one is older does not mean that one should slow down--only in doing high intensity activities in a more careful manner to prevent natural causes that break down bodies when these activities are not developed. With the added caution that in performing things one must be safe as we do not want injuries that will cause an earlier demise by not doing them. One must keep on going if nothing else in trying to keep fit.

Aside from this great supplement, people just need to consume way less carbs/sugar. It doesn't matter as much as what you eat to do this as it matter that you cut the sugar. I Know, I know, this is a whole other conversation. At 64, I take 180mcg K2-MK7 with 20,000-IU D3 and 200 MG Magnesium chelate and it has drastically helped me carotid artery plaque and also could have been my other supplements and cutting out the carbs. My lipids profile is the best it has ever been. Tri's went from 198 to 78 in 9 months, total cholesterol went from 160 to 98. My 60% carotid artery plaque went from 60% blocked to almost nothing. Even my doc was about speechless. You have to do all these things to make them work together for the best results.

If you take K2 and D3, feel better and it is more than a placebo, you need to look at your diet. What other nutrients could you be missing. The thing is, no supplement regime can be total, a healthy diet with a wide range of whole plant based foods plus a source of vitamin B12 gives you everything you need. If you were missing K2 and B3 you will be missing other things too.
A diet high in butter, eggs and meat gives nearly all the nutrients you need, but unfortunately shortens your life and lowers the quality of later life due to degenerative disease.

I felt it made me feel more focused and energetic. Could be unrelated however I know differently after being diagnosed I have incredible energy and turned 60 in July. My cardio ability is shocking to me.
Suppliments work. Lastly I have not had a day with a cold or flu in 3 + yrs. All I know is I don't need doctors and I feel great......

Every single time I went in for something else, she tried to get me on some drug, starting with the statins..I had a bad reaction, stopped, then point blank refused them. Then it was the co-id shot, I think their percentage of "compliant" patients went up when I was dropped. Yes, she called me non-compliant.

Been taking K2 Mk7 daily for about 15 years, now. Stumbled across it when I was worried about my arteries (my diet and drinking were both awful). My fitness level actually improved Teeth have also been better since.

    • @scottw2317
      @scottw2317 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Skip any pure mk7 products. While for very specific conditions mk7 has performed better than mk4 in RCTs (such as liver repair trials) it also has a rather large downside in that RCTs conducted looking into post menopausal women and bone density that MK7 reduces bone density at a faster rate than the control group while MK4 builds calcium on the bone slowly or much much quicker if people were supplemented with D3 at the same time. A combo pill similar to what was mentioned with predominantly mk4 but having small amounts of the other mks seems to be a good option over a mk7 product.
Also in many of these studies that did show mk7's benefit there are often comments that a part of the cohort showed 0 benefit from mk7 intake in that they could not either absorb or process the compound and while mk4 showed much less benefit it was consistent across the cohorts.

    • @JulioMacarena
      @JulioMacarena 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@scottw2317 I always make sure I get plenty of Vitamin D these days. I wouldn't agree that Mk7 does nothing or worse: I could easily feel it in my teeth biofilm when I was a drinker (and my teeth became much less sensitive ever since i started it), and I noticed my fitness improve. I have been also taking Mk4 on and off as part of Now Foods Bone Strength - and this is I can definitely feel, also, yes even something stronger when I'm taking both - but Mk4 only lasts for several hours, and you need to take it a few times a day as it leaves your body faster.

I have to go every 5 yrs due to family history of polyps. I haven't had polyps ever, but because my dic coded it as diagnostic due to family history & wouldn't change the code, I have to pay for it. It's total BS & they wonder why people don't get preventive tests. Family history punishes you even if you have no symptoms or polyps cuz they recommend you go every 5 yrs instead of 10 which is considered the preventive timeline. I told them I'll see you in 10 yrs regardless. By that time I'll be 73 & won't be needing colonoscopy screening much longer after that. What a racket.

  • @larsnystrom6698
    @larsnystrom6698 ปีที่แล้ว +142

    Yes, K2 is fine!
I usually recommend the three supplement which most people are deficient in:
    Magnesium, up to 300 - 400 mg
Vitamin D3, 5000 IU (125 ug / mcg, if you are American.)
Vitamin K2, at least 200 ug of MK-7
Currently I use Magnesiumtaurat, because Taurine is also good for me, or for you. But any kind except for oxide works. Some, such as Citrate, are laxative. So a mixture of several kinds might be better for you. But if you need a laxative, you know what to use.
Of course, if you get enough sun when it's at least 45° above the horizont, you get enough of vitamin D3 from that.
Oh, and you need it almost daily. Less frequently doesn't work as well. And large doses seldom, like monthly, is just inane!
And don't take calcium supplements when you take D3. Get it from food. Vitamin D3 increases the bodys uptake of calcium, so you shouldn't need any supplement of it.
There's always some idiot which warns about high doses of vitamin D3, because if you get to much you can get to much calcium in the blood. That doesn't happen below 30'000 IU, though. And you won't go over 10'000 IU, unless you are trying to use it for medical purposes.
By the way, if you are iut in the sun all day, the body stops producing vitamin D3 at corresponding to 20'000 IU.
That should tell you that you don't need more!
I myself also take 3 mg of vitamin K2 Mk-4. But research hasn't really been able to decide if you need MK-7, MK-4, or both.
MK-7 is very popular in supplements and in research, because supplement suppliers support that. But MK-4 is the kind the body converts some MK-7 into (and some vitamin K1 too).
So, my conclusion is that the body really like MK-4. But the research on this is incomplete. Especially about the bioavailability!
Anyway, MK-7 works well enough, I think.
Anything else, you can get from a good diet.

I've read magnesium is needed for the liver to convert D3 then D3 feeds every cell in the body , carrys calcium then K2 mk7 forces the calcium into bone and teeth.
Oh to add D3 takes calcium from skin (wrinkles) and joints (sore joints) and force into bones and teeth.

Supplements (WORK) and this needs to be included in the health care industry conversation.
Thanks again for your efforts to educate the masses.
    Cheers Doug 😎

Thank you. It is as bad now as it was the past 100 years. The government hiding important nutritional information from the public. And the cover ups of all the bad products like the crisco vegetable oils and the margarine and the trans fats. My father was born in 1926. He served in ww2. And made me a beautiful captain bed in his basement workshop. Yet he died at only 65 years old. From heart failure. I'm very upset and angry at crooked government and crooked businessman in our country. It is also a shame with our medicaid system. I'm very grateful to live here, even so. I just notice that these bad things still exist in our foods, they are just being cleverly disguised now! A poor person doesn't stand much of a chance. I know, because I've been in the medicaid system for 40 years now. And I just turned 65. Every life counts. Not just those who are well off financially. Thank you. 😊.

My understanding of the K2 research is that K2 MK7 is responsible for preventing calcium buildup in the arteries and directing calcium to the bone were it belongs, thus hopefully preventing heart issues. Recommended dose is 120mcg minimum taken with meals. Best supplements combine K2 MK7 with 1000 UI of D3. K2 MK4 helps with bone mineralization and not specific to cleaning the arteries. I am not in favor of your multi K2 MK7,4,8 lumped approach. When raking a specific vitamin, I urge people to look at the research first and to try to correct dietary deficiencies so the problem doesn't get worse. Taking a good multivitamin and then adding specific vitamins like K2 MK7 to target specific issues works.

Is it possibly because developed Western countries lacking foresight allowed their manufacturing to be offshored to one less-developed country. Now that one country has the market cornered and can jack up the prices and the short-sighted foreign buyers have no alternative (in the near term).

We should all be learning this in high school, not before it's too late! And if all food was regulated and made organic without pesticides, and no farmers were allowed to feed their animals crap, I'm sure we would all be living a better life.

The content depends on the animal's diet.
Chickens that live in cages do not have vitamin K2.
Chickens living outdoors have K2, it is greater in the summer when "the grass is kissed by the sun" the same goes for other animals from which cheese, butter or their meat is obtained, if they are fed with grass or hay there will be K2.
Cheeses that are produced with bacterial fermentation always have K2 which can then increase if the animal is fed on grass.
The values you indicated seem very high to me, but if you have your chickens living outdoors and you eat a lot of eggs you should still have a good amount of K2

Mommy, an RN put us on mega vits in 1972. I continued to enhance/modify my usage, by the way I take seven thousnd IU's of D3 a day with K2 for the past ten years, I'm on a statin so it takes out the D3 along with the other lipids, and blood tests still show not much above the norm. They give you one 50,000IU's of D3 once a month if your stationed at the South pole.

QUESTION: Can you recommend a K2 supplement that does not contain vitamin D? I have a supply of vitamin D that will last me a couple of years from a very good source.
Thank you for any information you can provide and THANK YOU for all your time to create these informative videos.

any k2-mk7 derived from natto is safe. Dosage depends on how much D3 you take, from 100mcg up.

Health care savings means less profits for pharmaceutical companies. Now you know why the “Food Guide” promotes unhealthy eating habits and why hospital food is basically processed sugar products.
On the most part, drugs do nothing to cure. They hide symptoms, but the underlying process continues to get worse, which is why, in time, the symptoms return and higher dose drugs or more potent drugs are “prescribed “.
Some drugs are needed, like insulin for type 1 diabetics, but mostly the rest are not. Yes, in serious life or death situations, a drug can be useful, but fasting should be incorporated and made into a lifestyle for long term benefits (at least one to two long term fasts per year, like a week long, and intermittent fasting on a regular basis).
Sugar is poison and it’s what they are pushing us to eat.

You kept mentioning the cost of health care, even at least once, 'health care around the world'. I live in a country that affords universal health care, meaning that we only have to pay a small co-payment. Nevertheless, the cost of poor health is, well, poor health. I eat pretty much eggs and meat, plus supplements, especially D3, because of being so far north (65°). Thanks for a great video, much appreciated.
