I told my urologist that I had started taking a lycopene supplement. He just scoffed. He said Finasteride is the ONLY thing that works on prostate enlargement. So, I kept the lycopene, added pumpkin seeds and other natural supplements. I now sleep all night, do not have to run to the bathroom, and am able to empty my bladder completely. Some Dr.'s just don't want to hear it. They just want to prescribe more meds.

Very nice presentation - I am 72. Lycopene and some other supplements are certainly beneficial. My personal program to effectively manage BPH is to combine diet (low carb, no sugar), exercise, less sitting(!), stress reduction, breathing, good sleep, positive thought, and supplements. In other words treat your whole body. Our prostates are part of a whole system - the prostate is not isolated and disconnected from all our other organs. You do not wake up one morning with an enlarged prostate - the imbalances begin in your 40's. There is no magic pill or supplement. Yes, Lycopene is important, I take it. If you want to fix your prostate, work on your whole body. To work on your whole body, work on all the individual organs.

Dittos, I just experienced that at my Doctor this Wednesday 2/7/24. went for excess gas and heartburn , after I just came from Emergency room the day before though I was having heart problems, and was given this prescription for gas, pantoprazole and sent home.
On researching the possible side effects, I was not willing to risk all the possible side effects . Found out after, that Licorice root was a natural remedy for this.
My doctor after telling him of this about licorice root and that I did not like the possible side effects of that drug, he said there are no side effects with it and that it was good for my problem. Everyone knows all drugs have possible side effects
He then , after telling I felt fine now after taking the Licorice root , wrote me a prescription for high blood pressure based on just one blood pressure reading after I had just rushed to his office and sat down being there only two minutes. I have read that blood pressure readings should never be taken that quickly. and that makes perfect sense
I would imagine others have had similar things happen in the doctors office visits.
I know doctors try to help .but often more than not they do not listen to their patient, at least mine does not it seems and is very quick with the pad to cover up a symptom and never address the why or cause of the problem for a possible cure and or remedy instead of a cover of the symptoms with a myriad of possible side effects.

Hi, I loved your presentation, I'm 75 yrs old and don't have any prostate issues. Here's why, I grow tomatoes every year in my greenhouse and eat tomatoes regularly and cook with them. However, my big secret is I take cannabis oil every night, just a drop, and it has THC and CBD in this strain. I sleep 7 to 8 hours every night and never get up to pee, I pee before bed and again in the morning, and I pee like a stallion. I recently had my PSA tested it was 1.4, not bad for 75 when 75 year olds are generally 5.0 PSA. hope this helps someone and of course cannabis kills cancer! More research should be done for this to help men.

      @michaelfforte ปีที่แล้ว +3

Agree - insulin is a major factor - insulin is a growth hormone and a factor in prostate enlargement. Other hormones come into play as well. (Estrogen and the conversion of testosterone to DHT by the 5-a-Redactase enzyme.)

@@michaelfforte What's the best remedy to treat BPH ?

    • @michaelfforte
      @michaelfforte ปีที่แล้ว

@@g-love6507 There is no 1 'best' remedy - I wish there were - I work with many. Each of us is different and has different needs.
I'm 72 - I'll share what works for me in 4 domains - DIET, EXERCISE, HYDRATION and SUPPLEMENTS
DIET - Listen to enough diet videos and your head will explode. My takeaway after years of experimenting. Go as low carb as you can, eat good quality protein (I eat red meat, poultry, lamb and fish). Eat only pure food - cut out all processed foods, seed oils and sugar. Wanna know what is most important? #1 DO NOT snack between meals and DO NOT eat after 7 PM and make you next meal at noon the next day - that gives you a 14-16 hour fast). #2 Take a walk or go up and down some stairs AFTER you eat a meal. Engage the large leg muscles and they will suck up the insulin. DO NOT exercise hard, just a walk is fine. 10-15 minutes.
EXERCISE - Very few talk about this - regular exercise gave me the GREATEST improvement in my prostate symptoms - combined with the above diet guidance. You DO NOT have to go crazy with exercise - at 72 I walk, do some yoga, body weight exercise (squats, incline pushups, and lots of Qi Gong, all of which concentrate on leg strength and hip flexibility. DO NOT sit for more than 20 minutes without getting up and walking around the room. Sitting is a prostate killer. When you sit you fold your self in half, cutting off all the energy and blood-flow to the pelvis, PLUS you apply a lot of pressure right on the prostate. Included in my regime are daily organ massage (heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, spleen, bladder and intestines) , and tapping acupressure points.
HYDRATION - Yes, you can drink too much water - be careful - but stay well hydrated. Spring water, green tea (I can only drink decaf) chamomile, and hibiscus tea are excellent. I also drink 1-2 cups of Prostate Health Tea by BRAVO TEA. AVOID dairy and alcohol.
SUPPLEMENTS - My first thoughts were that there was some magic herb or supplement that would fix me. I would be willing to wager I have tried more supplements than 99% of you. YES, some help, some don't. It's very individual as each person is unique. My research and experimentation is on-going but here is my current stack - and let me remind you once more - without DIET and EXERCISE you are wasting your time and money. Some supplements will give you minor relief but you need to think long-term healthy prostate lifestyle.
Here is my current stack: (some I take every day, some once or twice a week)
      BLADDER/PROSTATE SPECIFIC
      Gokshuradi Guggulu (Banyan Herbs)
      ChandraPrabha Vati (Harmony Nutraceuticals)
      Organic Genitrac (Maharishi Ayurveda)
      Organic Prostate Protect (Maharishi Ayurveda)
      Kanchanar Guggulu (Banyan Herbs)
Ultra Prostate (Life Extension) Contains Saw Palmetto, Lycopene, Nettle root, Boron, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Plant sterols, etc)
Used as needed Bangshil and Fortege, (Alarsin Pharm), Shilajit, and Varuna
      MINERALS
      Zinc + Copper (Jarrow Formulas)
      Potassium/Magnesium (Life Extension)
MISCELLANEOUS HERBS THAT HELP WHOLE BODY
      Organic Moringa
      NAC
      Tumeric
      D3
      Serrapeptase
      Berberine
      DIM
Black Cumin Seed Oil (Life Extension)
      Benfotiamine (Life Extension)
Final thought - if you want to fix your prostate work on your WHOLE body. To work on your whole body fix all the individual organs. Your prostate is NOT an isolated organ/gland that suddenly has a 'problem'. All your organs are intimately interconnected and need to work together. The only way to do that is with DIET, EXERCISE, HYDRATION and SUPPLEMENTS that work for you! Good luck gents.

Just in case you didn''t have a pen handy for achieving our daily 14 mg daily amount of lycopene from food (with variances):
1 can (170 grams) of tomato paste = 49 mg
1 cup of tomato sauce = 34.1 mg
100 grams of tomato paste = 28.8 mg
1 cup of tomato juice = 23.4 mg
    1 medium tomato = 6 mg
    1 tbsp tomato paste = 5 mg
The juice sounds pretty easy, but I have found , quite often, that tomato juices contain huge amounts of salt...but that is just my personal unimportant opinion. Oh yes, so..I am a Canadian so we use both metric and imperial measures, but, for our U.S. friends, there are conversion tables readily available on the net. Wishing you all good health.

My PSA was 5.3, urinalysis was a little elevated at 27 then an MRI showed two lesions.
My biopsy was scheduled for December of 2023.
I began doing whatever I could to help myself while I waited.
I began a health protocol in mid October combining information from your video, Dr. Andrew Huberman, Dr. Eric Burg and Gary Brecka.
I added the supplement Lycopene to my diet, carnivore diet to reduce inflammation and keep insulin low. 5 minute Cold plunging every morning, 12 minutes of red light therapy every morning, my normal gym push/pull routine, walking 3 miles everyday, I threw out all my old vitamins and bought methylated vitamins. EMF mat and Grounding sheets for our bed. I also began several 3 day water fasts.
One 3 day water fast a month.
The biopsy in December came back negative in all of the 9 samples and my latest blood test results last week showed that my PSA dropped to 4.1.
My urologist gave very little insight into my results and why the drop in PSA. My results were positive enough that my doctor agreed to wait another 4 months for another blood test before trying to put me on Flomax.
Something or a combination of all of these things could be responsible.
All I know is I feel amazing, I’ve loss 42 lbs and I’m currently the weight I was in high school over 35 years ago. I’m 56 years old and went from 247 lbs to 205 lbs in 5 months. 😊
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! 😊

Another supplement that can be combine with Lycopene is saw palmetto as it is another 5-alpha reductase blocker. Don't forget pumpkin seeds and zinc supplement. Finally a low carb diet to keep glucose and insuline levels down.

      Broccoli sprout extract?

    • @chuckleezodiac24
      @chuckleezodiac24 ปีที่แล้ว

@@gabeguzman9478 taken in pill form -- recommended by Rhonda Patrick for prostate problems. i think that going from 187 to 167 pounds (5'9) and cutting out dairy and junk food is what really helped.
my doctor recommended a biopsy (of course) but i asked for a 4K blood test which determines risk of prostate cancer (scale of 0-100). my score went from an 8 to 6.6, so doc says it's ok to just check the 4K every year.
