  • In this review, we take a detailed look at the Next Level Racing GT Elite cockpit and ERS1 reclining sim racing seat. As a GT-only version of its more versatile sibling, the F-GT Elite, many sim racers will find the price point more appealing. How does The GT Elite compare to other mid-range rigs, such as the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo and Track Racer TR120? Find out in this review.

      Indeed....so good in fact, NLR should consider adding it to their product page. 😉

    Waiting on mine to arrive, your review helped me pull the trigger so thank you.
    Just regarding price, I live in Australia which is where NLR is located. For us the pricing is on par with competitors like Trak Racer (also based in Aus) and considerably cheaper than international competitors. It costs a lot obviously to ship something like this internationally. Only just pointing this out as a lot of people bring up the cost without realising that it depends heavily on the region.
    Again, thanks for the excellent review.

    Hey man, great video!
    I'm thinking about buying this same Cockpit and using it with a 3-screen 27' setup. Just a question, is it possible to mount the seat and the wheel much higher in order to avoid the vertical posts of the wheel plate getting in the view field?

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your question M. That's something that I was initially concerned with also. However, when racing I didn't really notice the uprights and they actually helped with the immersion factor by resembling parts of a roll cage. If it is an issue for you though, you can easily raise the seat, wheel and pedal deck up to mitigate for this. You may need the Elite formula upgrade kit ( amzn.to/3VNO18y ), depending on how high you want to raise the seat and pedal deck. Alternatively, you could use some extra pieces of aluminium profile. Hope that helps. 👍

    Just a quick question: You mentioned that the width of the rig was 65cm. NLR's spec sheet says 70cm or 84cm (presumably with the shifter mounted?).
    I need to slide the rig through a doorway (80cm?) wide to store in a back room. Can you confirm your measurements WITH the side shifter?
    Your explanation of the side brackets ability to both raise the seat hight AND adjust the recline is something I've not seen in other reviews.
    Well done, lad; great review!

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your question supercededman. To clarify, the GT Elite has a base footprint width of 65cm. However, it measures 85cm wide when you include the shifter arm and mount. Would it be possible to set up a more permanent sim racing area in your back room?
      Cheers for your kind words by the way-I'm stoked you liked the review.

      @@ADAPTNetworkso glad you replied. I've subbed, by the way.
      No, I can't set it up in the back room permanently, but I am fairly confident I can figure a work around for this.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question Tycho. I'm about 5ft 9.5 inches (176.5cm) and average build. However, Next Level Racing states that the GT Elite can support drivers ranging from 4ft - 6ft 9 inches and the ERS1 seat has an open design. So, I think you'd be fine. Hope that helps. 👍

      @ADAPTNetwork  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your question Legend. Including the feet and seat slider, the underside of the seat is raised about 20cm from the floor. You can, however, extend this using the included seat bracket set. Hope that helps. 👍

      Not including the PC or monitor, the total cost of this setup is £2,571 (UK) / $2,947 (US). See the cost breakdown below. 👇
      GT Elite cockpit: £649 (UK) / $699 (US) - amzn.to/3C5PRLR
      ERS1 reclining sim racing seat: £349 (UK) / $399 (US) - amzn.to/3QF5WMF
      Elite direct monitor mount: £229 (UK) / $249 (US) - amzn.to/3zVZp9o
      Fanatec CSL DD wheel base (8Nm): £420 (UK) / $500 (US) - adaptnet.work/CSLDD
      Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel R300: £420 (UK) / $500 (US) - adaptnet.work/R300
      Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V3: £340 (UK) / $400 (US) - adaptnet.work/CSPedalsV3
      Thrustmaster TH8A shifter: £164 (UK) / $200 (US) - amzn.to/3SRQr5Y
      This is probably considered a decent mid-range setup. However you can get started with a cheaper cockpit like the GT Lite ( th-cam.com/video/6IPM555JWiE/w-d-xo.html ), or a wheel stand ( th-cam.com/video/RZEVk902xBc/w-d-xo.html ). You can also pick up a second-hand starter wheel and pedal set for under £200/$200. Hope that helps. 👍

    Which seat did you like better between the two?

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question Allen. Personally, I would opt for the ES1 sim racing seat ( amzn.to/3IPRayn ). The wide design makes it very comfortable for a bucket seat and it's more rigid than the ERS1 ( amzn.to/3QF5WMF ). Plus, it's ideal for use with a motion platform due to the single-shell design and included harness. However, The ERS1 is still a very good seat and even more comfortable than the ES1. So there are pros and cons to both. Hope that helps. 👍

    It is literally 80% off the shelf alu-profiles ....not worth the money at all

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for your comment mate. The GT Elite is certainly not the cheapest aluminium profile cockpit. However, it's worth noting that shipping is included at that price. Plus, you get a lot of included extras; parts like the seat sliders, buttkicker mount and cable clips are things that other brands only supply separately.
