I was thinking whilst editing the video that the front leg section may fold back further for a slimmer folded profile but I'm not sure my wheel base allowed it?... Something for you new owners to play around with! 😃
Friend of mine has this cockpit and while its an excellent fold away its still very much a chunk when folded, if your buying this thinking it will go in a standard cupboard then think again as you'll be scraping paint of the door frame not to mention worrying about damaging the actual unit and your sim gear. It is lightweight enough that it makes it easy to move around the room and free up space that way but that's the only plus vs paying another 80 pound and getting something like the ART cockpit. If your needing this to be totally hidden away when the wife is at home cleaning then maybe think about the Playseat challenge as that will happily go in places this wont, bar that review was spot on and as mentioned in the review, worth the money over the playseat especially the extra stability.
After sim racing with a t300 on desk for a year, I got the gt lite pro a month or two ago. It's night and day, very good rig. I've even used it to watch movies once because it's so comfortable haha
Its truely the best, its better then playseats $300 rig. Im sry but it is. The playseat has way more flex on the pedal tray and the seat also the base. Way way more tbh.
I like mine so much that even though the seat fabric tore within the 1st week, I kept it because I couldn't stand the thought of having to pack up this seat, sending it back, and waiting (forever) for a replacement. I'm a casual racer on a PS5 + PSVR2 with a T300RS and am living my best life in this rig. I can definitely see buying a better sim rig in the future, but for now, the GTLite Pro is kinda awesome.
Karl this unit will actually fold up in the same way as the gt lite did in your original take 2 video it then has a much slimmer profile, I did this whilst a t300 and tlcm pedals were mounted.
Nothing will ever beat the simplicity of the PlaySeat challenge for me, I've upgraded since mine but never got rid so I'll still dig it out occasionally for friends when they're round and i always regret upgrading when i remember how bloody comfy it was, the seat I've got at the minute desperately needs replacing it's like sitting on two planks of wood 😂
The GT lite is a lot better than the play seat challenge. Folded out and in use the GT lite is clearly the better cockpit. I don't think that's disputed by anyone. The only reason the Challenge gets any sort of a win over the GT lite is smaller footprint when folded away and the ease of folding it. But you don't have to fold the GT lite into the compressed can image on the box. The way i fold me GT lite takes up about 20 inches more lateral space vs the Challenge. It's not a noticeable difference and the benefits of the GT lite far outweigh the extra 20 inches max!
I own it for couple of weeks. Wouldn't recommend it for a heavy setup. It's impossible to fold if the gear is heavy, it just falls apart on you. Handbrake is usable, but I am using like the first 10% of my handbrake, any more and I feel like I will rip it off. 😂 The folding mechanism is really cluncky and hard to use, even if you risk your back folding it. Better than a table, for sure. For small spaces I would go for Playseat Challenge instead. For something like a moza R5, probably Challenge as well. I have the Simagic Alpha Mini, it can handle it, it wobbles, but it doesn't bother you while racing. Honestly, buying it again. I would leave the shifter out and get the playseat trohpy, more movable than this thing. More compact and sturdy, far more sturdy.
Here's the real thing about fold away cockpits... The only reason we buy them is to keep the Mrs happy! lol. Am i wrong? Who's single and needs a fold away? It's a marketing tool to the Mrs. "Yeah, i know it's big, and it's gets in the way, but look, when i'm not using it it can fold away". (lol).
Single here, but moving to a smaller apaprtment while first time getting into the hobby. Hoping I won't suck. Don't really want a full rig with dedicated screens from the start. The lightweight seat makes sense, slide it to a yet to be bought big TV, or a lovely ultrawide monitor. Seeing the limited premium for a sit/stand desk, that seems to make sense, they can lower than typical desks if needed. Then all I need is the monitor to come down low enough. The seat...I could hang it from the wall high as possible. Or just pull it well away from desk or TV when not in use. Do I plan to tidy up the small apt enough to have a dedicated rig eventually and light up the world rankings? Of course I do.
I thought this was my new folding rig, until i saw you actually folding it. Pretty sure i'm going the Playseat-route now, probably the Logitech X version, as i need it to fold flat and easy. Thanks for the review!
@@galichet18 I have the regular Challenge since a month and a half now and it’s awesome. Folds in seconds, sturdy as hell, really comfortable. Chose the regular one over the X because the pedals to my CSL DD were supposedly way harder to fit on the X. They fit fine on the normal Challenge, although you will need a few good zip ties.
I was thinking about this, but then I realized I can store a playseat trophy vertically so went with that. I wonder what you are thinking about this foldable stuff, so gonna watch this review anyway. I appreciate your reviews and your always honest opinion about stuff. :)

Great review. But I think you’ve demonstrated how awkward and cumbersome this thing would be on a day to day basis, if you have to fold it away. Not to mention when you set it up again, you have to reset your pedal tray and steering angle.
I've the previous version of the GT Lite w/T300rs and ended up never folding it up. It sits in the corner of my office with just the pedal deck folded up. Considering the Playseat Trophy now because plan to go DD.
Agreed, comfy af too, I've never been able to sit in a proper car seat for as long as i could in the PlaySeat also with a fully fledged rig it feels weird playing something else with a giant wheel stuck permanently in front whereas the swing arm on the PlaySeat turned it into a gaming chair too.
@@gamercubed went on your channel and it looks like I already saw your video recently hahaha I'm thinking of buying a Fanatec with this shifter so your video helped!
Agreed, literally takes 10 seconds to fold up and put away, ive had a fgt lite from a bundle i picked up takes 5 minutes or so to fold up, not good for a quick session 😂
I’m on the market for a seat. You think I should go for playseat challenge over this GT Lite Pro? I do have a Logitech when and Logitech shifter, so I would need a mount thing for that. Any cheap good suggestions for that?
I would recommend to consider the coffeeracer instead. It's a far more elegant solution, way stronger and also a smaller more beautifull and practical solution for a foldable rig. Offcourse it is more expensive but from what I have seen totally worth it. And you can also use high end pedals and a really strong dd wheel with hardly any flex. If you can afford it it's a no brainer.
Have a playseat challenge with some mods from lowdown shifter . The main thing is the ease of folding and staying upright to put behind a door. It’s so easy to do. Even with a fanatec setup. I just wish the seat was better padded. But this next level one doesn’t look well made, reminds me of those cheap Chinese accessory bags you get that are made of the thinnest material known to man. I give it 6months before stitching is coming out. Just my guess. Playseat challenge x would be nice to see. Cheers Karl!
Enjoyed the review. Seat looks nice but having bought and returned an F-GT Lite because it was massive and a total pain to fold, in favor of a Playseat Challenge which I love, this just does not seem like something I could ever be bothered to fold. At which point might as well buy something more rigid. Honestly I don't fold my Playseat that often and it takes like 10s. In part because it's got a small footprint, unlike these NLR foldables. And personally I find it quite comfy.
Nahh, just grab a Playseat Challenge (the not Alcatara model) and fold it and ready you are. Also, for the Playseat Challenge you can have great mods for using a DD base, like I do with the Fanatec DD Pro 8nm
I want to buy this but i have one question, can you change the side the wheelbase swings open from? Or the side the clamp is on? if that makes more sense. Thanks.
I understand there are some limitations to foldaways, but I don't think there should be this much flex on a wheelbase deck that is said to take 13nm. Theres definitley a market for a playseat challenge style chair which has been redesigned and reinforced to take all the new entry level DD's out there.
For the price of the pro you can buy a playseat challenge and buy the mods to make it structurally better and it would be still cheaper and take up less space to be stored away, but great review
Hi Karl. Whats the width of the pedal section on the GT Lite Pro? Looking into getting this or the Playseat Challenge Actifit or the new X version. The size of the pedal mount bit is a key factor in my choice though! Cheers. 😀
Can you PLEASE tell me how high up you can sit with proper adjustments in this? (GT Style). I bought V3 pedals but I can't keep em on the carpet like my old logitech ones so I need an alternative option, but I need a seat that will have 13" or so of clearance off of the ground (from the bottom of my butt to the ground) to see my monitor properly.
Seems nice but I think they could still improve that wobble by quite a lot using better materials... wish someone made a no compromises best materials cost being not a big factor design that folds away. Seen those rig in a furniture box/table type of thing seems like might be better compact solution.

Hopefully you check comments in your old videos I really need help lol. So I'm 6 foot 7, I only have the budget for a cockpit in this price range. It seems from your video's that this gt lite pro and the playset challenge xLogitech are the best 2 for my budget. My question is for sombody my height what would you recommend between the 2 or anything else for the same kinda budget? I read both support more than my height but I don't really believe that lol what would you think has the most leg room and to be comfortable?
Hi Daryl, The supported height is up to 6 foot 9 inches - there should be a discount code in Karl's description if you're looking to purchase in the USA!
I had one of these and wouldn't recommend it. It is heavy and a hassle to fold. Also when connecting a buttkicker gamer to it, I could hear the vibrations instead of just feeling it due to the way the seat is constructed. Switched to a more solid, compact go kart style cockpit and it is much better.
@@Schmitty4564 I would go with this one because it will grow with him. Or get him a 2080 rig and he will never ever need to replace it. But you can't fold one of those away
Hi karl, pardon me for posting this off topic but im desperate. I already posted the same comment on a more relavent vid of yours but the vid is quite old and i wasnt sure if you got it or not. I'm just in the process of setting up triple 48" lg c2 oleds and I'm having trouble locating DisplayPort to HDMI (cables or dongle) to run all three at 4k 120hz. I have a rtx 4090 so I should be ok in terms of power, its just I've ordered 4 different connectors and non of them work. could you le me know which connectors you settled on. thanks in advance and keep up the good work
I used Startech adapters and CSL Computer cables I think mate, but this is a really tricky thing to get right, even the cables you use make a huge difference, finding the right combination took me ages and a lot of buying and returning stuff... then there's getting Nvidia surround to bloody work properly too, the whole thing is a nightmare!
Hi karl, Ive looked into startech and they dont sell a adaptor that allows 4k @ 120hz. They specify theirs is only 60hz which is a deal breaker. Can you elaborate on how you manage to get 3 4k screens running a 120hz. This is info that the net needs to know even if lg managed to sort it for you in some way. It would be nice to have a concrete answer from them or yourself
Had the previous version of this. It was so incredible awful, more flex than on my desk, even with a T300. Went to a Sim-Lab WS-Pro from there, night and day difference and still easy to store to the side. The wheel deck alone is almost as heavy as this entire thing. Not saying other people can't find a use for this, but despite the improvements I think this is way too expensive for how flimsy it's built.
Foldable cockpits always do, no way around it. A WS is much more solid but you sacrifice a seat of course... pressing the brake pedal hard and you often tip whatever seat your using backwards... always a compromise and you only buy either if you absolutely have to.
@@KarlGosling Yeah the foladables are always flexing but this was just not worth it in my opinion. My wheelstand comes with a seat add-on, also alu profile. Super rigid, running a Forte on it

Hi karl,
Ive looked into startech and they dont sell a adaptor that allows 4k @ 120hz. They specify theirs is only 60hz which is a deal breaker. Can you elaborate on how you manage to get 3 4k screens running a 120hz. This is info that the net needs to know even if lg managed to sort it for you in some way. It would be nice to have a concrete answer from them or yourself
Great review video
Nice Sega Saturn Wheel 😁
Cheers!
Thank you
Had the previous version of this.
Super rigid, running a Forte on it
I call it a give away cockpit 😂
Did they expect you to fold out the steering wheel and then fold up the pedals? I was screaming laughing seeing your hand right next to the buckle. (The red buckle on the steering wheel upright.)
No idea mate, I read out and followed the instructions?! lol
👍
I can tell you chuffed up the folding bit, but otherwise this was a helpful first impressions video.
G2 is not a wireless headset so can't really compare, but the Q3 has much nicer, clearer lenses albeit lesser colours and not as comfortable IMO.
What’s the max weight in kg of a person can it handle, because i’m a fat ass 😘 140kg 😱😱😱
Best to check the website mate.
15:23 lmao feet picks
Simracing ist ein teures Hobby. Wer am falschen Ende spart, kauft am letztlich doch doppelt. Das Ding würde ich einschmelzen und einen Gehwagen draus machen, aber ganz sicher nicht kaufen.
I can't wait to see you put Clubsport DD+ on playseat challenge ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) please tell me if you plan to do so
Would you recommend this over the wheel stand 2.0?
Hallo Karl
First of all, thanks for your Reviews.... amazing Work
Did you ever have driven an next Level GT Racer Rig?
Can' t find anything...
No mate I have not.
Nice cat
Thanks!
Thank you
