holy shit man! such a banger video the camera quality is AWSOME and the editing is top notch hope you will race better in you'r f1 career (and there are existing viewers don't give up King ) and I think I know what my first sim rig will be and the guide how to assemble it. keep grinding! ❤
I love the intro! I have the FGT- Elite 160 Ferrari Scuderia edition. I upgraded from some generic no name amazon one, and wow... I moved my entire computer/system to this cockpit and only sit in my other chair for working at my day job.
Hey dude! I just ordered this rig after watching you're video! Was trying to decide between this and the Simlab evo. But this video sold me on the Elite F-GT. Cheers!
Great review, young man. I agree, there is a place for 'quick and dirty' reviews alongside those more detailed from the likes of Karl and Will (who lives in the same city - Melbourne, Australia - as me). I bought an NLR GT Elite, the baby brother of this rig. I can confirm your observation that the quality of NLR products is superb. I bought an ES1 bucket seat for GT racing, unlike you, who has a preference for Formula. Whilst a little more expensive than other brands, NLR products are worth every extra cent. The customer support is unbelievably good. I cross-threaded some of the ratchet bolts on my old GT Lite (same as you!) pedal plate. They sent me some FREE. And when I observed that my new GT Elite wheel plate did not have a hole pattern (I quickly drilled a new one) to fit my G Pro, the guys at NLR said they would be modifying all future rigs. They really are a pleasure to deal with. I hope you are enjoying your new rig.
Great review, especially for a young channel. One thing I think may be hurt you in the algorithm is the minor swearing (GD) a handful of times. I you care to address it, you can probably just rerecord the VO for those lines without re-posting the video. Best of luck and looking forward to the next one!
Nice review. I am in the exact same spot as you were. VR MOZA R9 LOAD CELL (however they don’t really flex that much In the GT seat position) But I want to get 90% formula position (as this is actually more GT accurate) Great video
From the few hours I spent in the GT position while in Dirt Rally 2, the pedal base looks a bit more solid compared to the formula seating based on the little footage I took.
Really well made Video. I was honestly surprised how small your channel is.Feels like your script writing could be a little more on point/compressed to me, but honestly overall the production quality is already better than a lot of far bigger channels. Whish you the best for the future, hope to see your channel grow! PS: thanks for reviewing that chair I was actually also looking for reviews of it without luck, a few months back
I bought the F-GT Elite Lite Side mount a few months back and absolutely love it. At the time there were hardly any reviews on the internet and no TH-cam video reviews. I have the 15nm Fanatec DD+ mounted to mine with the V3 pedals. The rig is extremely sturdy with no flex. It’s also worth noting that Level Racing customer service is excellent.
Also i loved the way you lit your room for all the shots. And i liked your story telling / editing capability. Definitely subbed to see more of your content. Thanks !
Question... could you in theory make this into a flight / race rig at the same time. Like put the racing pedals in F1 mode and flight rudder pedals below it and mount joysticks off the side somehow. Hmmm ...
Thank you! For the intro sequence I shot with my Red Scarlet Dragon with the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 and the rest of the video on my Panasonic Lumix S1H with the Lumix 24-104mm f4 lens. It's absolutely overkill for these videos but I am a professional cinematographer so I might as well use the tools I already have. Its super cool hearing the simracing community respond positively to the extra mile I go with the shooting haha
Love the quality and angles you put behind your shots man, have you tried switching it to the GT position yet? And if so how easy was it to switch positions?
Thank you! And yes, after a few frustrating attempts that even almost had me disassembling the whole rig one time, I think I managed get it done to about 8 minutes. I'll probably make a quick update video about it as I also figured out how to attach one of my 8020 profiles on it as well.
@@insimoniacgaming Do you think in your personal opinion for someone like me who is 6’3” can still fit both GT and Formula positioning with this rigs adjustability? I’m very close to pulling the trigger on this, also hoping that my Simagic shifter and handbrake can fit on their shifter plate
@@namiata3 I'm 5'10 150lb with a reach of 67 inches for context. I am fairly certain you will be able to find a configuration that works with your body type. It may just take a few hours and a bit of sweat, especially if you plan on regularly changing seating positions. I managed to find a configuration that only requires me to adjust the height/distance of the pedals and the seating angle. It did take me a few frustrating hours going through a number of configurations (main area of difficulty was the pedal height, pedal base distance, and angle) before landing on one that only requires a few adjustments that take 8 minutes tops. There are a near infinite amount of configurations that I am recording a quick video going over my personal process and some of the key areas of adjustments that may inform you further. I also cannot comment on the shifter and handbrake, as you will see in the quick video, I have a really jank set up for that lol I think the benefit of buying the F GT Elite over this cockpit is that the F GT Elite comes with the shifter since the shifter separately is still sold out
Wow, I just happend to have the exact same idea. Great video! Could not find the video of this sim setup anywhere. I am getting the same F GT Elite Lite, and plan to sell the GT Lite. Don't know where I should put it on the market though. Wondering if you also have the same thought.
Selling these rigs might be tricky due to their size and weight. If you live in a major city, I'd recommend putting it up on a local barter site like craigslist or facebook marketplace, simracing seems to be popping all around the world, even in non-motorsports region like California I see a lot of secondhand equipment. You can also hold on to it with the hopes that one of your buddies will be bitten by the bug and interested in starting their simracing journey and sell it them at a friend price for their first hit lol
Nice video, its a shame you didnt have the gt position and shifter would have been nice to see the flex of the shifter. Ps What are the different chassis types ?
Thanks for the review. Would you be able to share what do you use and setup for VR sim racing. I’m considering to get into sim racing and would like to find out more about what kind of setup is best for me (VR is one of the option)
I have a video in the pipeline that may interest you where I compare a budget ultrawide screen compared to (the now budget) quest 2 as they are both around $200 atm. They both have strengths and weaknesses but I always push ppl towards VR if possible as it really is the most immersive experience if you can get it set up properly. With that video, I can go over all my components, from PC to cables to connection.
Yes they are! nextlevelracing.com/products/next-level-racing-lockable-castor-wheels/ I'm sure you can find cheaper 3rd party options if you are willing to take the extra effort of matching measurements and parts.
The VR in the F1 games is not optimized at all compared to playing on a screen. I haven't noticed how unoptimized its become since hopping back into my same rig with a screen after 2 years of only vr and literally every aspect of the game, from menus to loading screens to on-track performance, was waaaay smoother. I will say, its not nearly as bad as ACC which I avoid completely but compared to how amazing Project Cars 2 VR was (which is now almost 7 years old now), a modern AAA title shouldn't have any excuses. You can actually run PC2 without the Link cable without any hiccups and still run the graphics on higher settings. Im really hoping F1 24 improves upon the previous 2 game but knowing the pattern, there will most likely be one half step forward in some areas but a full step backwards in others.
I still don't know the difference between the lite and the regular elite. Are the profiles smaller? The specs show that its lighter, but in pictures they look the same.
I believe just the bottom 4 profiles are thicker. The pedal base and wheel column are the same width. It also comes with the $149 shifter attachment that is currently hard to find separately.
I'll add a heater right behind my seat to further simulate the engine heat and maybe squeeze in a camelback somewhere in there so I can drink hot water during a race
@@insimoniacgaming lol that would be fun. I mention the fan though for cooling, not just immersion. Having a fan blowing on your face in VR will make it much, much cooler and more comfortable and you might not get as much swamp butt in your seat 😉
Very good! Currently trying to find a new home for it amongst a couple of friends just getting into simracing. I'd still recommend this to most starter rigs like the Logitech g900 series. If you plan on upgrading to anything stronger than 8nm or stronger loadcell than an entry-level pedal like the CSLs i own, I do recommend saving up for an 8020 rig. But if you only plan on casually racing every one in a while with the logitech set, Id 100% recommend it for the casual simracers. Those who are handy can strengthen the frame with ratchet straps and even 3D printed brackets.
@@insimoniacgaming glad to hear so, I'm planning on getting a moza r5 and the srp pedals for start. probably won't upgrade for a while as I change house every year as a student and need something easy to move around
I believe so since the Asetek wheel bases mount via the side. Make sure to get the more expensive side mount edition like this video shows instead of the wheel plate edition
Thats the first I've heard of that company and for an all-in-one package, that really is an amazing price!! Why aren't other reviewers picking up on it, I wonder? Unfortunately for me, even an "affordable" motion rig like that is still waaay out of the budget for me, and I'm sure many other sim racers. The closest upgrade I can currently plan for are transducers on the seat and 4 corners of the rig, but I will definitely keep the yaw2 in mind for the future. Thanks for the heads up!
