- If Starting a medical home healthcare agency it is important to know the difference between Medical Home Healthcare agency and a nonmedical home care agency. The differences are major and will shape your approach to the business of home care. A home care agency usually is not a medical model while a home healthcare agency is a medical medical. Can the same company/llc do staffing and get a home care license as well?
Yes you may in the same entity however you will have to check with your local health department to confirm especially if in a regulated state. Some state's have no homecare or staffing license. Some will have homecare but not staffing. What city are you in?

Hi how are you . I have health care services firm license NJ and I had achc accreditation approved .but I got medicaid reject ,my company is non medical home care which is private duty. Not the PDN. My question is can I apply Medicaid?

Hi Karl, its been a while! I hope you are doing well. I have a question in regards to skilled home health. With the climate of remote work, do you see a way to create a remote or telehealth form of home health care? I see a lot of companies flirting with the idea but not much implementing. Personally, as a PTA, most of the work I do in HH is delegation of exercises to the pt. That doesn't really require being in front of the patient. So doing this remotely is very possible. What are your thoughts?
I think we are moving away from remote healthcare services. Aside from physician consults I don't see it taking hold for PTA's. I do see remote case management picking up.

Hey Karl, my wife has been a pediatric skilled visits nurse for a few years in Colorado.
There are some cases that have been extremely difficult to get a pdn to staff due to drug abuse/filthy homes so no one wants to watch the kids there all day.
The idea is to start a facility that would act as a “day care” for these kids where parents would drop off the kid that needs skills for the day.
Any idea if this is a valid concept concerning licensing?
I think it's a great idea but you may run into secondary licensing requirements at a day care center. I have never heard of a plan sponsored day care but if you can demonstrate that by providing a safe place Mon-Fri where the kiddos get 2 meals, care, and out of a toxic environment that there is a reduction in plan expenses I can see the plans going for it.
