That first movement wow! I really like the way they play the opening here. No messing about. no ralls and no long pauses and no real contrast of mood at the second subject either and it was really exciting!
Outstanding interpretation, I feel, of the most popular symphony ever written. The sound quality again, is excellent. My congratulations to the conductor and orchestra.
Powerful, uplifting performance. That brass section is godly. First rate sound and camera work as well.
And a very well behaved audience - no coughing!
I love it 😮
Das ist so atemberaubend mächtig und schön. Und dann kommt mittendrin eine 20sekündige Werbung vom FC-Bayern München. Wie sehr kann man einem sowas nur versauen!!!
Perfect tempo Allegro con Brio in the 1st movement.
Great performance in all symphony. Thanks for posting 👍👍
Bravo! Great Wonderful. Maestro Michael Gielen is a great conductor.
A great performance of the greatest symphony ever composed by anyone. Bravo to Micheal Geilen and the SWR Synphony Orchestra!
Another creative interpretation! Thank you for posting!
The 3rd & 4th movements are my favorite in this monumental symphony!!
Sehr gut, danke.
20:20 camera pans on the solo Timpani, THANK YOU cameraman.
Thank the director, actually. It was his choice, and he knew the piece well enough to call for it in the booth.
Wonderful. Thank you.
30:00 to the finale is the signature sound of music!!!
Fate is knocking at door

Why would the conductor need a score? If he can't see it in his mind's eye, then, he needs more study.
Why would you need an agenda? Because you wouldn't like to miss an appointment! And a conductor has a lot of "appointments" with instruments of the orchestra during a symphony...
Lyle Waller : Perhaps you’d like to give him a few lessons based on your vast experience and fame?
@@quaver1239 - Actually, I have experience as a conductor/music director, as well as having been both an arranger, a singer, and a jazz and symphony trombonist. One time I drove 20 miles to play in an orchestra concert only to discover that I had left my music at home, so, except for one piece that I really needed being found in the conductor's music stash, I played the half-a-dozen other pieces from memory. Aural and photographic memory came into play, but I don't recommend it. Lql!
