i really, REALLY hope Climb gets the mercy of being mentally corrupted into not caring anymore once he becomes a Demon for his beloved Renner. otherwise he has an eternity of being a demon-puppet for a psychotic Yandere, knowing everything he does for her is evil and wrong, unable to stop her or himself, forever in mental anguish and turmoil... knowing the way this series is like though, i doubt it. poor dude might end up literally needing a Hero to kill him to free him from Renner and Ainz's influence, plus sending Renner into a psychotic yandere rage over the loss of her pet as a demon would be fun to watch too ngl.
Remember: her main goal was to get freedom from her fate as someone the kingdom intends to marry off for political influence with another nation. She utterly resents that her lot in life is to be used as a political tool despite her great intellect and ability. She even mentions this in the anime, through the light novel goes into more detail, early in Season 4. Her evil is less that she doesn't feel remorse for her actions and more that she feels hatred for an entire nation and all of its people, even when the vast majority of them have nothing to do with the situation she was born into. Make no mistake: she is still quite selfish. She did what was necessary to transform into a demon because she wished for eternal life and eternal beauty, and she manipulated Climb because she desires his companionship. To be sure, though, Climb was a secondary prize to her, as she knows she could have just run away with him, as he will follow her anywhere. But her primary goal was to destroy the kingdom that refused to give her the respect she deserved and sought to use her very body as a tool through arranged marraige to expand its political influence. In the light novel, Ainz expresses his concerns about Renner because of how intelligent she is combined with her CLEARLY unstable personality.
I don't think she's unstable though that's just the thing. Everything Renner does is incredibly ruthlessly well calculated. She knows what she wants and how to get it. She never really strikes me as unstable, just ice cold and without remorse or pity. Out of all the idiots in Re-estize she was the only one who actually *Deserved* to rule the kingdom.

What is messed up is Climb's facial expressions going from shock to come to term with it. He probably knows. Sure she is a creepy yandere but he also seems to be willing to close eyes when it comes to Reener. He seems to be one of the good guy untill Reener's coming into play.
One of my favorite anime princess. Not the evil of it but that plays a part of it. It's how through context clues sprinkled through the story and what is shown that makes her decent into being evil believable. A genius born in a village of idiots who refused her. Went crazy due to her standing and got attached to the first bit of attention in her life. Wanted to put that attention on a collar and have it with her at all times. No matter what it takes. Not the most mind breaking of characters in anime or even isekai but a most well welcomed breath of fresh air in the isekai genre.

Alot of people compare Renner and Climb to Junko and Mukuro. The massive difference was Renner wanted freedom and to have Climb to be with her forever. The other is that she was schemeing behind the scenes with Albedo. She didn't show her true personality to Climb and at the end she got what she wanted. Junko did thing out of despair and wanted to people who she loved to feel how she felt by putting them in tough situations. She was more honest about her feelings with Mukuro. She herself said that she doesn't understand human emotions. The silver ling was she didn't like Mikan who was fixing to sexual assualt to Mituria and the other is the people in hope's peak academy using the student's talent for thier own benefit.
Renner best girl! ...probably because she forced the families of all her competition to eat each other as the other contenders watched on - but a win's a win...
I'm looking forward to seeing it Climb has a drastic change in world view as things go on. I mean, he blindly believed in Renner and the Kingdom but both had serious issues. Renner was not the paragon of humanity that he felt she was and the Kingdom really wouldn't have been at peace if Ainz hadn't started a war with them. I hope that, as a character, he starts to realize the truth and grows from it. Though, maybe that's covered in the light novels, which I have not read: though I should.
Author love evil play, which is why he set the mc in the villlain role, and out of this work, his most favorite character are princess renner, now u just stitch the dot together.

How is she going to turn Climb into a demon if you need such large sacrifice to open the 2nd fallen seed? HOwevre the dance she does at the end I like her more as a demon then as a human princess lol. I wonder if that was Ains or just his servant.
Another point to note about Rainere, she had Kline take the family's ancestral relics the king had gathered in his chambers and hide them for later. So she clearly has ambitions that go beyond just becoming a servant of Nazarick.
She was probably putting them to the side so Nazarick and loot them later. Nazarick's abiltiies and spare parts are worth more than any treasure the kingdom has. IE immortality that works.

Remember, these are magical items, they have power. Just leaving them be would mean they would fall into Ainz's hands, in fact the twins were tasked specifically to find those items. If Rainere wanted Ainz to have them she would have left them alone, but instead, she secretly had them hidden away so they could not be found. The only reason to do that is she intended to come back later and recover them for herself. She is playing a long game, one that is much longer than just the events happening currently. She is just using Nazarick, as she was just using everyone else. She won't be a level 1 imp forever. Eventually she will be a level 100 demon. The imp form is just the first step in her rebirth as an immortal godlike being. Unlike everyone else at Nazarick, she does not have a preprogrammed agenda, she is her own woman.

The only reason they are not used more widely is that the locals don't know how to use them for the most part. They are never the less powerful magical items.
It's not 'she was willing to go that far', Renner herself says "all I had to do was sellout one measly kingdom". Truth is she was willing to do whatever it took to achieve her goal, be it one kingdom... or fifty!!

The Arrival of Nazarick really just gave her the catalyst to formulate the actual plan and she did follow through on that pretty much how she planned it. She most likely started planning the moment Ainz made his persona and his nation known and she saw the opportunity the moment it presented itself as she longed for so long to break free and being the hyper-intelligent twisted demon she is it really wasnt that long for her to come up with said plan.
She's been plotting for years, waiting for her opportunity. Her original goal was to escape the indignity of being forced into an arranged marriage for the kingdom's political gain. Climb is a side quest to her, but one that she is quite obsessed with. She loves him, but sees him more like a pet than a partner.
She had already been plotting and playing off factions against each other even before Ainz's misfits showed up. I am curious though, how did the Nazarickians make contact with her in the first place? Was the demon conversion thing already her plan before they arrived?
Her original plan was less than inhumane she intended to overthrow her older brother barbo to allow zanac climb the throne when he does that he will allow her to marry climb.
By the way, it is Rainere, not Renner. The text translations are whacked btw. Climb should be Kline and Brain should be Bran. Whoever did it apparently does not speak english all that well.
@RiseKujikawas They can't be translated names because those names don't make any sense. They are probably translated phonetically to what the translator thinks sounds like the original name. In the anime "Renner" is definitely pronounced "Rainere" though, and that is a real name, so I think the english version was just translated sloppily. The original names would have been real names, but pronounced in Japanese, which the translators then garbled when converting back to English. The telephone effect at work. If they had originally had Japanese names there would not have been a problem.
