Yes. You are right . It's from Tales From The Jedi : Dark Lords of The Sith comic. It was Freedon Nadd shown in the video that guided Exar Kun to Korriban and Yavin 4 before Exar Kun destroyed Nadd's spirit.
If Ragnos rose and took a new body, 'most powerful ever' Sidious would be a mid level servant and consider himself fortunate not to have been viewed as even a minor threat. First hint of betrayal, Ragnos would ragdoll him.
@@desmondhodges9710 Oh absolutely! Sidious had the Empire and that made him mighty, and he was no slouch on his own, but there were several old school Sith who could have destroyed him in a straight fight, and Valkorion would have slaughtered most of those.
You guys realize that Sidious is stated to be the most powerful sith lord EVER, right? I much prefer characters like Marka Ragnos and Vitiate, but Sidious is literally stated to be stronger than everyone, which includes those two. Sidious wiped out entire fleets of ships and destroyed planets WITHOUT needing a fuck ton of time and artifacts like Vitiate. Sidious was possibly the greatest lightsaber duelist of all time, rivaling or even surpassing Exar Kun or Tulak Hold. The lightsaber was a joke to Sidious, he mastered it to mock the Jedi and because it was hilariously easy for him. This is another point: Vitiate sucked ass at lightsaber dueling, and Marka Ragnos probably did too. Sidious would not only stomp them in the force, he would completely destroy them with a lightsaber.
@@DankMemes-xq2xm you should read the Darth Bane trilogy again, there are many kinds of power. When he was Emperor, with stormtroopers and fleets and Hands, I could probably concede that he was the greatest in terms of the war he could bring. but not as a one on one dark side warrior. his storms were neat, but he probably wasn't the only one who could do it. He had little to no control, Vitiate probably could have done the same thing, but he was too smart to use a power that might destroy him, same for Ragnos. Sadow could blow up a star, I think that is more powerful, but he rarely did it because of the danger, he wasn't crazy. as far as dueling, he was probably a master, but he relied on his power, he relied on being faster. he would probably beat Ragnos who never held a lightsaber, same for Vitiate who never owned one. but Exar Kun? never. he was powerful, he had his strengths, he was probably the most dangerous, but 'most powerful' is tricky, and you can be 'more powerful' in certain areas and still be completely borked if you are locked in a room alone with Bane.
The fact he can actually GIVE the force as a gift to a non force sensitive makes you incredibly and Aww inspiring. I heard bit and pieces of him when I watched some vids on the old republic but never truly know the guy. This makes him way more powerful than sidious in every aspect to me. Sidious toyed, tortured and killed his enemies and some non force sensitive but he never gave the force to anyone. If he did then I havent seen it or heard of him doing so. This is wow to me. My 1st favorite sith, 2nd, Darth Revan
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's now canon that he made Anakin. So you could compare the "giving" the ability to use the force to him making a literal Star Wars Jesus.
Rosh...Tavion...Alora…Fyarr...the Disciples of Ragnos...Shadowtroopers...the Kothos Twins (the big, muscled dudes that you kill when fighting Rosh). There's literally so much to talk about here!! I cannot agree more with you
Those who would understand that Ragnos was an ancient Sith that no one fucked with, should, in that of itself, explains his power. He even allowed himself to die because he new death wasn't something he feared like the rest of the Sith, who always sought immortality of some kind. He knew how strong his Sith Spirit was and knew it would last eons, till he found a worthy successor at the very least. It's because what is known about him is so varied and little, that some lists just forget he exists
Great Video. Marka Ragnos is like the Greek Mythos of Hades. The Emperor of Darkness. Like Hades, Marka would give a person a chance to prove, but if deemed unworthy, Marka would see the individual as an pawn of the Sith. Is there any book about Marka Ragnos? And would Marka decimate Sidious? Vader?
*_Sidious would beat Ragnos, but Vader would be decimated._* *_As far as books go, there's practically nothing on him. He's barely mentioned but when he is, it's about how insanely powerful he was._*
I argue the reason why the Ancient Sith are more powerful than Modern Jedi is because the modern Jedi have stagnated from years of forgetting how to fight Sith They focused more in Enlightenment and being a police organization to the Republic, forgetting mostly about Lightsaber combat and Force techniques as Jedi thought they no longer need that The Ancient Sith besides their bloodlines of being related to the naturally attuned Dark Side Race the Sith, they lived in an age of war and spent their lives preparing for it It’s unknown truly how the Ancient Sith would fare against Modern Sith especially against Palpatine and Vader, who were arguably the strongest Sith ever (confirmed in Canon but less defined in Legends ), but likely the Ancient Sith would have knowledge that’s forgotten or at least less known by the Modern Sith which would give them an advantage
"When comparing we sith to the ancient ones, tulak horde once said fighting us was like fighting children with sticks" no sith dared to even betray ragnos and there was never a single defeat by him. Vader didnt show much force power other than telekinesis and force choke. Vader also lost several times just as a jedi or mostly human to ones such as, dooku, grevious when he captured them and let's not forget obi wan cutting him in half to have him fall in lava...While ragnos had access to force storm, lightning, choke, decay etc. I would say it would be better to compare ti sidious but his death as a sith lord is underwhelming. He simply died from being picked up and thrown down a deep fall. Why not force levitate? Why not have panels RIP off the walls to catch him? Both Vader and sidious showed powers that any acolyte of the sith could do, so to me...canon having them be the most powerful sith ever is just Disney saying "hey guys we made these characters so they are the strongest deal with it" I do agree with your stagnation point on the jedi though.
Palpatine and Vader are nothing compared to true Sith of the past. Sidious is probably one of the smartest, but Vitiate outpowers him in everything, including in planning and scheming. And Vader? Please, Revan would wipe the floor with him and not break a sweat.
@@codywotring8973 blame it in the time it was created. They didn't have the special effects to have sidious do something like that. Also sidious was a 90 year old human. Also legends had a problem with power scaling. They kept the series alive for so long they had to constantly one up what they did last time and that's how we ended up with all these crazy powerful ancient sith.
@@RobotWizard4209 but that is the only way to keep the series alive. Canon has had access to the new array of powers, it can be said many of these abilities has been lost to time, and they could try to bring them into the current star wars films. But for whatever reason they dont use the amazing resource that is, legends. That's why sidious and vader will always be acolytes in my eyes because they font show me anything an acolyte couldn't do
Don't forget that Marka Ragnos first initiated the original rule of two by anointing Exar Kune as Sith Lord and Ulic Qel Droma as his first and foremost apprentice from which Darth Revan would take and add his views on and would later inspire Darth Bane and his final incarnation of the rule of two.
The EU had the cool shit ! Fuck if I was OP ! That's what made it good man. It's a perfect example of a universe where the human limit is stretched with Telekinesis and magic. The ability for a person to survive falling from orbit (Luke), turning the surface of worlds to ash (Palpatine), siphoning the lives of every living thing on a planet (Vitiate/Nihilus) or being able to live a prolonged life after multiple deaths just because you're very angry (Sion) is so beyond physically possible in the real world that reading about it brings up a feeling of joy and happiness when reading the comics and novels that these characters survive and bring upon others ! Dude, Disney could just bring back Legends in full and have The First Order/Resistance Timeline take place a hundred or so years after the Legacy Era. An just for a side note, I've made a 2,000 year timeline fan fic for after the Legacy Era 😂
Which is why there is a Star Wars Legends movement that is petitioning Disney and Lucasfilm to continue Star Wars Legends as its own separate continuity.
I've always loved Marka Ragnos. I think he is the most powerful Sith Lord ever. He is the pinnacle of perfect dark side. He is my inspirational Sith Lord. Well him and Darth Bane are my two favorite Sith of all time. With Darth Jadus following close behind.
I played the Jedi Academy game, so I knew about his existence, and now I just think he's cooler than before. As for power ranking, the fact that he was able to do so much that no one before, or since has been able to do with the force. Makes him quite possibly the most powerful force user of all time.
By the rationality of Yoda himself, if you were to live long enough and follow the darkside you'd learn more in shorter time, so if you had a life as long as Yoda you'd literally be the force.
I have followed you for quite a while now, and I have watched all your videos... I rarely comment, but I personally think this is one of your best videos so far!
Judging the most powerful sith is way too hard. Ragnos is very mythical, so half of it could be exaggerated. Beings like Sidious, Revan, Hord, Valkorian, Vader, Nihilius are all extremely powerful.
Apparently there was a darth Sion who was literally too angry to die. You would kill his body, then he would get up and say "no u" People couldn't kill him someone literally had to convince him to stay dead (which they did so I guess he is a dullard because it was a really stupid argument) but you can't deny his power.
Marka Ragnos is one of my all time favorites! I would rank him as one of the top 5 most powerful and greatest Sith Lords, Force users. I also frequently use Marka Ragnos as an inspiration for some of my video game characters.
I love the ancient Sith lore with all my heart but Palpatine is a monster of the dark side. But here's a scarier thought my friend: *Imagine multiplying Palpatine and Valkorian's powers if they fused spirits* 😨😨😨😨😨
Palpatine strongest asset is his mind, his plots and cunning got him where he wanted, in power he was weaker than his master, that's why he poisoned Plagueis instead of defeating him in a duel. He has his merits for sure, but he is not "the best in every category", he just knew how to use his talents for his advantage.
He has been given titles like: "Most powerful Darkside user" "The Darkside's most powerful expression." "The most powerful Sith of all time." And that's just to name a few so I would say he is stronger than the ancients, most of them by a long shot.
Tales of the Jedi, my favorite SW comics. This arc was slightly marred by Veitch leaving it in the hands of Kevin J Anderson and the general decline in comics art quality in the mid-to-late 90's, but still an epic story and worth reading!
Wallahi, he and Vectivus were the only Sith lords known to have died nonviolently. Vectivus used his sith powers as a business man instead of persuing the dark side, while Ragnos was such a leader that no-one was able to challenge him and died in old age.
@@rolandduson2021 pretty sure khaduras is just a jedi supporter. The Fact that no one ever bested Marka Ragnos and that his SPIRIT affected dozens of individuals many many years after his death is a testament to his power. Its literally quoted that his death (which as far as we know was natural) signaled the end of the golden age of the sith. He is probably the strongest sith in existence. Sidious' "strongest sith ever" titles were always just lucas fodder cuz the EU characters were more interesting than the movie ones. The fans just wanted to invalidate anyone who isnt luke or sidious.
Its funny, now the starwars lore mirrors real life: all the myths and legends are so much more interesting and satisfying than the actual canon. If this were canon, Ragnos would be gender fluid, and Vititate would be a queer KX series cyborg.
Thank you for making this awesome video. Ragnos history is unique, interesting, and awesome. I wish they made a trilogy of books that explains Ragnos rise to power, maintain the power and death.
I think that he is the most powerful Sith Lord. Because one he was never overthrown by another Sith an he died of old age. He also lived for a century or more. What other Sith Lord in the whole star wars history can say the same? And he was on or above Tenabree in terms of raw Force power. So that's why I think he's the most powerful Sith Lord to have ever lived.
You forget the ritual Vitiate made. He tricked a LOT of sith lords into a ritual. He sacrificed them ALL and drained their power for himself! Before the ritual he was weaker than Ragnos, but after...
What I don't get is I can remember in SW:TOR and lore from the EU and other games, books, comics, etc.. , that Marka Ragnos was a 'Half--Breed of incredible power , both in the Force and physically' , I believe Kreia may have said it in KotoR 2 ? But, a Crossbreed of What ? And why are there multiple pictures and art work of him having Blue skin , much like a Chiss ?? If anything I thought perhaps he was like Half-mAssassi and half-human , or half-Hybrid Pure Blood ? And, if he was so strong with the Force and most Sith submitted to his will, why is he seen as the Teacher of the Defensive Art of the Immortal Juggernauts ? Or , was his Force power of syphoning off others Force Power & Abilities what made him so 'Immortal' , so unstoppable, so undefeatable ? Questions that I've long had and have no answers for , but I hope & pray some of you might shed some light on these for me. Thank you in advance. :-) TSS
Tenabrae isnt just as powerful as Sidious he is immensely more powerful. He had Immortality and Valkorions force lightning made Sidious' look like a taser...
Not to mention the fact the Vitiate could wipe out life on a whole planet with just a flick of the wrist and the use of an ancient Sith ritual that was also used on the planet Nathema. All the while Sidious needs technology and a machine to do it.
Also, I would like to know more about the one Sith Lord who was entombed in the great Sith tomb on the old Sith Empire's Capitol world, Dromund Kas. The one that was similar to Revan in his thinking that true power comes from being in tune with both the light and the dark. The mission I learned about him was in the one where you have to deal off the doors to chambers where other Sith Lords lay.
Ive never really thought about it til this video but after all the facts put together I feel Marka Ragnos desrves #1 on the most powerful list since he was never defeated and died of old age something that is indeed almost unheard of in the Sith culture
I really think the reason that ancient force users were so powerful was because the jedi and sith were so busy fighting each other. The fact they were both fighting for survival against each other drove them to any heights needed to do so.
Would love to see Benioff and Weiss create a epic adaptation of Marko Ragno's Sith era. Ultimately showing the genesis of how the Jedi vs Sith conflict began through great story, quality dialogue, Rogue One esque tone, badass characters, epic light saber duels, amazing battles, insane choreography, & force prowess being wielded at its highest capacity.
Maybe in your opinion but not everyone shares it. After all both have they share both good and bad stories. Something that vocal minority seems to ignore because of they are blinded by hate.
Admittedly I knew everything you said in this video before viewing. However this is mostly because there's not a lot of information on him. That being said the bit of information we get shows that he's quite possibly one of the strongest Sith Lords ever, if not the strongest. Excellent video

Long story short: Marka Ragnos: Greatest force user, Tulak Hord: Greatest Dualist
REVAN GREATEST DUEL REVAN
@@gulfidanbayrak523 Revan is not the strongest duelist.
@Commander Shepard not necessarily but he is up there. He's tied with Legends Thrawn in my opinion
Revan studied all forms of lightsaber combat
@@Kakirinkato-san Many jedi and sith mastered all lightsaber forms. Most of them are better than Revan at it
If Ragnos rose and took a new body, 'most powerful ever' Sidious would be a mid level servant and consider himself fortunate not to have been viewed as even a minor threat. First hint of betrayal, Ragnos would ragdoll him.
Facts Valkoryion would wamp sidious to
@@desmondhodges9710 Oh absolutely!
You don't seem to understand how powerful Sidious is...

I love learning about the Sith.
Tssss bro you never lie
Great Video. Marka Ragnos is like the Greek Mythos of Hades. The Emperor of Darkness. Like Hades, Marka would give a person a chance to prove, but if deemed unworthy, Marka would see the individual as an pawn of the Sith.
Is there any book about Marka Ragnos? And would Marka decimate Sidious? Vader?
There is the Tales of the Jedi comics. But he's only really mentioned in those..
*_Sidious would beat Ragnos, but Vader would be decimated._*
*_As far as books go, there's practically nothing on him. He's barely mentioned but when he is, it's about how insanely powerful he was._*
I think EU Sidious could atand a chance. But Current Cannon Sidious... Hmm.. Dunno.
Does this mean that Marka Ragnos could have potentially known Pyro-Kenesis?!
@Jacob Harton I'm aware. I just thought.
I argue the reason why the Ancient Sith are more powerful than Modern Jedi is because the modern Jedi have stagnated from years of forgetting how to fight Sith
They focused more in Enlightenment and being a police organization to the Republic, forgetting mostly about Lightsaber combat and Force techniques as Jedi thought they no longer need that
The Ancient Sith besides their bloodlines of being related to the naturally attuned Dark Side Race the Sith, they lived in an age of war and spent their lives preparing for it
It’s unknown truly how the Ancient Sith would fare against Modern Sith especially against Palpatine and Vader, who were arguably the strongest Sith ever (confirmed in Canon but less defined in Legends ), but likely the Ancient Sith would have knowledge that’s forgotten or at least less known by the Modern Sith which would give them an advantage
Both Vader and sidious showed powers that any acolyte of the sith could do, so to me...canon having them be the most powerful sith ever is just Disney saying "hey guys we made these characters so they are the strongest deal with it"
I do agree with your stagnation point on the jedi though.
Palpatine and Vader are nothing compared to true Sith of the past. Sidious is probably one of the smartest, but Vitiate outpowers him in everything, including in planning and scheming. And Vader? Please, Revan would wipe the floor with him and not break a sweat.
Lame. Why wouldn’t they get more powerful overtime.
The EU had all the class.
EU is 1000x more fascinating than Skywalker trilogy.
An EU has most of the best characters and storylines too

I've always loved Marka Ragnos. I think he is the most powerful Sith Lord ever. He is the pinnacle of perfect dark side. He is my inspirational Sith Lord. Well him and Darth Bane are my two favorite Sith of all time. With Darth Jadus following close behind.
I played the Jedi Academy game, so I knew about his existence, and now I just think he's cooler than before.
As for power ranking, the fact that he was able to do so much that no one before, or since has been able to do with the force. Makes him quite possibly the most powerful force user of all time.
He is so powerful that his spirit is still around! He is my favorite star wars character. Do Ragnos vs exar vs sideous.
By the rationality of Yoda himself, if you were to live long enough and follow the darkside you'd learn more in shorter time, so if you had a life as long as Yoda you'd literally be the force.
I've never heard of this Sith Lord until now and when you were explaining his feats of how awesome he was, I was like damn. Awesome vid keep it up.

No. Ajunta Pall was just the creator of the Sith doctrine. Ragnos was the first Dark Lord of the Sith.

Judging the most powerful sith is way too hard. Ragnos is very mythical, so half of it could be exaggerated. Beings like Sidious, Revan, Hord, Valkorian, Vader, Nihilius are all extremely powerful.
All that without naming me... a disgrace

Apparently there was a darth Sion who was literally too angry to die. You would kill his body, then he would get up and say "no u" People couldn't kill him someone literally had to convince him to stay dead (which they did so I guess he is a dullard because it was a really stupid argument) but you can't deny his power.
The man could gift the force...... never have I ever heard of such a thing even be duplicated through time.
It’s cooler (and makes more sense) when ancient Jedi knights and Sith have actual swords and armor.
Lightsabers: 🤨
Marka Ragnos is one of my all time favorites! I would rank him as one of the top 5 most powerful and greatest Sith Lords, Force users. I also frequently use Marka Ragnos as an inspiration for some of my video game characters.
The Old Republic was definitely so powerful and incredibly awesome

Ragnos was actually the final boss of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
I miss this game 🎮
Palpatine was never stronger than the ancients, not by a long shot. You know this.
I love the ancient Sith lore with all my heart but Palpatine is a monster of the dark side. But here's a scarier thought my friend:
*Imagine multiplying Palpatine and Valkorian's powers if they fused spirits*
😨😨😨😨😨
Lol dont go there this is not dragon ball...
He has been given titles like:
"Most powerful Darkside user"
"The Darkside's most powerful expression."
"The most powerful Sith of all time."
And that's just to name a few so I would say he is stronger than the ancients, most of them by a long shot.
The Futurist Voice No matter how much you or I want to deny it, Darth Sidious is *still* lore wise given the title "Strongest Sith in History"
Tales of the Jedi, my favorite SW comics. This arc was slightly marred by Veitch leaving it in the hands of Kevin J Anderson and the general decline in comics art quality in the mid-to-late 90's, but still an epic story and worth reading!
Marka Ragnos.
In two of the best Star Wars games, Kotor and Jedi Academy. Yet will never get his chance to be heard of in a film
Wallahi, he and Vectivus were the only Sith lords known to have died nonviolently. Vectivus used his sith powers as a business man instead of persuing the dark side, while Ragnos was such a leader that no-one was able to challenge him and died in old age.

Love this lore stuff. Thanks man.
Before the ritual he was weaker than Ragnos, but after...
and his first name was "Tenebrae" and not the bs you wrote.
I love the story of Ragnos and his pivotal role in one of my favorite SW games, Jedi Academy. Died a bit too easily at the end though.

:-) TSS
I hope someone can answer all your questions because I'm really interested about all that too now that you've mentioned it!
That's pretty epic!
Tenabrae isnt just as powerful as Sidious he is immensely more powerful. He had Immortality and Valkorions force lightning made Sidious' look like a taser...
And he and his master mastered being force ghosts and force possession while sidouse in the eu could only posses clone bodies
