"It is you who fears death. Valkorion. I do not. I will not kneel" the most badass sith and braver than any other because all they wanted was to extend there lives out of cowedise.
That's legimitately untrue of many Sith, sure plenty were only concerned with not dying, but a great many actually had a purpose greater than just themselves. Darth Vectivus (who mostly just studied the force for the benefit of future generations and died surrounded by friends), Darth Revan (who, while evil, was only trying to conquer the galaxy to prepare it for the invasion of the true Sith), Darth Gravid (who actually tried to meld Sith teachings with those of the Jedi, and in doing so weakened the Sith) and others. The reasons people pursue the Sith teachings are varied
@Jarrod Reed vitiate was a narcissistic sociopath with delusions of Godhood that used advanced sith alchemy to enhance his already godlike abilities to unending amounts. He was a sith though. When he annihilated Ziost he was overwhelmed like revan was and retreated to Zakuul and became more than a mere sith as Valkorion he was a master alchemist thus his godlike power nihilus was close but didn't go as far, revan was actually the weakest dark lord, kun was a pathetic dark jedi, Sadow was a very powerful sith and marr was a smart, deceitful borderline sociopath who saw the empire as what it could be with a proper leader and he would have gotten away with it to if it wasn't for those meddling knights... 😂 😂 😂
When i did that part i immediately went "you're just trying to become emperor aren't you" and then he said that and immediately gained multiple respect points
During Darth Bane's era when he was in the academy, a lot of sith adopted this philosophy and they nearly destroyed the jedi. They had demolished the jedi's morale so much that the jedi took a page out of the sith book and started turning on each other and accusing each other. You read it in path of destruction when the battle master lord hoth begins to panic and starts yelling at his fellow jedi.
Valkorion: Kneel. Marr: No. Valkorion: Please? Marr: No. Valkorion: Then you would prefer death? Marr: Yes. Valkorion: Really? You would rather die than acknowledge my superiority? Marr: It is YOU who fears death, "Valkorion". I do not! I will not kneel! Valkorion: Are you sure? Marr: Yes! I will never again kneel to you! Valkorion: ...Are you SURE? Marr: Screw this. (Grabs a staff and begins to own Valkorion's guards) *Valkorion kills Marr* *Marr appears as a Force ghost* Marr: Lmao skill issue. Valkorion: GODDAMMIT!
"You cannot win "Valkorion". If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." Interesting to note that a Sith in peace with the possibility of his death becomes one with the Force. Jedi are generally not afraid of dying since they believe "There is no Death, there is the Force". Sith on the other hand are generally afraid of dying. This can mainly be seen with Palpatine or Andeddu but also Vitiate as they do everything they can to become immortal. In fine, most of them only managed to bound part of their essence to places or objects like Holocrons. Others managed, though their pure power, to have their spirit stay in the galaxy, although it is not a pleasant existence and has driven most mad. It seems that the acceptance of his imminent death allowed him to remain in the galaxy like Jedi do.
it's kind of hilarious that a dark lord of the sith and member of the dark council became a force ghost despite countless jedi failing to achieve this state. It just further proves the complete failure and corruption of the jedi
The greatest Sith of all time. Sure others were more powerful but Marr represented something many other sith lacked, honor. And I love how he was not so stupid to where he could not compromise. He agreed to work with Satele in life and even found understanding with her after his death. “In life, I dismissed the Jedi code. I was wrong. There is no death. There is only the Force and it has a plan.” - Darth Marr. My favorite Sith, ever!
Marr and Malgus both, they had the basic Sith need for personal power and glory, but also a true faith in the empire and it's people. Marr a bit more visibly so, but Malgus was also ready to sacrifice everything if it meant the Empire could survive
Ivan Timofeevich in the end when he accepted part of the Jedi code, yeah, he was not a true with anymore, but before that he was, compromising with one enemy to focus on a more important one doesn’t change that

Asbjørn Vedsted true but if he was true manifestation of dark side he wouldn’t be sooooo obsessed with immortality & the unknown regions. Palpatine was just a high powerful servant of the dark side but showed his humanly cowardice to live forever. Which in retrospect is more of a human trait rather than a dark side symbol.
The old Republic is very close to being completely cannon. Darth Nihilis, Sith troopers, HK 47, Sith assassins, and Jedi warriors appear in the New Galaxy of heros game made by Disney. Darth Revan is in the Deleted scenes of the clone wars. The Sith temple of Malacore is featured in Star Wars Rebels with remains of a battle between the Jedi and the Sith; and possibly the voice of Darth Treya, or another Sith Lady from the SWOR era could be speaking through the Sith holocron. SWR season three also made the Mandalorian Jedi and War cannon.
Remember, Canon has only existed for 3 years, while Legends have been there for 39 or 40 years, so of course we haven't had a Canon The Old Republic thing, let alone content that took place thousands of years before the Battle of Yavin (the rebel attack on the first Death Star that resulted in the Death Star's destruction). Disney will slowly re-canonize the Old Republic things. In fact, as Paul Philip said, work has already been done on some of the Old Republic things. One example is how Malachor was the site of an ancient battle between the Jedi and Sith and a Sith structure of sorts in Canon, just like in Legends (except Malachor was called Malachor V in Legends). It is even speculated that the Presence (the mysterious voice in a Sith holocron found on Malachor in Star Wars Rebels) in Canon is at least a Canon equivalent to Darth Traya from TOR.
( sandromnator , Paul Philp , DanKilorySpock - STAR WARS )Agreed. I do think Disney will allow a lot of Legends back into Canon, but let's hope it works out better than the new Canon for Kyber-crystals and further lightsaber mythos

marr is by far my favorite sith of all time simply because he was more like the modern sith in terms of politics but at a time when the sith were more warriors. he held the sith empire together by himself which is something i think very few sith could do and marr does not get enough credit for that achievement. in fact the only sith i think could have done what marr did was palpatine himself as other sith would likely have not been able to keep the sith empire in check like marr did.
Palpatine was the complete opposite of Marr. Palpatine just like Valkorion was mostly out for his personal gain just like most sith. He just happened to be a good politician. Marr however cared for his people. He used the dark side of the force for the good of the sith empire and not for himself which is why he kept the empire together.
Stego1819 Arguably not, Palpatine finally achieved the dream of the Sith. He also was acting to prepare the galaxy for the Yuzhan Vong, I can't remember how to spell it. No I don't think he could have held the empire *like* Marr did but may have ascended to Vititate's position. Palpatine was not out for personal gain, he was out for the gain of the Sith Order (Rule of 2) just in a politician's way unlike the warrior route with Marr.
@Edward Griffiths Are you sure that he wanted to prepare the galaxy for the vong? As far as I know it is only a fan theory and it simply doesnt fit into the personality of Palpatine and he also stopped Vader from becoming a stronger sith just so that he would stay in power.
Easily the most badass Sith in not only the game but any Star Wars era. Beneath his cool outlook was a veteran ravaged in both mind and body ready to die any time for the empire. He was the most reasonable Sith you could find in that era. I remember grinding a lot as a new-ish player to get his armor(since the set was above 10m on my server).
That was just a rumour. It’s also possible that the Moff did so because he had somehow angered Marr and so committed suicide rather than face his wrath. And said incident grew into a sort of legend about his appearance.
Well, it was just a rumour. It could also be the Moff killed himself because he was so afraid of knowing what Marr looked like under the mask, as Marr had previously destroyed or silenced everything and everyone who had any information about his past. Marr wished to be seen as a symbol, not as a person.
Darth Marr is one of my favorite sith lords ever. The Force is a paradox. It empowers, and imprisons. It destroys and unites. It binds the galaxy together, and tears people apart. It has a will... but needs a commander. -Darth Marr
Broken Bridge same here he truly redeemed himself he was skilled powerful fearless and intelligent yet he had honor that's almost unheard-of considering he is/was a sith
Marr and Malgus are the exact opposite of each other Marr : he was loved AND respected (like darth imperuis aka light side sith inquisitor) Malgus : he was mostly feared (maybe that's he was the best candidate for the third emperor's wrath)
Malgus had a lover...and he killed her. Kind of why I went from "Malgus is fucking badass" to "Fucking die." Still, throwing the fact he killed his lover aside...he is one of the strongest Sith to ever grace the Star Wars universe. His knowledge of the force, just by understanding is probably only bested by Vitiate. His skill in combat? His only equal is probably Vader who based his fighting OFF of Malgus' style. Malgus' could probably take Vader apart considering that when he killed his lover...SHE became his power...in death, she was his greatest strength. The pain that she was gone, the love he had her for, the hatred at himself for killing her...THAT fueled him...and probably why he fucking stabbed himself AFTER BEING CRUSHED just to get out from under Acina's thumb. Stabbed himself. Yea...he fucking strong as all get out.
Yeah... they ought to have crowned Darth Marr Emperor after Vitiate's true agenda became more widely known (or at least after the Hero of Tython defeated him).
One of my favorite Sith Lords in Star Wars. Really can't hate Darth Marr, one of the very few honorable Sith I've came across. That and his voice actor is amazing.
Marr reminds me a lot of Bane from the Dark Knight Rises. He projects this...PRESENCE that is very easy to admire. You can FEEL that he is powerful even when he isn't actually fighting, and he has proven himself to be not only smart, but also open minded, so even though the jedi-sith alliance was something that many struggled to accept, if memory serves, he was actually willing to go along with it without much problems. I don't know if I call it a miss that he never showed his face (from what I saw so far), but I will say that he OWNED every scene he was in.
This dude is my favorite Sith... He is just ridiculously awesome. Him and the Sith dude who lets you in to fight Baras saying: "Oh this is going to be great, if only we could sell tickets!"

It been 2 years after this video, but for me, Darth Marr is one of the sith lords who take the sith code and mix with the jedi code, one of the feel to be a beacon of hope and power in the force
I've got a lot of "favorite" Sith but Darth Marr's probably the top dog. I modeled my Sith Warrior in SWTOR after him, serving the Empire, but with honor. Too bad he died quick. I'd pay to see more of that fella.
Wow... this really made me want to get back into SWTOR after all this time! I'm going to see if I can remember my account info and continue where I left off! Great video!
+The Scoundrel's Cantina You missed "Isotope-5" a point of major importance and influence to the strength of the Imperials. Where a small task-force sent and directed by Marr saved the planet from destruction due to the over-mining of Isotope-5 by the Hutts. th-cam.com/video/Fv6fPlQBvFQ/w-d-xo.html
Marr has escalated to be among my favorite Sith. He seems much more moderate and tempered than most Sith. He didn't believe in ambition superseding duty, nor did he crave power for personal sake. Much rather craving it for the success of the Empire. He also carried a sense of respect for other species and the Jedi.
I've never seen the story of Darth Marr until now and if I had to choose a Sith Lord to follow it would be him. Whether it be extreme power and strength or in the force, those mean nothing to me. A true show of strength in my eyes is honor. For myself if I'm going to die I may as well die in a battle with honor.
Believe me we never do anything for the community. Almost everything you guys ever ask is already on our to do list because we simply want to do it all for ourselves. Personal pleasure in doing it all :)
Darth marr is a rare type of sith lord. An honorable man despite the dark side, refusing to kneel before darth vitiate, and didn't let the fear of death stop him knowing death itself was inevitable, and believed the sith empire had to evolve to survive.
Darth Marr is basically the Sith version of Master Windu, while being prodigy in the traditional way (side) of the force, they also did not deny and found useful the opposite side (Windu's dark side saber style and Marr's becoming one with the force), both went to arrest some force user (Marr was more successful tho :D) leading their other council members, also both were eventually killed by some sorta sith emperor.
Marr, a Sith Lord who is a devout practitioner of the dark side of the force. However, he didn’t let that corrupt his morals. Very honorable, for a Sith Lord.
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover your channel dude, being a huge Star Wars fan and watching channels like the lore master, the carcasans and the supentous wave. Great video. Sorry for the spelling mistakes #dyslexic
After playing SWTOR so long I nearly cried when they killed off Darth Marr I still refuse to finish the quest on my main I still have Darth Marr as my companion

@Edward Griffiths Are you sure that he wanted to prepare the galaxy for the vong? As far as I know it is only a fan theory and it simply doesnt fit into the personality of Palpatine and he also stopped Vader from becoming a stronger sith just so that he would stay in power.
Stego1819 No it was EU canon now Legends. I am sure.
@Edward Griffiths It was also canon in Legends that Palpatine wanted to abolish the rule of two which is why he created the Dark Empire.
Mackem Slinger I got some of his armor from a pack, I was so happy! One of the coolest armor sets in all of Star Wars, this man truly is a symbol
the armor is called "reavers armor" you can also get it by getting a level 80 valor from pvp
Best sith during the final era of the old republic
Jarrod Reed Yeah but Malgus would have won that duel but I agree it would be an amazing fight.
He was so ugly...a man committed suicide from seeing his face? Damn 0.0 We thought Sidious and Vader had it bad.
Darth Marr, Still wonder how you look like.......deam!
Hey at least his body is in great shape, just look at him
That was just a rumour.
-Darth Marr
This was a fun vid. Darth Marr's story is probably one of the more fascinating of the SW universe. I smiled when he came back as a force ghost.
Broken Bridge same here he truly redeemed himself he was skilled powerful fearless and intelligent yet he had honor that's almost unheard-of considering he is/was a sith
True enough Jon Green and thanks for replying.
“That Armor is useless”
Darth Marr:well i want to be remembered as a cool sith so i will still wear this
I mean who can argue with that?
Marr and Malgus are the exact opposite of each other
Marr : he was loved AND respected (like darth imperuis aka light side sith inquisitor)
Malgus : he was mostly feared (maybe that's he was the best candidate for the third emperor's wrath)
Malgus had a lover...and he killed her.
Kind of why I went from "Malgus is fucking badass" to "Fucking die."
Still, throwing the fact he killed his lover aside...he is one of the strongest Sith to ever grace the Star Wars universe.
If I needed to choose one of the dark council members as my ally and the rest of them would be my enemy I would choose Darth Marr
Same :D
Good choice Darth Nox *I say in a raspy cold voice*
Yeah... they ought to have crowned Darth Marr Emperor after Vitiate's true agenda became more widely known (or at least after the Hero of Tython defeated him).
I choose my self
Darth Marr: I'm not afraid of death, i will not kneel!
The emperor of ethernal: Then you will die braver than most.
One of my favorite Sith Lords in Star Wars. Really can't hate Darth Marr, one of the very few honorable Sith I've came across. That and his voice actor is amazing.
This one story is many times better than episode 7
Every story is better then episode 7 ;)
The Scoundrel's Cantina EP 7 story is amazing
And 8
Golden Kuriza No lol
Golden Kuriza
You mean episode 4
We hope you all enjoyed this video :) Please leave your video requests bellow!
BTW we are starting a new channel which will be about Warcraft, LOTR, Pirates Of The Caribbean lore (possibly even something more). Here is the link for it if you want to support us: th-cam.com/channels/oPC7dkH_sUxQtGR0j4rZdg.html
The Scoundrel's Cantina okay
The Scoundrel's Cantina You could do a video about Iokath and their droids
The Scoundrel's Cantina God bless you.
Nice to hear it, you and fact free are my favorite sources of information about Star Wars!
Love y'a
The Scoundrel's Cantina: The new channel sounds really awesome! 👍
I'm convinced Marr was a Mandolorian before he became sith
Would explain his honour
Lol such a random ending line to say. "God is awesome"
I was like: "What does that have to with anything?"
He says it in all of his videos
Same it shook me a little. Like idk I'm not mad but like... What? Lmao. Took me by surprise for sure
Darth Marr is a badass!
Darth jadus is more badass.
I just want to say (because people are predisposed to post negative comments, when they’re upset by something) that I am a hardcore atheist, and I do not care at all that you say “God is awesome” at the end. You make great videos. Your beliefs are simply not on the rubric for me. Keep it up, man!
SteelmanNotStrawman May the force be with you. ;)
Tru
It been 2 years after this video, but for me, Darth Marr is one of the sith lords who take the sith code and mix with the jedi code, one of the feel to be a beacon of hope and power in the force
Revan, Marr Vectivus & Vader, all are so fantastic legends. I hope we get Old Republic in Canon from Revan timeline
I desperately want a movie saga during this time! That would be so amazing!
I've got a lot of "favorite" Sith but Darth Marr's probably the top dog. I modeled my Sith Warrior in SWTOR after him, serving the Empire, but with honor. Too bad he died quick. I'd pay to see more of that fella.
He's like a benevolent Sith Lord
Wow... this really made me want to get back into SWTOR after all this time! I'm going to see if I can remember my account info and continue where I left off! Great video!
MicrowavableToast yeah it's a great game. I haven't played since last October but I'll probably play it again
Where u get this game
Mitch Bittermann on the website. Just look up Star Wars the old republic online
I really appreciate the depth in which you explain things. Thank you and God bless you!
Although as a Sith I disagree the ways of it, this Sith Lord had earned my full respect
When he became one with the force i just am awed at how strong his will in defending the empire.
Probably the only sith lord Wrath and Nox called friend
Do Emperor Valkorian, the Immortal Sith Emperor who Ruled the Sith and the Eternal Empire
Brickcraft productions I've been asking the same thing for a while
Marr is easy to respect as a character
he was the hero of the Sith Empire
Darth Marr could have been that sith force ghost who was cut in the deleted Luke scene in The Last Jedi.
He died in the same way he lived.Fighting!
Ok, so he's a little bit of a badass.
In death he achieved without even attempting the thing that sith to come would spend their lives looking for in vane
Marr was/shall always be my favorite Star Wars character.
There is being badass and then there is being Darth Marr badass.
He's so badass he makes John Wick blush.
Thank you for giving another otherwise unknown character the spotlight he rightfully deserves. Keep up the good work and MTFBWY.
Can you do videos based on the different swtor classes. I know it's an rpg but like bioware did with revan, I'm sure you can decide what best fits.
I like this idea
I loved the fact that you said "God is awesome" t the end, SUBSCRIBED
Me too
He was never the strongest, mightiest or most intelligent Sith, but he will always be the best of us.
And we fight on for his example.
He has one of the most badass voices ever
Marr sure knows how to speak with wisdom
Basically "just cuz I'm a Sith doesn't mean I'm an asshole."
Never taught I would ever felt sad for a sith
Marr was an awesome character
So essentially marr was a patriot and a devoted servant of his empire and not a megalomaniac power hungry sith lord
wooo guest appearance by one of my favorite Sith Lords Darth Mekhis
Thank you, means a lot that you do what the community is asking for.
He was pretty much the embodiment of what the Sith could have been as warriors and rulers, unfortunately most of them settle for being petty maniacs'.
@@randomcenturion7264 sith need to stop wasting resources on immortality.
@@CloneScavengerVulpin8389 And superweapons. Immortality and superweapons have always been more trouble than it's worth.
@@randomcenturion7264 especially if someone manages to blow it up.
"it is you who fears death valkorion. i do not...." thats why he is my favorite.
Lol I find it funny his force ghost has his armor, mask and all. Can you imagine Anakin coming back like that 😂
Loved Darth marr , the way they killed him off was soo weak
I think I just found my 2nd favorite Sith of all time!
Who is the first?
+Shadow I was going to ask Alexander Bahn the precise same thing: who is his first favorite Sith Lord of all time?
AWESOME, an honorable Sith.
He is my all time favourite Darth Lord.
Duty said that that is the best thing I've ever heard at the end of TH-cam video God is awesome
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover your channel dude, being a huge Star Wars fan and watching channels like the lore master, the carcasans and the supentous wave. Great video.
Sorry for the spelling mistakes #dyslexic
Marr is one off my favorte sith lords and the fact is the sith who became one with force realy shows how powerful (and bad ass) he was
Love that last part of your video dude. Loved the story too, but I think one of the most epic parts of your video was 7:02
Lana, Marr, and Malgus; the greatest sith of Vitiate's era.
He's one of the underrated badasses from Swtor
BBY? “Before Baby Yoda”
Before Battle of Yavin, but I'm sure you knew that -_-
@@belias360 r/wooooosh
Darth Marr lived as an honorable Sith Lord, and then died as a Jedi.
maybe Marr can help the player, Kera and Scourge find Shan and her followers before it's too late for them, and the emperor returns again
Did anyone else notice that Marr had a Scottish accent?
Darth Marr is probably the one Sith I could think of who defines what a "Sith" is.
I wish this was still canon so bad
I wish we got to see more out of Marr. He was such a badass.
Cool character
This is my first video I saw of this guy and I did not expect 7:02. Wow. Where did that come from.
thanks for your bio on both Darth Jadus & DarthMaris
2:35 I was like barris it sounds.... familiar then i saw him I was like YOU TRAITOR
What armor is your JK wearing at 6:23? Looks really good!
I really like it when Sith get a backbone
Few had spines stronger than Marr. He wasn't afraid of death and even rose above the depravity most Sith fell to.
That character design tho
Its epik
darth marr in a comic book!? since when!? where have i been!?
I’m planning for my Star Wars series to have tie ins with the old republic.
After playing SWTOR so long I nearly cried when they killed off Darth Marr I still refuse to finish the quest on my main I still have Darth Marr as my companion
Easily my favorite character. No one else even comes close to how based Marr is.
Outlander to Force Ghost Marr: "Nothing can hurt you know, all that armor is pointless" 😂 he wanted to see Marr's face
