Ancient Sith lords didn't really fight the Jedi.They fought themselves.That was always the main weakness of the darkside, without an enemy to fight they devour each other.
I would love to see a movie based on the Old Republic era where the main protagonist is a Sith and the main antagonist is a Sith Lord. Build the antagonist like Joker or something like that, make him likeable, relatable. It doesn't matter if he's evil. Joker is evil from a certain point of view, but we still like him. That movie wouldn't need any Jedi at least in a big role. It would center around the Sith and the relationships and rivalry between them. It would be a very dark movie and I would like that. I know it probably never happens during my lifetime but I can always close my eyes and dream about it.

It’s hard to argue with Lucas himself stating Sidious is he most powerful Sith of all time but if I had to choose someone else, it would be Marka Ragnos. Definitely underrated either way.
Valkorian is another contender for most powerful. I’d like to think Palpatine was the most powerful however Valkorian achieved galactic domination and eternal life (even though he was defeated).

The main difference between him and Sidious was that he took a VERY long time to achieve his goals and he often relied on help and massive rituals in order to do so. Comparatively, Palpatine (and Ragnos even moreso) achieved what they did within their own lifetimes and without much at all in the way of help.

Freedon Nadd also implies that Naga Sadow feared Marka Ragnos and created the Sith Wyrm to kill whoever Ragnos sent to Yavin.

It was said the era of Marka Ragnos's rule was dubbed "The Golden Age of the Sith." Also, it should be noted that Ragnos was a half-breed Sith lord. Half human, half Sith Pureblood. Darth Traya from Knights of the Old Republic 2 referred to him as the great half breed when you approached his tomb.

The Only Two Sith Greater were Tulak Hord and Great Galactic War-era Vitiate. Hord was said to be as powerful with the Force as with the Blade, and Vitiate simply had more skill with the Dark Side Consumption after a Millennium.

If you ask me, I think the feats of the old sith are blown out of proportion, the Sith seem to look back and worship those individuals as gods without really knowing what they were capable of, I think the stories of the Sith leaders was blown up in order to set an example of what a Sith "could be" and the accolades which could of been false, were probably enforced by the leader and their followers to ward off challengers for fear of destruction, as the only real way to ward off challengers for Sith is to make yourself seem unbeatable, because many times that's how Sith got positions of power, by killing other Sith.

This should be the beginning of a "New" Old Republic stand alone or trilogy series of movies. High Republic is a nice touch to continue the Star Wars lore, but we all would have like the aforementioned movie to be greenlit.

Marka Ragos is more powerful than Darth Sidious. Sidious should not have been able to return in the disney trilogy because Darth Sidious is Human not a Hybrid like Marka Ragnos. Marka Ragnos has Sith blood in his veins he is 50% Sith - 50% Human Hybrid. Darth Sidious however has no sith blood he is 100% Human.

No. The rule of 2 allowed them to become stronger after they had declined tremendously following the ancient sith golden age . The ancient sith lords precede that decline and lived during the golden age. The rule of two was supposed to help the sith get back to their golden age. They never did. Tulak horde or marka ragnos would annihilate Vader. Vader was never capable of most of what they could do. Ancient sith lords could survive death, raise the dead, destroy entire fleets....etc. the list of things they could do and vader could not goes on and on

Vader would ragdoll the ancient sith lords. The fact that he was the chosen one and the fact that the rule of 2 made the Darkside stronger. Like bane said to many Darksiders dilute the power of the force. Therefore only 2 must there be, one to concentrate the entire Darkside into him and the other to crave the power.
No. The rule of 2 allowed them to become stronger after they had declined tremendously following the ancient sith golden age . The ancient sith lords precede that decline and lived during the golden age. The rule of two was supposed to help the sith get back to their golden age. They never did. Tulak horde or marka ragnos would annihilate Vader. Vader was never capable of most of what they could do. Ancient sith lords could survive death, raise the dead, destroy entire fleets....etc. the list of things they could do and vader could not goes on and on
