Soon enough we'll be able to go into our bedroom, sit down at a desk, put our VR headset on and have a computer virtually in front of us. All without going and buying one.
It's great to see more people using it for actual work at home situations. I'm noticing much more people in the public rooms on the 'Immersed' app compared to when they first launched on the Quest. Good things are coming :D Thanks for your comment!
I've spoken with one of the main devs for the app and he told me before I tried out this feature that you need to actually physically interact with your device, which really isn't a huge deal since you can activate your passthrough to see the real world whenever you want. When trying this new feature I was able to manipulate the placement and size of the virtual phone overlay so that it matched with the position of my device in the "real world" which worked pretty well but is kind of a pain to do. Thanks for your comment! lmk if you have any more questions
Hey, I've been binge watching all of your vr office videos 😊 what headset would you recommend for editing videos on?? (Least frame drop, best resolution, & clearest colours)
For me, honestly I'm going to recommend the Quest 2 out the gate mainly because there is just so many options in terms of "work type" software to use on the oculus store right now it's nuts lol frame rate never bothered me, everything runs at 90hz and resolution is right where it needs to be. How clear, comfortable things will be is highly dependent on the app you choose (Virtual Desktop, Immersed, etc. )to work in in my opinion. Think Imma experiment with video editing in Horizon Workrooms soon. Happy VRing!
As long as your headset and computer are using the same wifi connection you are good to go 👍 No high end gaming computer required. Thanks for the comment!
I tried Immersed VR and it was horrible. Handtracking doesn't work half the time, the display lags and/or freezes, the whiteboard doesn't capture my handwriting properly, the gestures are a hit or miss, etc all problems that overall makes the app unusable for productivity. The technology just isn't there yet. That said, I am excited with what the future holds for VR. It's so horrible that it can only get better from here.
Never tried out the whiteboard but I find everything else to be a very satisfying experience. Are you sitting in a dimly lit room? Just find it strange because I don't really have the same issues you do. You should check out "WorkRooms" the app released by facebook. It looks very promising from what I've seen so far. Thanks for the comment!
Hi! Is there some delay between keyboard and immersed/Quest2? I'm really thinking in buying one for me as a programmer. But I want to be sure there is no major inconvenient.
I've never experienced any sort of 'delay' and you shouldn't if you are just using your laptop or computer connected keyboard. I've also never experienced any delay using my bluetooth keyboard directly connected to my headset. Thanks for the comment! Happy VRing
Wondering the same, was hoping this video would help but it didn't show how. Was digging through all the settings tabs and couldn't find anything about a phone. There's also literally zero video tutorials on how to do it.
Unfortunately, this video is still very misleading. You can view your phone only, but you must interact with it in real life to use the touch screen. This is at best a nice way to monitor your phone in VR. You can answer a call if you have automatic pickup enabled and it will use your headset mic. Otherwise, you will have to use passthrough to view your phone and hit the answer button. A shame. I would be willing to pay for an app that seamlessly uses my Iphone in VR. Considering this technology why can't we get this?

I already did it
@@TheShinorochi how?
you could do that with shadow pc, just need a good wifi connection
maybe connect a mouse and keyboard to the headset via Bluetooth
Uh well you should probably check your updates
You will be able to have a bathroom i vr lol
Amazing video! Vr productivity keeps getting better and better, and I'm so excited about it!

i seriusly wish oculus would make phone usage native, that would be insainly usefull
So you cant interact with the phone? But it shows the user interacting with it in the video?

Phones are about to become absolute. I knew could emulate screens but I never thought about emulating an actual phone screen or tablet.
Man I didn’t even know about the phone feature as soon as oculus 3 comes out am getting one
@@MrHermangv same, I know after that apple event we getting some crazy features coming to quest

question: Can I control my virtual iphone with my virtual hands like in the promo video? I can not get it working!!
bro your a legend ive been tryna play sky children forever but i hate playing games on that tiny screen

What’s the name of the app you need to put your IPhone into VR
mine isn't letting me adjust windows with gestures I keep having to use the controller
Did you need a high end computer for this? Or is this office like workspace all within Quest?

The phone screen would be perfect if it also did phone tracking. So your virtual phone would be where your real phone is.
Where do u link your phone ? I have the app but can’t find it in Vr …do I need a stand

@@STATEOFVR Amazing! Thanks. I finally decided to buy a Quest 2 and will arrive next week!!
Does this require steamVR, or does it work on standalone quest 2?

Is android currently supported?
