You might be referring to some death warps. In Odyssey, it’s possible to select a random outfit that changes every time you die. Optimally, you’ll die in the places the BTT dies and respawn wearing the next required outfit.
2 years ago I would never have imagined a category this long getting a BTT video made, let alone in such full detail. imahumanandimagamer is truly built different. -Sado
It’s a weird game mechanic where we land on the tiny piece of ground underneath the flower to reset our cap throw for the next section. Very strange and inconsistent but that segment is not spliced, we just get an extra cap bounce from landing on the ground when we do that ground pound.
I can't express how impressive this is as well as the effort this must have taken, it truly deserves immense amounts of recognitions for all of their hard work
Dumb question, what do you think is the longest individual segment (Excluding TAS)? I think your two minute 1:39:29 segment is a strong contender. I can’t imagine the amount of effort finding/recording/compiling all these segments were! I like coming back to this video every so often, it’s damn good.
@@typhlosion_the_volcano_pokemon That’s probably the longest segment, but you can check on the BTT sheet linked in the description. I don’t know if off of the top of my head

Major respect for all the runners and the editors for managing to put this together. Some of the things look very impressive there! Question: would "Spliced community run" be a more accurate title?
@@artman40 It certainly would, but some moons do require one-player mode to collect. Current two-player speedrun rules do not allow swapping from two-player mode. This and a lack of interest are the main reason there’s no two-player category for the speedrun, but if interest grows, I’m sure the leaderboard mods would make an exception to the current rule to allow two-player runs to be completed with the use of one-player mode.
some questions: how does the Snow painting in Mushroom kingdom lead to Seaside at 5:31:11 ? I know that paintings can change in some cases like when you go to the kingdom early (such as star% where you get to Lake early and the Sand kingdom painting there changes to Luncheon one), but I wonder if this is a similar case because I don't think it is In some challenges (like the snow kingdom walking challenge at 3:34:46), despite being two repeated task, why are the two different segments used? not important one, but is the jumps and capthrows count to exact 10k and 5k before talking to toadette? I think they do but not sure just from watching the video
@@Cs-vs7qk Some answers! You’re correct, that’s just an issue with the way the painting chain was set up for the person who got that segment. Going to Seaside first leads from Mushroom -> Seaside, and going to Snow first leads from Mushroom -> Snow. Since we chose Seaside first in this run, we used the load time for the painting travel from Mushroom -> Seaside and used the fastest clip from Mushroom -> enter paining. It just so happened that that fastest clip unfortunately entered the Snow painting. For tracewalking, we need to make sure that the clips score high enough to satisfy the 80 and 90 point requirements. The first tracewalking segment can be faster than the second and get between 80-89 points, and we would not be able to use that same clip for the second segment. Note that there is a splice after the tracewalking goal is reached, so the actual points are not shown - we should probably include a verification of score for the next BTT. The cap throws and jumps are tracked precisely in the BTT sheet, so the jump and cap throw farms are exact to the best of our ability. Feel free to check out the links in the description and join the BTT discord for more info on that stuff because the ways it’s tracked and how we adjust segments that have more cap throws to be considered faster are pretty cool.

Hariet’s boss trigger extends where the skip would normally happen for some reason, so we can’t do the usual dark side skips we do for the other bosses.

We could be off by a few jumps and cap throws, but I’m confident in human’s efforts in counting for this video as well as everyone else’s efforts in counting the jumps, cap throws, and coins in every segment while timing them. The number of jumps and cap throws is factored into the timing of each segment, so we take great care to ensure that it’s accurately counted. As far as I know, the TAS’d jump segment goes slightly over the requirement in case of miscounting.

hi, this video is an amazing video, but in snow 2, for the moon behind snowy mountain, is it possible for you to do a triple jump moon clip to save some time?
Other segments with more cap throws and jumps can be faster specifically for all moons. The KFR timer also stops during capture animations, so in real time, capturing an enemy might be slower than just doing movement around the enemy.
@@BittenFrostbite Not quite true! The primary difference beyond a higher emphasis on coin grinding is that 100% requires all outfits, stickers, and souvenirs in the game, which is the reason coin grind is required.
