    Stylizing almost always looks better than a realistic approach of the same skill level. Well done. Those minis are gorgeous.

    Monochrome + red will forever be a great look. These guys are no exception. Well done!
    Makes me want to do something similar; wonder how it would look on a Chaos Knight.

    • @LenricsRealm

      Thank you very much! A chaos knight with this color scheme would be pretty dope I think. I can imagine the chaos smbols being red or sth like that.

    Well done. Sometimes, less flashy is more flashy. I had a Skaven Skryre army in greyscale with both lime green and red for all things technical and magical. If I was better with OSL, I could have brought that army to a special level. But well, babysteps.

    I love that monochrome look. It's frankly fantastic. The red is a lovely, high contrast pop to draw the eye. You did well. Very well!
    Is it bad that the release of the free warcry rules also had me digging out some ancient 1990s Chaos models to build a Slaves to Darkness warband?
    Your monochrome scheme is... frankly a lovely take on the idea. I think I will have to try something similar. Though I'd likely choose a differing highlight colour given the differing Chaos Gods. But I love it.

    You've just inspired me my friend. I've been looking for a colour scheme to paint the monsters for "Descent Legends of the dark". I'll paint the hero's in a realistic style but for the monsters and such I'm going to try something similar to what you did in this video.

    Very cool! I did something similar with necrons once but instead of black and white with red accents I went for an all over sepia look with bright almost fluoro yellow accents. Mine definitely didn't turn out as striking though!

    • @LenricsRealm
      @LenricsRealm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I’m happy you like it!
      Yeah I first wanted to go with sepia tones instead of the greyscale, but decided against it. In my mind the contrast between the red and the other parts is stronger this way.

    You're a blessing. I wanted to try a tyranid scheme inspired by the evil withing cover, monochrome grey/white and a touch of red and never found a satisfying way to make a good monochrome without air brush. Now I found it.
    Hippity, hoppity, this technic is now my property

    • @LenricsRealm
      @LenricsRealm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 🙏 My first idea was to use use actual metallic paints for the metal parts because I didn’t want to dabble with nmm but it didn’t worked as well tbh. That being said it would probably be interesting to use some kind of nmm approach and instead of using the white for the highlights going with the silver. I really like the idea!

    Not a fan of the artistic shots of the miniatures, but the process of thought is interesting.
    Any style to shake up the usual ‘eavy metal painting “meta” is appreciated.

    • @LenricsRealm
      @LenricsRealm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for your honest feedback and for watching! I also am completely on your side regarding the painting meta. As I said in the video, miniature painting is a creative endeavour. So it shouldn’t be restricted to only one solution.
      I‘m going to experiment with this mindset and definitely going to follow up on this. Already have some ideas in my mind.

  • @YanniCooper

    Very cool video, but i'd suggest that for black and white your choice can really matter. GW's corax for example is probably the worst white I've ever used... Unless of course you meant just to use your favorite colors

    • @LenricsRealm
      @LenricsRealm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that was my intention. If you have a favourite white/black then use that :)

      Well I have to admit I did not realise that this is a christmas track. In germany it’s not part of the typical “christmas rotation”. I chose it because it sounds kinda creepy if don’t have that context. Makes you think about christmas in a different light though 😄

  • @kristophermelin7160
    @kristophermelin7160 ปีที่แล้ว

    Reminds me of the photography effect of black and white, with a single color for contrast. "Realism" shouldn't always be the desired goal - after all, what color are REAL elf warriors? Can anyone provide evidence of ACCURATE demon or orc skin? How do ACTUAL space marine power weapons glow? I think of this as a reminder that these are representations of MAKE BELIEVE - they should be fun and cool- not necessarily believable.

  • @Belzediel

    Um, if you need to use a filter, then what you are using is not super-glue.
    Cyanide describes the form of the molecule.
    Hydrogen cyanide is hydrogen atoms arranged in a cyanide form. In sufficient amounts this is dangerous.
    Potassium cyanide is hydrogen atoms arranged in a cyanide form. In sufficient amounts this is dangerous.
    Cyanoacrylate is acrylic arranged in a cyanide form. In sufficient amounts this is completely harmless.
    Superglue does not release toxic fumes, no matter how much you use. Unless you vaporise it, which is to say, BOIL it, it is 100% perfectly safe. It is, in fact, an almost amazingly inert chemical.
    The smell you get, incidently, is hydrogen. Just hydrogen, not hydrogen cyanide.
    Less than ten seconds were needed to bring that information up on the Googlie.

    • @LenricsRealm
      @LenricsRealm  ปีที่แล้ว

      You‘re absolutely right! It’s the activator that requires wearing a filter. I’m going to address it in my next video! Thanks for clarifying!
