Marco, you are my personal Jesus! This method is a life-and-time-saver! I painted 30 GraveGuard in 3 days using this method and 30 Deathrattles before. Thank you so much!
The BEST painting channel on TH-cam. Not only do the models always look amazing, but Marco teaches us how to use the same techniques in an easy way. Can't wait for the rest of the box.
Hey Marco - I feel like I owe it to you to say thanks for this tutorial. I've watched it a mildly psychotic number of times because I kept putting off starting my Soulblight Gravelords army, but today I finally did the first two skeletons as test models, mostly following your process here, and not only did they come out looking fantastic, it was also a ton of fun to do and... quick by my standards. I tend to be very slow and methodical for a number of reasons, but these two skellies are by FAR the least amount of time I've ever spent on basic troop models and I don't feel one bit like I should've done it slower. I'm all kinds of fired up to do the rest of the unit and really sink my teeth into this army project now. Grazie mille!!
I just bought CurSED city (lol love your accent), but I wanna cry now, 13 models, 4 hours!!!! You confuse me though. Your oil painting videos (which I love, being a 60 year old who as a kid painted 54mm Historex and Airfix Napoleonic figures with oils, badly) claim to be the way for speed with super results but then you still paint with acrylics. Surely those capes scream to be painted with oils? Oh how I wish I could get the results with oils but I end up with mud! Thanks for your videos. Slainté
And let's be honest, it was already pretty awesome before the final highlights. He could have walked away at 2 hours with a better-than-tabletop force at @ 9 minutes per mini.
This is the product of a professional artist who understands color theory like we understand breathing, knows his tools like his own heartbeat, and has taken a process developed in a much more complex environment and brought it down to a miniature level. This is like watching Da Vinci get bored and craft with match sticks.
I'm just back into painting after dropping the hobby 10 years ago, and what the heck, I've never seen painting like this. Inspiring me to find the art of painting! Thank you!
sir ive learned more tricks to paint FASTER and BETTER at the same time on your channel than anywhere else ive found, you're a scholar and a saint, thank you so much for helping me make progress on my shelf of shame!
You applied your artistry of painting to video making. How to make a video discussion simple easy things that have been covered many times. And to do it in a way that shows off your skill while also encouraging less skilled / experienced painters. Great job!
I almost can't believe how good this result is and the time. Those armour colour mixes are amazing too. Doesn't hurt that he's painting arguably the best skeleton warrior minis ever created.
Really like those last speed painting videos, they are close to what people are actually doing in the hobby: getting things ready and beautifull at the same time. Thanks for this top-tier quality video.
I stopped painting minis about 9 months ago. Been doing 1/35 scale armor. Preordered this set cause it looks great and the game looks fun. This has really inspired me to paint it. Thanks Marco. You are a true creative artist.
Always something new and innovative to learn in your videos. I might not end up using it a lot but that "metallic contrast paint on a zenithal prime" idea is genius!
no matter how hard u try with oils, there is no direct correlation between happy endings and oil painting. not even if you try painting in a random gas station on the New Jersey turnpike.
Another wonderful tutorial showing how you can paint your vampire counts army. Your combination of time efficiency and quality painting is very inspiring. Can't wait to learn from your airbrush tutorials.
What kind of black magic is this. All this beautiful models in 4h ? I couldn’t do one of them in 4h in this quality :-) Always a pleasure to watch and listen to you. Thanks for sharing
Amazing, absolutely amazing, in 4 hours a level of results beyond what i can do in months! The metallic paint recipe is freaking brilliant and i'll definitely use it!
Ok we know the paintjob is amazing. But what I appreciate is the explanations and why you are doing what you do as I find this helps me learn more about how to improve other painting as I might not be trying to copy your work exactly
You have the most relaxing voice I've ever known - I've nodded off at least three times during because you're so relaxing and calming! Fantastic work on the models chief!
Great timing, as I am working on Cursed City right now. Your videos have really changed the way I approach painting. I'm pretty sure I now own as many inks and oils as "traditional" mini wargaming acrylics.
Man, I found your channel not long ago and have been totally hooked until I reached this last video! Your channel has everything I was looking for: - outstanding and inspiring painting - truly educational content for painters of all levels - tons of passion and communicative energy!!! Keep it up!
Thank you!!, you are without any doubt the reason I started painting again, I am SOO going to try this on some of my models. I got a Million woodelves to get thru (tips are more then welcome :) )
Regardless of the speed this paint style you chose better represents the feel of the game art than any other I have seen, It reminds me of stylised films like Sin City or 300, absolutely love your work.
Marco, champion of the painting gods. There are some oil paints down in the basement, white spirit also. I'll grab an airbrush as soon as I can and then I'll try out la dolce vita frisoni style.
As always I'm blown away by the quality of your paintjobs. Really well done! But the really interesting bit is the short timespan it takes you to get it done. It's quite amazing the quality you manage to get done so quickly in every video, and I'm just looking forward to more and more of your videos man!
Great video. Love how you show using various techniques to create great-looking models in a clear instructional tone! Love that metallic armor recipe. I still need to experiment with the oil paints, your videos have really made me consider the possibilities of using them.
These skeletons are ready to bring terror to the adventurers!!! Super high-quality and fast painting🙌 Saved for the content, I would rather have more videos on the cursed city ✊ ✊ ✊
The airbrush just speed the work! Everything it can do can be easily done with the brush (or a spray can), but not the contrary; it depends mostly on if you need the extra speed
Great looking scheme and spot on execution as always Marco, thank you. There is a very real chance i will be stealing this scheme for my Gravelords army
I think your metallic contrast recipe is safe Marco. GW will just suggest going with a metallic base coat and then just slathering on some contrast paint over it.
People say it takes them ages but it's because they fuss over minor problems, not because they aren't good painters which is what they usually suggest they believe.
Il livello di abilità di Marco è talmente alto che mi sta passando la voglia di dipingere. Ovviamente scherzo! Continua così e vogliamo tonnellate di tutorial!

Have you seen Dr Faust's painting clinic?
@@michaelsorensen7567 Yes. Marco blows his stuff out of the water.
@@omnivision616 agree to disagree lol
Ive said it before and I'll say it again - you are THE number 1 mini patinter and teacher on TH-cam 😁😁😁😁😁
I couldn't agree more. Marco's channel allowed me to pull the trigger to get back into the hobby after 15 years.

Dude, you HAVE to paint the entire cursed city here on the channel!
would watch all of it for sure.
24 hour time limit in total working time and I doubt he'd even break a sweat... he makes this look so effortless!
if he get a box that is
@@ROffan seems pretty clear that he did, since he is already painting them?
@@TundraGheist yeah that was a weird comment for Rolf to make haha.

he engineered the painting process

You were sure correct about paint companies selling color tinted metallic paints, Speed Paints and Contrast. Well done Marco!
Hahaha it was only a matter of time! I'm surprised it took them so long 😅
Marco... you painted RED... And you painted about SPEED and QUALITY!!! - Man that MUST BE WH40K ORCS!
I watch. I learn. I sit open mouthed !!!!! Marco... absolutely wonderful stuff.
I almost can't believe how good this result is and the time. Those armour colour mixes are amazing too. Doesn't hurt that he's painting arguably the best skeleton warrior minis ever created.
Probably the most beautiful painting I have ever seen.
Seriously Marco, we absolutely need the entire Cursed City! The models are so gorgeous, bring them to life!

Marco: that's cute.
Thanks to you and other "youtubers" I've fallen in love with oil paints! Thanks, Marco!

I wish your videos were longer - I love them, and would appreciate seeing them in more detail at a slower pace. Good work!
Insane standard in that time. Hat off to you.

Jaysus that metallic contrast paint recipe is a stroke of genius. Great video!
love your colour scheme on those models...
The way you created the shadow with the white inspired me. In hindsight, I wish I had done that with several of my models.
Man i cant get enough of this guy. He is beyond a legend
This speed painting looks better than any not-that-fast painting that I see.
I love watching you paint, your skill and knowledge is impressive! I've learned so much from your videos.
Most amazing speed painter I’ve ever seen. Astounding! 👏
Beautiful, looking forward to the rest of the box-set! 😍
