The best video on brakes I've seen - even mentions the correct slider pin Toyota rubber grease with part number - I spent ages trying to find it and Toyota spares couldn't help!
Coming back to say that I've been watching a lot of brakes videos, in particular Honda Crv, but this video is by far and away the best video I've found. The production quality, the pacing of information delivery, the cleanliness of the information... they are all excellent. If you are just starting out with this channel, I wholeheartedly recommend keeping it up, and keeping it at this level of production quality. I think preeminence, or something close, is within your reach. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
This video covers everything to OEM requirements. By far the most comprehensive and complete review of the proper methodology to follow changing brakes. I am a Chemical Engineer and work at an OEM assembly facility. I could not find a single fault in this video. The author summarized the proper method detailed in virtually every OEM service manual. Covered everything down to proper lubricants and torque specs. The road test was even included. I would add bleeding brakes for old cars to ensure the fluid is clean. But that is not required since he noted to break the bleeder screw(that should be done correctly to avoid air entering then system). Excellent job mate!!
i recommend opening the bleed valve WHILE pressing the brake piston. this expels some crud that may have collected at this part of the fluid line. then add new fluid into the reservoir. this was a recommendation from my brake specialist teacher.
Bravo, great video. Quite frankly, your video provided better visual demonstration and step by step explanation of 99% of the brake job videos that I have seen. Great job!
Best brake video ive seen. All the other brake changing videos the guys just say dont let the brake reservoir overfill but they dont tell u what to do when it overfills
Been a while since I did my own brakes, however just did my '06 Murano. Watched several different video's, and of course say this one after I was done. Very nice, no obnoxious music, referenced toque spec's and proper lubes per Manf., wait, what!!! No one else seems to do that, just torque it down until if feels right, and then a bit more.... Just a couple of possible points if I might. I used anti-sieze on every bolt (wheel, caliper, and bracket). In addition to lubing those caliper pins, you may need to check inside the bracket holes to make sure there isn't more contaminated/old grease. I was advised not to put any lube on the back of the brake pad, but did put some Sil-Glydeon the pad ends that slide on the brake pad hardware. I'll know shortly if I listened to the wrong person. Keep of the great work.
What are your feelings on Burning-in, burnishing, breaking-in new pads. The 5-10 quick stops from 60mph to 10? I am going to be replacing pads on my Vette. I am concerned with glazing the pads and causing a squeal. FYI: your videos are great! Content, instructions, materials, and talking speed. Keep them coming please.
Great my friend, thx a lot, you are great, the tempo of filming and talking is slightly too fast, what needed rewinding.good tips , realise that what is obvious for you, can be new for a diyer😅, so slow down the pace and show the details relaxed. That would be even more perfect, great the absence of music, love from Belgium
I shouldn't need to say this for obvious reasons but some people on here isn't the brightest pickle in the jar. Whatever torque spec you saw is for the vehicle in the video, please follow your FSM specs for your own car.

I agree 👍
This video is , for lack of a better word, perfect.
perfect comment mate,,
except that it gives torque value, which some might assume are universal, when in fact they are different for every car.
This video made my day, and makes me believe in humanity again.

Totally agreed. Don't know why everyone misses this important step. To many cowboys on TH-cam now. This guy not bad though!
Bravo, great video. Quite frankly, your video provided better visual demonstration and step by step explanation of 99% of the brake job videos that I have seen. Great job!
Must be one of the best and most informative video's on "how to do your brakes" that there is and I have seen quite a lot in my time. Well done.
Best brake video ive seen. All the other brake changing videos the guys just say dont let the brake reservoir overfill but they dont tell u what to do when it overfills
Damn, I don't even know that grease should be applied on the new brake pads!
Really opened my eyes, thanks!

This has to be among the greatest channels on TH-cam. Fantastic content.

Outstanding videography and content. One of the best on TH-cam.
I just discovered this channel and the vids are quite good.
Best ever video man...many thanks. Can you get steering wheel shake with a sticking caliper because of bad guide pins or hose ?

When you break in the new pads, do few gentle slow downs without locking the wheels or having abs kicked in, So won't glaze the pads or make a squeal.
Really like the way you made this video. Very informative. Thanks!
How did this video received 7 unlikes??? Really??? Oh yes! The answer is envy. Great video btw. Thanks a lot man. Keep doing this great job ;)

Thanks for these videos, appreciate it! What did you use to clean the caliber piston, at 8:26? Thanks again!
it was just a microfiber towel and some water.
Cool, thanks!

How do you measure how tight the bolts should be?
I shouldn't need to say this for obvious reasons but some people on here isn't the brightest pickle in the jar.
Whatever torque spec you saw is for the vehicle in the video, please follow your FSM specs for your own car.
Thank you for the information.

Are you a physicist?
2:59 won't work :P There will be a lip on the rotor that you will be measuring instead. Use a micrometer if you really want.
Brake rotor calipers have pointy tips on the jaws so the jaws not touching any lips.
Well I learned something then :P Never seen one like that.
2:12 FROM 6 MM TO 4MM NOT 3MM LOL
Too many steps - just gonna pay my mechanic. :(
