I was on a ferry from Pattaya to Koh larn when the boat stopped dead in the water half way. When I first got on everyone were putting on life jackets and I scoffed at that. Well when that ferry went dead I sure as heck grabbed one 😆 They brought another boat alongside with a plank gangway between and we went onto the other boat....took about an hour for all this to transpire.

When she said that you can meet my son, that would been a deal breaker right there for me. I'm not coming to Thailand to date single mothers.
I would have pulled her on it and stated to her that I found it strange and asked her straight what her thought process was to introduce a guy she doesn't really know to her 9 year old son 🤔 and then I would have swiftly ended the date as fast as possible without making her feel awkward and then go our separate ways 🤷
I have met a few decent girls that have told me they support a child back home, in fact it is almost the norm. However to meet the 'little one(s?) some soon is very rare ! Have met the little's ones a few times, usually at a big party or a temple type event. Takes time for them to talk about their young 'uns. Strange!
Because Chris was so pleasant and nice and didn't drink then I am presuming she just thought I'll bring my son so he can have a free lunch also 🤷

Yeah that's what I thought, it was very frightening to me that Chris didn't seem to see this and all my hard work has been for nothing as he is currently dating someone in Pattaya right now 🤦 he thinks she's ok so I'm just keeping my mouth closed now
Last month I picked up a bar girl in Chiang Mai, and we spent the next 18 days together. The first four days I took her to the restaurants I usually went to, but on the fifth day she said she wanted to go where she usually eats. She led me to a temple where a bowl of noodles was 20 baht. The place was full of workaday Thais on their lunch hour. When we got the noodles, the girl added some spices to my bowl, and tested to see if was okay for me. After that, we ate every dinner at Chiang Mai market, and the most I paid for the two of us was 110 Baht. I really miss that girl.

The thing is that these guys go to Thailand, and they tried to date way above their looks level, meaning way out of their league. And they end up having an unpleasant experience with that woman. So try to stay in your lane! Meaning try to date only women that are truly attracted to you! Then you have a better experience.

out of their league, how do figure, looks don't make a person, better looking she is she may attract more guys, but that doesnt make her a good catch, and if the experience is unpleasant doesnt say much about her and why she is with you..i hear so many use that big age difference etc to explain why relationship go bad,,the age or appearance has nothing to do with it, that all fades away in time anyway, attraction depends on the person, i find even sexy ladies here, turn off soon as they speak

As a younger guy, I tend to take girls to the billions of cafes in BKK. They’re usually really instagram worthy and girls love them. That’s always my first date go to. It allows for conversation, it’s typically quiet, and it certainly won’t cost 30 quid! Lol
He's had way more dates than me 🙈 but he's just had bad experiences etc ... Coffee shop dates are the best ways doesn't cost much money and you have not other choice but to communicate and interact with each other 👍

Top advice Dan , i think some people get confused with things like how generous to be with women over in thailand because of the coulture diffrences , but if they act like there rich on a first date they will be taken advantage of in the long run

Hi Dan, unfortunately common sense is not that common. Another great video. Chris should have brought you to pattaya with him, he could do with you as a wingman😀. Seriously though, you are saving people alot of hardship with your advice. Some poor people have been financially ruined because they were native in Thailand and in the worst cases have ended up throwing themselves off balconies after they lost everything!
Exactly right Jay, they get so depressed 😔 and it happens all to often especially when they are a lot older, they have sold all their possessions from back home and then spent all their money here and then lose it all and then they feel like they can't go on... and want to end it all 😔 it's extremely sad, I have read about so many stories and it's why I talk about the subject of women, dating, being careful a lot here due to the vast amount of sad stories I have heard 🙏
Some things to look for / beware of in addition to what Dan indicated. Your spider senses should be tingling if you meet a girl with these characteristics.
1) Tattoos - Normal Thai girls will not have them. If you see them, it is probably someone with a connection to the entertainment industry.
2) Good English - The question being how did her English become good? It is not generally the case in Thailand that people speak English well. She could be well educated (which will show and she can tell you all about) or she could have spent a lot of time in bars with foreigners.
3) Dress style - If she dresses in a revealing manner on a date or has bikini shots or other sexy poses on her online profile, it is probably not just a normal girl.
4) Online profile signals - If her specifications are set to age from...to ANY, then be suspicious. If the LINE ID is given on the TF profile, that's another one.
5) Checks: Go the website TFMI (dot) com and copy her TF profile name into the search box. If it returns a result you recognize, you know what you are dealing with.
6) TF tricks: Set up another TF account with your location the same as hers (not abroad). If you are really into a girl and think she is for real, use the other profile to send her a message like "Today night ST can do? 1500 baht Ok?", If you get any answer from her negotiating or agreeing, then you know what you need to know.
7) Meeting place - If you meet a girl in a bar or nightclub in Thailand, there is a 95% chance she is a freelancer or works there. If you meet on an online App there is still a high chance. The best way to meet girls is through professional contact. For example, she works in the bank where you opened an account or as a dental receptionist in the dentist you use. If you have the inclination, studying in a Thai university can also expose you to a lot of normal, middle class Thai women. Normally, It will take substantial effort to get one of these girls to go out with you - especially in BKK. If it is too easy, wonder why.
8) Pattaya: If the girl lives, has lived or worked in the city, then it is probably a bad indication. Avoid for anything other than a liaison.

Very good comments!~ I agree but must say--in all my years here in Thailand , as to regards 'Dress style' I have never seen so many of the 'normal girls' wearing such close fitting, skimpy style clothing! Showing bare shoulders, tight pants/ jeans ! Wow! They have changed for sure! I am surprised at what I see some times! When I lived in Phuket some 35 years ago the normal you would see was an oversized T shirt or long sleeved shirt that went to about the knees and long pants / shorts! TRUE!

Some people will say I have no sympathy for them they are in their fifties or sixties so they should have more about them, this isn’t always the case a lot of these guys have probably been married for thirty to forty years and been out of the dating game for years. Some will of been divorced or sadly lost their partner and are not use to being alone and are just looking for someone to fill that void, no matter what country your in some women are just out there for one thing and that’s themselves. Having a woman approach you to ask you out some will say this is a red flag straight away it’s a man’s job, that’s not the case my wife approached me first and we’ve been happily married for twenty five years. The only advice I would give anyone is don’t be too open with your wallet always let them share some of the expenses, if a woman is prepared to stick her hands in her pocket you are on to a good start. Watch what they do when your going past shops are they more into the shop or you, phones are another give away see how many times they interact with their phones when they are with you if they are really interested in you they shouldn’t even be on their phones. Clothes are another give away if they dress way above their pay grade it’s not their first time like the spider said to the fly😂, these are just a few things I would look out for and it has been a long time now since I was dating but I always set some ground rules and stick to them. Some good advice again Dan but sadly you can’t always teach a old dog knew tricks.
Yes, I would agree with your comment but some, like Chris has admittedly been to oattaya over a dozen times in like 4 years. He knows the score but like many the get caught up in the fantasy unrealistic world of pattaya and think the rest of Thai woman are like that. I used to travel with a guy many many years ago who once told me every girl in pattaya is for sale. I argued with him and demonstrated that isn't the case but that was his demented outlook.
Hi Dean, some people come to Thailand with mental problems, Alzheimer's, disabilities, schizophrenia, severe bipolar disorder, social anxiety disorder.... The list is literally endless... I am personally very aware of a lot of the issues that people could have but some people don't look that deep, they see it as.... He is 50 or 60 he should know better... He should be like the man off the worthers original advert.... For example... But unfortunately that is not the case, in terms of Chris he has had a lot of previous dates and been to Thailand more than 10 times in just 4 years 😯 but he still can't seem to differentiate between western and Thai and also understand the similarities 🤷 I feel like he gets lots in the moment and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt and is very trusting
I agree with you Dan on what you said. If the girls want real relationship with a forienger, she will chat and find out about the guy information to make sure he is not lying and a good guy. For example: I and hubby used to chat and exchange information before we met. I would find out if what he told me true or not. I will asked him again and again later. If he lied the story won't be the same. I looked at the timeline and photos of his family. To make sure he is 100 percent to our relationship. I finally asked him to bring his mum and dad to our engagement. And he did! After that my concern was released and I am trusting him from day on. It's funny that people looking for love in Thailand are doing the opposite. Foreigner has to look out for the girl and make sure she is legitimate.

I'm not the best person to answer this, I remember over a year ago I went with AIS and paid just under 1000 Baht per month for an unlimited data service
I have AIS. Got it at the airport when I arrived. It's, I believe, 800 or 900 baht for a month of unlimited 4G data (and also calls I think). For 1500 baht or so you can get 5G.

Dan I think you should make a video called "Danger of a dating/marrying to a Thai Bargirl" I say this because after many months of looking at videos, most of the videos I observed very carefully were about foreign men who married to a Thai "bargirl" One day I was browsing the subreddit groups "Support for the Accused" and I happen to read a story about this unfortunate guy who was married to a Thai bargirl and who was in the process of a divorce, apparently, this bargirl lashed out immensely at him with false stories, she even got the authorities to lock him up. I know people will always say negative things about American women, but bringing a woman from a developed nation and she treats you like crap definitely will make you lift your eyebrows.

Reasons for foreigners not finding the good ones is because they are locked behind the language barrier. Many women learn english to find a foreigner who gets her out of poverty, because they saw that others having luck with this. I just made the experience that it is not good to look for women who are expecially looking for foreigners. But yeah learning Thai is mandatory this way. No pain no gain as they say it seems...
I totally understand where you are coming from Frank and you are right, it's a massive help if you understand the language but some people have really tried to learn the language and really struggled with it, I have spoken to a few foreigners and they just say it's too hard 🤷
@@thaitalkwithdan I know I am also struggling (trying and giving up several times), but the impact is so massive. That's why I am commenting here. It opens the door to the real Thailand and this is completely different from the tourist areas. You will meet much more decent people. Women with decent jobs, who might earn even more money than oneself do and so on. Whenever I am in Thailand I am everywhere with Thai people not understanding anything and it sucks. But this way I never met people asking me for money, they inviting me, showing me Thailand, the culture everything.
Frank you are correct, if your Thai improves then you will start to really understand Thai people better, they will open up more to you and your circle of Thai friends will grow much wider, it's a refreshing experience to be able to travel anywhere in Thailand and have no problems communicating, meeting new people and creating new friendships so it is a massive plus, the Thai language can be so difficult for people including myself, I can't do the Tones and a lot of words I say people can't understand, I really need to go to classes for the tones and I have tried so hard but my mouth just won't make the sounds 🤣🤣🤣 but to be honest I do prefer not to talk much for several reasons and just prefer to listen, so it is a nice feeling to know what people are talking about when I am sat around Thai people 👌 and If I want to join in I know what I can say to ensure others understand me but I am sure I sound very silly but at least they can understand me 😁
I totally agree. I learned Thai, and it opens up Thailand. Not only girls but Thai people in general will treat you differently, and you will meet different ladies and different people. It gives you respect and it shows respect...

My maths may be wrong but I thought Chris said he was on about a month holiday and in barely 2 weeks he had 5 dates? Throw yourself at every woman who responds to your dating site is asking for trouble. Particularly if, as he said, he was looking for something more serious. Careful Dan, you are starting to sound a little bit like the whiny farangs 🤣. I know you are trying to help though. Western myth of romance is a lot different than here and dating is a lot different. I think genuinely there is a more practical component to dating here, rather than all out love and romance. Makes sense as the family structures are very different too . Many Thai women in tourist areas certainly know how to give that girlfriend romance experience, and that's what traps foreign men.
