Please understand that most of good Thai ladies do not working in bar and night club. There are abundance of good women in Thailand, as the Western guys expect. However, you need to look in the right place at the right time. First, you have to understand the culture differences. Unlike the west, Don't attempt to look for a good lady in the night life. There are few good women there. The best way to know good Thai women is at the night market when the ladies are looking for their good dinner and shopping. Those ladies are educated with good jobs. Since the dawn of time, marriage was about bringing resources together and partnership, NOT LOVE. If not, why do the wealthy tend to marry the wealthy? Why do families with money forbid their daughters to marry the bad boy with no money or education? Even though we've destroyed the family in the west, women still tend to marry up, never down. Previous to the individual freedom of the 20th century, many if not most marriages were arranged. Going to a less developed, "old world" country looking for marriage based on love is foolish. In the 90's (different times than now) I was in my 20's and used to travel frequently to Thailand for work reasons. Thai girls were always surprisingly amazing in all senses, for a foreigner. A friend of mine even got a girlfriend who gave him the keys of her home when he traveled there, so he didn't have to stay in a hotel, although our company paid for the most luxurious hotels, like The Shangri-La and the Dusit Thani, hotels that served you a Coke in a silver plate with a reverence. That was the level of trust, understanding, and kindness we noticed everywhere since the very first day. This applies to ALL THAILAND, except Pattaya. Pattaya was and is a different thing. My friend ended up marrying her and living together in Spain. Until this date they are a happy beautiful couple and they have always been, loyal o each other, and an example of love and a multi cultural relationship that has lasted almost 30 years.

Nope wrong lesson. Alcohol and wanting to drink regularly is a problem . The last girl to me wanting a more "At home" life style. It never ends well when a guy is in a relationship, but wants to go out drinking regularly. The second lesson is don't rush to get into a relationship. He did that in all three stories.

I think it's more about the men than the Thai women. Most of the people who come to Thailand to find a wife or girlfriend have little experience in relationships with women, or none at all. Even if they don't get ripped off by prostitutes in Thailand, then they most likely fail in a normal relationship with Thai women. The rest throw a lot of money at a relationship and think they are happy, then a few actually have good healthy real relationships, not based on money or prostitution.

Since the dawn of time, marriage was about bringing resources together and partnership, NOT LOVE. If not, why do the wealthy tend to marry the wealthy? Why do families with money forbid their daughters to marry the bad boy with no money or education? Even though we've destroyed the family in the west, women still tend to marry up, never down. Previous to the individual freedom of the 20th century, many if not most marriages were arranged. Going to a less developed, "old world" country looking for marriage based on love is foolish. In the 90's (different times than now) I was in my 20's and used to travel frequently to Thailand for work reasons. Thai girls were always surprisingly amazing in all senses, for a foreigner. A friend of mine even got a girlfriend who gave him the keys of her home when he traveled there, so he didn't have to stay in a hotel, although our company paid for the most luxurious hotels, like The Shangri-La and the Dusit Thani, hotels that served you a Coke in a silver plate with a reverence. That was the level of trust, understanding, and kindness we noticed everywhere since the very first day. This applies to ALL THAILAND, except Pattaya. Pattaya was and is a different thing.
My friend ended up marrying her and living together in Spain. Until this date they are a happy beautiful couple and they have always been, loyal o each other, and an example of love and a multi cultural relationship that has lasted almost 30 years.

So what I got out of this is, no matter where you are at, people have baggage. Different cultures have different consequences.
I think it's more about the men than the Thai women. Most of the people who come to Thailand to find a wife or girlfriend have little experience in relationships with women, or none at all. Even if they don't get ripped off by prostitutes in Thailand, then they most likely fail in a normal relationship with Thai women. The rest throw a lot of money at a relationship and think they are happy, then a few actually have good healthy real relationships, not based on money or prostitution.

Hi Dan, as soon as you mentioned 'Golf caddy' I knew where the story was going! There are some 13 really good golf courses on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand and believe me nearly all of those caddies are acting similarly! Many are school age and college girls! Having had many & various experiences in Thailand, I eventually avoided all tourist areas & found the women had the exact same attitudes as in the West.. waste of time& money- you will be better off looking for a good woman in your own country

Young attractive Thai ladies aim is to juggle a sponsor , work and create new contacts, My understanding is once you say your the boyfriend your expected to pay for support. Boyfriend is very loose very different in the west. ... Lady 3 . sounds like she experienced bad things in past relationships that should not be shaken off , kept scaring her. .... I used to believe in love fixes all , commit no matter what etc but my take nowadays is relationships seem to have an expiry date depending on the combined couples previous issues. We all have baggage with most of it neatly packed away but certain personalities bring out the issues. Im no phycologist and I still get burnt but havent given up. the brain shuts down when you think they "are starting to fall in love with me".....anyway, seems like most of these stories include alcohol, which will ruin nearly everything. don't drink and thailand will be relatively drama free. strange but nearly every girl under 30 I've known in tland is prostituting, including waitresses, desk clerks, etc. they make almost no money, but often travel to korea and japan, the latter being the most expensive in the world.

The second girlfriend (the golf-caddy)...here he had a perfect scenario, a korean businessman paid her 40000 Bhat a month and a place to live. She admitted to it. She paid for those gifts to him because she probably liked him, here he could have the best of both worlds (when the Korean Businessmann is home for the 8 months of the year) he can have fun with her without paying and they can go to the cinema, go for dinner etc., that is a wasted opportunity...learn to play the game.

I think he is making it real hard on himself to make a good relationship work by going to bars all the time to meet up with his friends of course the girl will be jealous. If you wan't to do something with the guys how about a poker night, a golf day, a fishing trip, a hiking trip or a hunting trip theese are all much better things to do with your friends and his girlfriend would not be so jealous after all he met 2 out of 3 of thoose girls in a bar and you can see where she would get jealous.
