  • An update on my ingot silver two tone Lariat F350. I ordered this with the long bed and the exact specs I wanted. I've really enjoyed owning this truck and recommend the Ford superduty. Pleased with the power, comfort and capability. It's been reliable as well.

    Gotta love these trucks. My cousin owns a 2011 F350 Lariat but in a short bed. Black on black with 190k miles. Hasn’t skipped a beat mechanically. He’s put a lot of money into replacing the suspension components that have worn out but solid rig otherwise. It tows a 15 ft enclosed cargo trailer regularly for his work and you never notice it’s there even fully loaded.

      Thanks. I really hate rust and was religious about: fluid film each year, keeping it clean, keeping it waxed. The first thing I do to all new vehicles is buy 4 cans of black tractor paint from Tractor Supply and crawl under them with a creeper and hit the welds, edges, etc. Then Fluid Film. It works great as a strategy...especially in NWPA where we get lots of salt on the roads.

    I know this is an old video but I have heard some stuff about the early 6.7s, more so with the 2011 and 2012s where they have engine issues (sometimes major). Did you address those issues before they became a problem with this truck? Great video by the way, both this and your new truck are so sweet.

    • @ModernCountryLiving
      @ModernCountryLiving  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tyler. Thanks for watching. So, the issues that I had heard of seemed isolated to the 2011 model year and job 1 of 2012. I was in the clear. I had no problems. I had the stock turbo on the truck when I traded it and no problems with it. Now, could you tune the truck, drive like a maniac...and probably puke the turbo? Yes. I have read about that. I ran H&S and was on stock or tow tune 95% of the time. I hope to post some more videos before Christmas of my duraflaps and winter tires on my 2018 model.

    Thinking about buying a 6.7 power stroke.. people are telling me going with the simple gas 6.2 engine due to emission problems with the diesels. From what I’ve been reading and hearing if I were to get it “deleted” I should be good to go.. is that correct? Thanks

    • @ModernCountryLiving
      @ModernCountryLiving  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diesels are going to cost more than gas vehicles to own and maintain. Emissions in early diesels (7-10 years ago) had more issues as the technology was new. Today, the emissions systems are much improved. Sensors can still fail though. I have 18,000 on my 2018 Powerstroke and the emissions has been a non issue. Runs great. No diesel exhaust smell. I add DEF every 7000 miles.
      Deleting is a gamble with both the law and the result in your vehicle.

      @@ModernCountryLiving no problem I’ve been looking for a 2013-2014 powerstroke since that what my budget allows. Is there a big difference between those years? From 2011-2014?

      @@5.0king32 I'd go for the newest one possible. There were some early issues with the 11's. I think Job 2 of the 12's they had made a change to the turbo. I think there are some additional differences with the 13/14s. But, really...all in all...the 6.7 has proven itself as a great platform for FORD. It's a reliable power plant. The emissions items can be a weak link...fuel systems can be a problem if you don't watch the fuel quality. My 2018 model have 40,000 miles. All stock. Great results.

      Yeah, the alignment was fine. It looks off because of the reflection from the chrome and seeing under the hood areas. I have close up pictures of that area...there isn't a gap issue.

      Yeah I actually just did that yesterday 2 states away. On my way home now with the truck on a trailer. Luckily I didn't loose my job 🙃 my friend was trying to start it for a bit so DEF definitely went throughout it all.
