2011 Ford Expedition 120k miles: Rough idol, hesitation, Shaking, knocking & poor acceleration…Change camshaft sensor, change all 8 spark plugs (Never been changed) , put fuel injection cleaner in gas tank…Runs powerfull and idles very smooth now.
Zero labor cost when you do it yourself, If that fixed the problem zero mechanics bill, if not one less thing a mechanic can charge you for. Therein lies an incentive.
Often your vehicles "recommended maintenance interval" is based on ideal driving scenarios. Basically it assumes you are driving your car only in perfect conditions, never in stop start traffic, never in extreme cold or heat and it also assumes the engine has been perfectly maintained. It may say you can make it 100k on a set of plugs but I just pulled mine out at 65k after noticing a stuttering hesitation when pressing the gas and a couple times of the starter cranking for 4 or 5 seconds before starting. Pulled the plugs out and they're caked in black crud and oil on the ends, still working but definitely at the end of their life. They're cheap enough it never hurts to swap them out early.
I dont know man im from europe we change here sparkplugs once a year than the next year no problem with my car its an opel astra 1.4 hatchback also petrol
While trying to start on cell sometimes the digital meter console goes dark and the bike don't start and the pick up is also not responding quickly is it spark plugs issue
Do diesel engiene work same way like petrol ? It need permanent spark fire because i think diesel have iridium spark plugs and just only need one time fire from spark o think
Hi i have vauxhall astra 1.4.my car misfire to start in the morning when ingine is cold some time its starts couple of try but somtimes battery goes dead then i need jump starter to start.is that bcz of plug? And dos OBD shows the issue?
Got 50k miles on mine and it goes from 500 revs to 6500 every time it’s driven, no issue with the plugs themselves but havnt checked them. Do have a weird misfire going up hills thou revs will drop from 2k to 1500 back to 2k back to 1500 aslong as I’m going up the incline then when I’m back on flat road it goes back to normal and won’t do it again until it see’s an incline do you think this is plugs or more a electric throttle body issue ? It’s a gm 3.6 with brand new chains and no codes or cel I’ve had it checked it was doing this before the chain job and continues to do so I’ve just been living with it.
Funny that i came here for my Honda GX35 Grass Cutter Engine that i used as a Means of Transportation, Attached to a Scooter 🛴 LOL i had all these Symptoms

Nah! I've only changed my plugs 1 time in my kia sportage with 315,000 miles on it so far. They will last a long time for sure.

Wait too long is a mistake, better early than late.
I change mine 18 k miles lol racing hard is usually the cause of premature wear on spark plugs
