Very useful video man, our mx5 got oil on sparkplugs, we thought bad piston ring at first but also notice leak around the cover. Your video cleared it up further. Going to change it soon and hopefully sort the issue! Changing a damn piston ring would not be fun!
Being 23, I been a mech7since high school and I'm kinda looking for the next page I guess I can say. Being sorta interested in medical. I like to see you also see mechanics in a medical stand point as well. Much appreciation for the knowledge and time.
You forgot to mention adding an additive to the oil or adding to much oil to the crank case will cause oil to show on the spark plug otherwise great information for new DIYers out there
Bro I literally am having this problem rn thank you so much I was freaking out I just recently bought a 2012 audi a5 about a month ago and have been watching your videos since. I was driving home from work a couple days ago and my car started backfiring like crazy then shaking especially bad over 45 and when I was idling I started to panic cuz I thought it was a serious motor problem. Before that my check engine light would flash a couple times then go away. I didn't know what that meant at the time. Thank God this is a cheap fix I've had to put so much money into this car already (got fucked at the dealership) thanks so much for the videos I only have my muffler straight piped so far I'm going to get a catless downpipe and a cold air intake next then a tune then way down the road a hybrid turbo I'm thinking a out possibly starting a TH-cam channel on the car as well considering I can't barley find any videos on the 2012s I really want this car to last forever one of my dream cars
I bought a 2009 Acura TL two years ago at 175k miles (roughly). It's now 223k miles and I figured it was time to replace them. They look okay. But they look like the engine is running HOT. Besides keeping an eye out on my coolant level, maintenance, etc. is either anything I need to look for? Consider? Be mindful of? Let me know! Great video! Take care and God bless everyone!! -Neil
Why some people say oil will burn and leave and deposits on spark ..can you explain what situation you find a wet plug with oil instead or a plug fouled when oil burns
I'm looking at that perfect plug, and I doubt any DI cars have plugs that look like that anymore. My car has cold plugs with only a few thousand miles and they are orange from race gas, and there is a little gunk at the end from carbon build. I just bought a catch can, but I am considering WMI for colder intake temps and engine cleaning to avoid that carbon building death.
My spark plugs have never been changed(i assume due to the way they looked and they were OEM) by the previous owners on my b8, when the engine was rebuilded at 150.000km for the oil consumption problem i saw that the middle part of the sparkplugs was all shattered and missing pieces of it, the cylinder walls where all scored and scratched because of that, the cylinder walls went to procces of boring and honing and i fitted +0.25mm bigger pistons. Moral of the story, change your spark plugs.

Great vid Bruce! I have a question, so i got FBO stage 2 2.0 a5 etc. on higher gears the car is stuttering... it happened before and i changed the sparks and coil pack and the problem is gone. That was a couple months ago. Now it is happening again! After i pushed hard on the freeway. What do you think is faulty? I read for codes nothing popped up
Spark plug gap needs to be smaller it seems the boost is blowing out the spark when you dig in to it, try that some recommend.024, but I’m at 0.26, and factory is 0.29
Yooo I’ve basically copied your entire setup 😊with a few personal touches of course. But question what happened are you running with your K04? I’m RHF5 and I’m basically blowing out my spark even at 24 I’m thinking of 22/21 as I’m mot meeting my req boost of 33psi. It will get up to 27 and flutter. I was gapped at 28 but after the IM install and tune it was too wide and barely drivable. Any thoughts?
Lost me after first line.. now every time I'll be checking my spark plugs I'm gonna think about my morning bowel. Thanks that's a last thing I wanna do to compare my car to a diarrhea..
If you listen he didn’t say compare your car to diarrhea… he said compare your spark plug to diarrhea…. First step to being successful is paying attention
1 Question The very last one that u said normal plug look like, I saw a very tiny oil on the plug thread only. Is it normar ? My spark plug has a bit oil glase on the thread only. Is it normal? Or it should be 100 % dry ?? Please answer

@@brucecustommotors My spark plug and blow out valve tail pipe is black
First I heard about the fuel additives causing a dye effect, thanks for that detail it explains why mine look the way they do
Same here some one told me it was coolant getting into cylinder head 😅
Great video, my car has been overheating, now I know why my plug looked the way it does
Ran my first check with my OBDeleven and found some misfires! Great timing as always!
that's what im talking, about im here for any thing you need

Very good way of explaining this. Trying to understand my car so I can figure out some noises. So I'm starting with spark plugs. Thanks!
My pleasure also this video might be helpful th-cam.com/video/9PSo7-MSZtQ/w-d-xo.html
very well informed. good job, the only one you didnt touch on was when a head-gasket blows and your coolant steam cleans the plug.
Love the education on all these topics.
Thanks bro here for you guys, god bless

Finally someone knows what the situation is thanks
You really try out just about everything and I think the analogies are on point.

Is there a way to show wut my spark plugs look like maybe u can give an idea if I have a issue

More gap adds slightly more power (.065 compared to .042). Compressed air on a spark plug tester shows that it won't blow out the spark.
2021 rs5 b9.5 which spark plug is best for me? please tell me that NGK number?>
What do you mean by 'coder spark plugs? ' or are you saying to "code your spark plugs"?
King!!!!!!!!!
my man god bless
Good job
How about the thread of the spark plug if it has oil is that normal
i just did this video th-cam.com/video/odKFpGm4nkY/w-d-xo.html

Running the NGK platinum’s btw
Watching and learning! The analogy between poop and spark plugs was both illustrative and disgusting, BTW - but made a lot of sense. 🤣
Thank you God bless
You're running a colder plug on your a5?
yes because of my tune
@@brucecustommotors I just ordered a colder set of plugs with an upgraded intercooler and pipes. I have the cts k04 turbo and a built bottom end.
@@cam9sec yes same with apr k04, which plug did you choose
@@brucecustommotors got them from ecs, they were ngk one degree colder plug set.

My spark plug has a bit oil glase on the thread only. Is it normal? Or it should be 100 % dry ??
Please answer
It just means that a little oil got thru your valve gasket, you shouldn’t be to concerned. The seal just wears out over time
My plugs didn't look like any of these. The side electrode was white.
I dont uave any additive to n my fuel. But my plug looks like your example plug
Love the poop reference 🤣🤣🤣
A bad ignition coil cause those problems easy fixed
My car was misfiring and I wasnt coil packs that's another way to know your spark is bad
My friend you forgot a spark plug with water on it...
Poop poo plugs lol
