And I think that's the best use case - to control with your watch ~ like phone notifications, cutting a call (still don't know why Apple doesn't allow people to cut their phones if the phone is locked), changing music, and the step counter.
@@DennisMathias Yeah, I only use it when I go for a workout or walk. If I wear it more it feels heavy. I do work from home so the usage is low. I can't imagine sleeping with your watch on.
Exactly why I even wanted a watch. Controlling music and media with my watch is far easier than tap controls on earbuds/headphones, and I like seeing my notifications/calls there too. Definitely looking forward to some updates as the watch has lots of potential.

I agree that he should do more budget friendly devices. but i think he should still only stick to the ones that really stand out from the rest. which is what he does right now. you've got this, he did one on the pocophone f1, he reviewed the mpow headphones. those are devices that really have something that differentiate them from other budget tech. so he does review budget tech, but he is more selective. i think instead of doing 1 or 2 budget devices each year, he should do 5 or 6. but he needs to still stay selective. there are great channels that do high quality reviews of budget tech. i used to follow a couple, back when i was going trough a financial rough patch, and couldnt afford premium phones that werent 4 years old. but to be honest, when you can afford premium tech, the budget options are not an option anymore. because you give up a lot of things when you go budget. the cameras always suck, screen quality sucks, processor speed sucks, and you start to appreciate the premium stuff again. but there is a need for low budget tech when you're counting every dollar you make. but once youre back on your feet, all the budget tech blends together. dont get me wrong, i still enjoy a great deal on a low budget item. but it has to really stand out from the rest. just like mpow headphones did back before they got cancelled. the pocophone f1 was a great budget device with premium features, but a tech item, has to be at that level of price advantage for me to even consider it anymore. if I want something cheap, i just look for a used premium item that is 1 or 2 years old.
Got mine a couple of days ago, essentially completing my Nothing Trio of Phone, Buds and Watch. And the watch is basic, nice fit and finish, love the analog watch face, very smooth & responsive and pairs perfectly with the Nothing Phone, no complaints at all.
The only thing I'D personally miss would be the app and watcface support. I'm not even sure if this has a store at all. Also I don't know about the accuracy, I'd have to wait until a scientific review comes out from the quantified scientist
LMFAO I thought the same thing. There are so many cheap smartphones, smartwatches and earbuds which are actually good and us people dont even know about them😭
At work they gave me a cheap $20 smart watch that has a lot of the same features/issues this thing does and also has a suspiciously similar charger lol
@@p5ychy normally because in countries like the USA, we have a negative outlook on cheap electronics. Cheap is only ever considered for food and clothes but electronics is not one of them. You’ll even find most of the low-income families owning a couple of Apple devices. Or at least the more prestigious Android smartphones as an alternative. Even when I was 13 years old, most kids around me had an iPhone. None of us were rich. It’s weird if you ask me but quite normal. And if you were caught with a cheap smartphone or smart watch, anything that isn’t Apple or Samsung, you would be bullied lol.
So it's not far off being a Pebble watch for the modern age. I'm good with that, still rocking my Pebble 2 for pretty much the exact functionality this thing offers, I don't need apps, I just wanna be able to see notifications and control my music. Perfect.
I would agree minus the battery life. If what he said was true and this thing was able to get the 13-14ish days without turning on battery saver, then it would be much closer to pebble in my mind. It was the simplicity plus the battery life that I loved about my pebble.
I think as much as nothing tried, amazfit absolutely smashed this market with their smartwatches. The build quality is solid, battery life lasts for 20 days and have the pairing reliability to give up my wear os watch and never go back.
I agree. I’ve had an Amazfit Bip U Pro for a while and it’s as budget friendly as it gets. While they run the same OS, they’ve definitely come a long way and is definitely way more accurate and battery efficient than my Apple Watch 3. The GTR 2 and POP3R is a good VFM.
is there anything you wish it did better? or find annoying? like I would be annoyed with this watch having to keep the app open on my main device for certain functions to work. I'm wondering if he could change the app priority so that it would just stay open in the background, but then of course it's using more battery & RAM on the main device to keep the app open in the background
The Wyze watch is an awesome comparison. Only $30 and it does everything the same or better as this one AND it has a nice aluminum frame. Feels very high quality.
I would've liked to see the accuracy of the health monitoring data compared to the Apple watch. I was waiting for you to mention it. Surprised you didn't include that.
almost certainly it's going to suck. Similarly priced smart bands like Mi Band 8 aren't really that great in anything but the simplest scenarios (like running on a treadmill).

Yep, happy with the Mi Band here too. It would still feel weird to me to have a conversation on my watch, so I totally don't miss that functionality! And it was easy to get a third party stainless strap at a decent price, a huge thing for me with any smartwatch because I get a rash from silicone and all the other materials pretty fast.
As someone who owns one of these, I feel like you missed the mark on a couple things. The build, Idk how the hell you got "plastic feeling" from the aluminium body body but I handed it to my IT coworkers and asked them what they thought it felt like and they ALL said, "aluminium" and a few said, "aluminium with some sort of coating on it". Secondly, the button, I asked them if the Burton felt "cheap" and they said it doesn't, it doesn't have an audible click but that's fine, it still feels firm and assuring. Otherwise great review.
I bought one for $30 in Brazil, based on the Apple Watch Ultra, I sincerely was expecting something way worse, to use only as a watch, and it surprised me. For $30 🤯
It's mind boggling that people actually buy an ultra replica to use as a watch. There are so many better looking watches out there. The only reason to get the apple watch is for the sensors.
I think I got a similar one, it's an Apple Ultra knock-off for Android - $32 - and while it is a little basic, it does so much more that the one shown in this video, it looks good, does a pretty good job AND plays music as a party trick! AliExpress rocks!
Nice pricing, and I hope CMF & Nothing will continue expanding their ecosystem to benefit more consumers 👌 it's always good to have more players in the field.
You attention to detail in your set and clothing is incredible! The black globe with the orange boxes? The black, grey/silver and orange/red pullover? All matching the watch? Even the pencil and the cloth! I love looking for these details!
These things are not a smartwatch, its a fitness band like FitBit in a watch case. It doesn't have an OS and neither is it smart. Not everything that looks like a watch is is Smartwatch.
I'm still rocking my Pebble Time Kickstart. I've tried Apple Watch series 3, a Garmin watch and a few others, but I keep coming back to my Pebble. Simple, reliable, snappy [feeling, thanks to clever animations] and it still has multi-day battery.
imagine fully paying full price for a product, sleeping on it 6 months straight giving the company consistent data ... yet the company ONLY let's you tap into a sleep report ONCE during that whole time... Yikes
Can someone name a single thing they do on their smartwatch that they can't live without? No seriously, I spent $250 on mine and have spent the last 2 years trying to justify it to myself.
The big thing for me is that it legitimately made me look at my phone less, which is a value gain. Timer, time, notifications, flashlight, etc that used to require I pull out my phone, can simply be accessed by the watch, which reduces the chance I then switch over to some social media or game.
I mean if you’re only buying things you can’t live without you won’t get a lot of stuff… I use mine to track exercises and check my progress, heart rate, weight etc… also really good for running, especially downloading songs to it and connecting earbuds and gps, so I don’t need to bring my phone when running. Other than that it’s slightly more convenient to check notifications. It’s also a really good alarm to wake up to, instead of an annoying sound, I just get a silent vibration on the wrist
My phone is always on silent mode because I don't like recieving calls but sometimes in silent mode I missout some very important calls. So that's why I use my smartwatch to notify me about calls via vibration.
Nice review, Marques. This looks very similar to my Wyze 47, which has worked flawlessly for 2+ years. I don't use constant heart rated monitoring or raise to wake, so a full charge is good for 2-3 months. Some good value to be had in these budget friendly devices!
As a fellow Wyze 47 watch user, this also gave me major comparisons to this. With the Wyze being $30 vs $69, but with added features with this watch, it gives me second thoughts to upgrade to it. As Wyze doesn't seem to release or update our watches any more.
Same thoughts here, but while this keeps working, I'll be using it 🙂 Though, replacing the band on my current watch seems to be an issue (unless I want pink...)
one of the best features of a budget smart watch is that due to their simplicity and lack of features beyond the basics (which i mostly do not need to begin with), they can last weeks if not months on a single charge. this reason alone is why i stick with budget smart watches.
I bought the apple watch ultra 2 a few weeks ago. Returned it. It was impressively uncomfortable. That sensor housing in the back of the watch dug in to my wrist. I loosened it, but it got unbearable. Even a week after i returned it, i still had a dull pain in my wrist from it. Such a shame because i liked the watch itself and also looked great
@aniketmahajan8422 Did you think your comment was smart and witty? 😂 He defended the company from what? He's right. But I don't believe OP ever owned an ultra 2. Most likely someone trolling because they can afford it. Either that or weak wrist. Apple doesn't need any defending over their amazing apple watch ultra 2. It speaks for itself.
You could try mi band 8, its cheaper and has a nicer display (AMOLED, 60hz) and it runs and feels a lot smoother plus the battery is pretty good, 1 to 2 weeks it depends on how much you use it.
What's off putting about the mi band is the oval display. I've had the 3, 5 and 7 and the 3 has the best battery life (because it was a dot display). I mostly used them for tracking my heart rate during workouts. It was a good first smartwatch if you haven't had one but after a while I wanted a larger screen, so I went for budget ones that had that and so far it's got most of the same features as in this video. You want accessories just do enough basic stuff and get out of your way. For me, I don't need my watch to replace my phone and distract me more easily.
@@markmywords3817 Same here I even wear them when I go for a swim and had no problems thus so far, didn't expect that for a product of this price. I had the 6 and now the 8, switched to 8 because its a lot smoother, and for the oval display me personally I love it because its slick, and it doesn't stick out when I wear it in public.
Had a Samsung Smart watch for years - used it to tell the time and occasionally check my steps. When it died, I got a Wyze Watch for about $30 and nothing has changed ... other than the battery has lasted longer and so has the watch (only had to buy one replacement band after the last one was worn out).
Hey Marques! Great video - one thing I will mention though is that eight sleep has recently been restricting access to their API (which is commonly used by enthusiasts to make custom automations, etc) which has been disappointing to some members of the smart home community. Given that you mentioned some other comments to them I would really appreciate if you asked them to be more open about their API policies! I would be much more likely to buy a product from them if I knew they were friendly to the enthusiast community!
for instance, asking siri to heat the bed or setting up a custom automation to start heating/cooling the bed based on whether you are home and the temperature outside

I bought this from the Nothing store in London, I like it, i wear it when I’m just out and about, if I’m going somewhere fancier my TicWatch pro 5 is the choice, good to have 2 options. Only downside about the CMF is tiny font and no option to change
Nice review. Curious how accurate the sensors and technology in the budget package are. If there was a side by side with Apple Watch/Garmin with some wear testing that would be awesome.
@@kangkhalim6763 Yeah maybe not. I just think there's a lot of technology out now, specifically budget ones, that "check a box" of having a feature. But when they don't work well I think it's just producing trash. It entices people to buy it, it doesn't work, and they throw it out. You'd think Nothing would do some due diligence, but they're not putting their name on it, they're putting CMF's name on it to not hurt their own brand.
Well, smartwatches aren't a real tools to measure health anyway, but as a benchmark on how to improved yourself from day to day. If you want a real accurate readings just buy a real medical equipment, there's so many factors that make smartwatches less reliable than the right tools, especially in form factor.
Crazy how I just today received a MI Band 8 imported from China by a relative for 30$ For less than half the price I’d say the Mi Band is much much better. Edit: 05:48 that UI and graph is suspiciously similar to that of Mi Band's.....
2:16 did you mean to make this mistake? You said: "IP68 water and dust resistant" That's backwards right? It should be said "Dust and water" resistant so people don't think it's got an 8 dust resistance
I think a big win for this CMF watch compared to other budget watches (if the spec list is accurate) is that it has GPS built-in which is a deal breaker for me. I'm in the uk and can't seem to find anywhere to buy it. Ive been using the Amazfit Bip S for a few years now and its feature rich and looks better that the CMF. Im probably going to upgrade to the Bip 3 for £69 and looks to outclass the CMF in my opinion.
Yeah, that surprised me too. I like to keep GPS off on my phone except when I need it (mostly) to save battery life. So if I can do that and still have location function for the watch that would be cool. But I have a strong suspicion that the CMF app will ask / nag me about / or even insist that I also turn location on on my phone to use most location functions. That's the way these things usually work for whatever reason.
@@Tom_Stevens617 How so? They require subscription for features they advertise, and they store your sleep data. That data probably is anonymized, but still stored and used. Let's see how long until data breach or selling that data.

I recently got an Apple Watch Ultra clone from AliExpress for $10 and it had a much better metal body with Apple-like finish, much smaller screen bezels and wireless charging. Everything else like the UI, sensors etc sucked but the build quality was surprisingly good.
I've had a Dafit watch for a couple of years. It was about $30 and is still going. It has a mesh/magnet band that I like, although it also came with a plastic band. Its supposed to do heart, O2 and sleep functions, but I don't know how accurate they are. I charge it once a week and it just keeps on going.
Thats the thing with a smart watch app though they are technically suppose to be always running in the background for you to get things like calls amd notifications amd other stuff along with it being connected too the phone. Most smartwatches apps will tell u to connect the watch to the Bluetooth of the phone through the app now instead of the Bluetooth menu so everything works properly.
I'm genuinely curious about the infrastructure powering Amazon's AMK33X. It's as if they've constructed an unseen digital architecture that's about to become central to our existence.
Hey. First time watcher and I wanted to say that I really respect this review because of your efforts to educate the viewer. You know enough about these products to tell me, someone who knows nothing, that this is not an inexpensive version of THIS type smart watch, and explained that there are really different tiers of smart watches. I didn't really realize that. I thought there were smart watches and then, maybe, watches that do smart things. I didn't really realize there are cheaper, less feature rich, but still good smart watches. Good to know, thanks.
$69 for this is still a bit too expensive for a basics-oriented wearable. Depending on where you live, you could get the 2023 Mi Band for like half the price and that thing would have better app integration.
This looks promising, but since it launched in Europe and Asia first, they might have limited accessibility, and a few bugs, but for 69 bucks, I'm kinda tempted to try it...
I miss the Pebble watches that were inexpensive and had insanely long battery life, and were like $100 for the most premium one. The Nothing Watch reminds me of those days. Edit: I literally keep forgetting it's called the CMF Watch.
That’s why I got one of the fitbits. It last forever, I get important notifications, tracks my steps, and I can submerge it in water and not worry about ruining it. I’ll probably never go back to an Apple Watch.

Got this for ₹3,300 ($40) and I'm absolutely loving it. The AshGray colour has a nice matte aluminum build which feels way more premium than its price would suggest and all the recent updates have made it so much better. Such a bargain tbh.
Since the CMF watch is not transparent, it is much easier to get it fully water and dust resistant, because you simply glue everything up tight on the inside, cause nobody's going to see if it gets messy. :)
Cheapside is a street in London’s financial centre, the City. Contrary to what the name would suggest to the American audience, it is a premium finance and shopping destination. Its name is actually a historic reference to the days when London streets were named after the markets and shops they held - like the nearby Bread St, Poultry St, Wood St and, my favourite, Love Lane.

The battery life is insane in it compared to my galaxy 6 pro watch.... And I damn near use both of them for the same thing
Loved that you did a review on this, hoping you'll do more reviews on budget friendly devices rather than only the elite ones

Is there any of their smartwatches you'd recommend?
LIGE and LEMFO are worth a look as well ... I have a couple of both and they are like Casio and Timex had a love-child of the indestructible type.

Can someone name a single thing they do on their smartwatch that they can't live without?
No seriously, I spent $250 on mine and have spent the last 2 years trying to justify it to myself.
reason why I never buy a smartwatch even though it is hella cool
Notifications, especially call notifications. However, my watch was much cheaper than yours, so yours might have some other features.
My phone is always on silent mode
because I don't like recieving calls
but sometimes in silent mode I missout some very important calls.
I was thinking it was like a Nothing watch! CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing Technology! Cool!

Wyze Watch…. Similar price and function …. Have one, 3 years now. Love it. No sound though, just vibration.
@@CactusJack252 Ive heard that FitBits tend to have phantom steps and be inaccurate, but I'm not sure if I've ever heard that from anyone outside of an Apple store. Have you had any issues?
@@CactusJack252Apple destroys Fitbit IMO. And for the “good” Fitbits, an Apple Watch isn’t much more money. Only thing they’ve got on Apple is battery life, but I charge my watch every night just like my phone. No need to have multi day battery life IMO.
Love the change of pace with a budget friendly video
Just say the name dude
Bond, James Bond.
Cmf watch by nothing
This is awesome! My 1st Smart watch (LG Urbane2) didnt even have a speaker on it. This is a great gift for the kiddos!
If you liked Pebble watches, this is probably what the Pebble 4 been. I love my Garmin Instinct but this is a compelling alternative.
Got this for ₹3,300 ($40) and I'm absolutely loving it. The AshGray colour has a nice matte aluminum build which feels way more premium than its price would suggest and all the recent updates have made it so much better. Such a bargain tbh.
I can’t believe how constant mkbhd is posting but still including the high quality notes that you can never miss! 🔥
Its amazing!
At this rate too
At this price range I would recommend Honor Watch 4 which has much better design and quality, better amoled display.. Which doesn't feel cheap at all
Agreed 👍!! What a needed recommendation that mkd forgot to mention
A free sleep report every six months. That is so generous of them
I can get a wallpaper for a year and a month with that
Since the CMF watch is not transparent, it is much easier to get it fully water and dust resistant, because you simply glue everything up tight on the inside, cause nobody's going to see if it gets messy.
Plz do more budget tech reviews and unboxing we love it
Goat has been going for years and still drops masterpieces
*Only MKBHD can tease you with a random electronic in the background like that dope keyboard during a smartwatch review*
I bought one for my son, you got exactly the same watch with many different brands on it and different apps and sometimes software, this is a generic Chinese cheap watch. Price from 25 up to 70 dollars, the watch crown here does work for navigation, like the apple on.😉 There is also one with software that looks like an Apple, clone. Thanks for the review!🙏👍
Honestly this watch is sort of the return of the Pebble Watch! Cheap and simple smart watch that does everything you need at a fraction of the price and with a much better battery life! As someone who sold their Apple watch for an analog watch, this would cover all the fitness features I liked on the Apple Watch at a much more appealing price point.
Great watch! Its a good watch. Came across it in store the other day. Definitely would recommend it for anyone looking for an entry level smartwatch. However if you can spend a lil more money id advise going into the $200 range coz thats usually where the jump is between the base smartwatches and the mid range smartwatches. But definitely good for an entry for someone just looking for the basic functions as a companion watch.
Is it?
You don't even know how accurate the sensors are.
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
Imagine getting the shine from MKBHD. This company is gonna make bank this Black Friday!
Not bad, the only tech reviewer i trust...staysTrue😂
Same here. We dont get one whole minute wasted on introduction. Straight to the point.
😂😂I hate time wasting. I love mk style🎉
🤣🤣
I love how good the cheap tech market has gotten recently, cant wait to see how insane tech is in 10 years
I bought a Huawei Band 7 for $30 and it's stylish, tracks steps, sleep, my swim strokes and timings, wakes me up in the morning and eliminated the need for alarms, a flashlight on my wrist in pitch darkness, battery lasts a week.
For $30. The only thing it can't do is take calls and NFC payments. But $30. Amazing piece of tech.
I’ll pay $79 to have the screen radius match the bezel lol. Would drive me crazy
