Summer of 1977 my father and I decided to drive cross country from upstate NY to California and back..I was 16 and it took us 3 weeks to cover all those miles...We were stopped in San Francisco for what we thought was construction...while waiting I see this flash of red coming from the side...It was this Torino moving up fast...It slid sideways and came to a screeching stop...the two jumped out and Starsky slid across the hood...they were filming the show and had traffic held up...it was awesome...

Wow! A grate job... Again. The new wheels give it a much better and more aggressive stance.

i'm normally not a fan of raised white letter tires on these die cast models, but they look great here and are absolutely period-correct (mid 70s).

Great work putting that decal on Danny. Thank God you sped it up because from when it started folding upon itself... I was holding my breath!
I am surprised that you didn't detail the lights and grill but hey, it's your car and you already made it 1000% better. Nice work.

I enjoy how you take the castings most people wouldn't try to restore because, they are so far gone. I am working on a couple of those myself. Cheers!!

Nice job! The paint and stripe look terrific. When I was in 4th grade we got a brand new '72 Gran Torino, green with a dark green vinyl roof. We flew into Detroit to pick it up and then went on a long road trip to our home in Texas. It was pretty plush for that day - electric windows, cruise control, a/c. My dad installed an 8-track player under the dash.

My Mom bought a '72 brand new. Roman Red, white interior, formal top 302 under the hood. I was six. Sixteen years later I learned to drive in that car. But soon learned the frame had rotted beyond repair. To this day she's one of my three favorites I ever had. Losing her was like losing a family member.

Top job Danny, nice choice of replacement wheels! Every kid in the 70's was a fan of the show and had one of these in their toy collection myself included, I'm sure that few of them survived until today as they were made quite cheaply, nice to see this one survive long enough for a resto.

Danny, VERY nice job on the Torino. I really loved that body style and longed for one during my military days. On MY pay, I could not afFORD it ... Liked the wheel change and decals. I wish you had put in a red flashing LED to replace the missing item. It would have been a nice touch, but then it would NOT have been a restoration.

Nice job as always Danny. Good call on the decal, the black outline can't be done on a single decal without an ALPS printer, I've tried different techniques and clear coat procedures and they have all failed. However! If you do what you just did and then print out a separate black outline on clear decal paper that chokes in slightly on the white decal but also just slightly spreads on the outside of it as well, you can then apply the outline over top of the original white decal. It's as fussy as the day is long but it works so long as the project deserves the extra effort.
