I had one of these when I was a boy in the sixties. I also had its bigger brother with the firing mortar rockets-moving exhaust flame and chain cutter. Nice seeing this and a great job of restoration as usual.
Beauty. I had the bigger model with the fencecutter thing that popped out at the front and triple firing cannons (shells got lost, replaced with matchsticks).
I still have mine and my kids have chipped a bit more paint off. I recall that it came as a set with boat on a trailer, must have been late 70's. I lost the shells as a kid and tried to force another plastic projectile of the wrong calibre into one of the launchers which remains to this day.
Yeah, I had one as a kid in the 60s. The buzzsaw at the front, rocket tubes, the flame exhaust that went in and out, and the bat symbol on the wheels....
What I LOVE about these older Corgi and Matchbox cars is the suspension. As a kid the bounce off jumps made it so cool. They may not have had the speed of the Hot Wheels but they had more features. Doors that opened, hoods, trunks, etc. I has a old Trans-Am and a REALLY odd colored Porsche. It was a metallic pink, BUT it had the BEST suspension ever. So did the Trans-Am. I wish I still had them.
Bat-tastic job on the well worn Batmobile ... It is now looking Bat-new and ready to run the streets of Gotham City. Batman and Robin can be proud of that Bat-ride !! You should help the dynamic duo out and do a newer Batmobile for the down the Bat-road.
Holy crap I’m a professional artist and never ever would attempt to paint those wheels like you did. That’s one steady hand mate. Brilliant job. I had this as a kid.
The original was made by Husky - whose models you could only buy from branches of the now defunct F.W. Woolworth stores. It had skinny 'regular' wheels, and had painted Batman and Robin figures inside. In the late 1960's, Corgi (who manufactured Husky toys) re branded Husky as 'Corgi Juniors'. The Batmobile was slightly retooled to accept the new 'Whizzwheels', and a simplified, unpainted Batman figure was put behind the wheel. The later version did not include the figure.
The husky version had no tow hook, a metal base BUT did have a flame moving in and out of the exhaust (just like the bigger Corgi model), the first of the corgi juniors still had the metal base (this still had hump on for the cam that drove the flame motion) but no flames, then they replaced the base when they fitted whizz wheels.
@@passthebutterrobot2600 - Yes, cost cutting. Corgi were the last of the 'Big Three' toy car manufacturers to go under - Dinky went in 1979, Matchbox in 1982, and finally Corgi, in 1983. I always found that the saddest of all. They had striven to make the best models available, and had been first to introduce basic things; window transparencies; interiors; suspension, etc., and yet, at the end, they were releasing rather dull, generic models, and worse, issued catalogues featuring models that they hadn't a chance of ever releasing - 'The Dan Dare' car, that looked astonishing, and which, me, and a lot of similar people would have bought if released. Check it out on Wikipedia. But yes, cost cutting. I have two Corgi Junior Batmobiles, one mine, one my brother's. His has stickers on the doors, mine has one by the missile tubes.
I had one of these when I was a young kid in the ‘80s. There was a brief resurgence in the popularity of Batman in the UK then, as it was shown on breakfast TV (out of necessity, to have something on screen - there was a long-running strike). Corgi must have ridden that wave and re-issued the model. I’m pretty sure mine had tampo printed pinstripes on the fins, and that the bat logos on the back and the doors were also tampo printed. I think the wheels were also picked out in a red/orange colour to match the interior (which I remember being redder than the model in the video), rather than the usual silver.
Yeah, me too, I got quite some few nice Corgi and Lesney cars. You know, back when stuff actually was british and not owned by americans and made abroad. Not that I mind, it just has been quite some change.
Nice gloss black. Looks great. Like the diorama at the end reveal. Gotham City police headquarters? Your Batmobile has a tow hitch. You can get a matching trailer with the Bat Boat. I have the earlier Husky Batmobile, with the Bat Boat and trailer.
@@DannysDiecastDisasters The Husky version is not too bad. Has a metal base, and the 'pulsing' rocket exhaust. The grey plastic Husky wheels lets the looks down a bit. I'm yet to restore it, but thinking about painting the orange highlights the TV car had.
@@davidparker8221 good suggestion. Thanks for that. So far, as complicated paint jobs go, I have only repainted some 2 tones: Matchbox Ford Zodiac, and Cadillac sixty special. If it does go belly-up, at least it is not much to paint strip and try again.
That Batmobile body style is the best one, that piece looks really familiar. It needed your touch my friend and you did it again. Good job my friend, it can strut its stuff once again.
Great job on it, I used to have one when I was a kid back in the 70’s , I don’t know what I did with it but now I have a few batmoblie now in my collection, love them
I have one of these on my shelf right now! Slightly worse condition than your original. The only major thing is the center bar of the windscreens is totally gone. You may have inspired me to restore this thing...
Absolutely beautiful. Great job. I have this casting n the same exact condition as yours was. Gotta get one of those orange bat decals before I can restore it. Love the channel.👍👍
Still do have one! This has been one of my fave episodes. I think because of the stock wheels. I like to know that the car is still able to roll and run well. With the larger or more detailed wheels, they sure look good sitting still but they just look like they don't roll well and it looses it for me as I run all my cars on tracks still. Really nice work on this! I wonder wha the axle ends would look like painted red, as the actual car had red bat centre caps.
looking good! the first condition wasn't too bat, either, I've seen some on flea markets that were worn down way more than that. the large scaled one is pretty rare here, and pricey if in good condition.
Love it 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻, the 60’s batmobile is by far my favorite followed by the 80’s batmobile. I’ve looked into getting me one of these casting but very expensive and very poor condition.
Batman:" To the batmobile robin." Robin:" Holy restoration, the batmobile looks as good as new Batman." Batman: " Yes robin, and, not a minute too soon."
Nice restoration but i think "Bat-decals" at the fronthood and the doors would look a bit better.. I have the two actual HotWheels-version (one grey and one black car) of that famous car, sadly without a Batman-figure.
Fantastic restoration! After buying a Corgi Junior Batmobile in 1983, I decided to customize it by painting the edge of the bubble canopies silver. I am wondering about a few of your techniques. Is that air-brush paint, or spray can? What polish did you use to buff out the clear plastic piece, and then what product did you use to coat it?
I had several of these Corgi Jr. Batmobiles and once I even had the Bat boat and trailer. I couldn't restore something this small my hands shake too much.
Yes ! I had them too ! But the sice was about 1/36 scale as I remember. Lost both, think Batman and Robin went on retirement when I was about twenty years old.😆 Greetings and best wishes!
Timeless....I still have my matchbox collection 50yrs later!
I had one of these when I was a boy in the sixties. I also had its bigger brother with the firing mortar rockets-moving exhaust flame and chain cutter. Nice seeing this and a great job of restoration as usual.

Yes, I've got the older one too, but with plastic wheels, and have the box too. Funnily, the rockets are missing, but I did buy it used in the 1980s.
I still have mine and my kids have chipped a bit more paint off. I recall that it came as a set with boat on a trailer, must have been late 70's. I lost the shells as a kid and tried to force another plastic projectile of the wrong calibre into one of the launchers which remains to this day.
I used to play with that exact one at my nursery! I loved it
Same here. My opa (grandfather) gave it to me when we lived in Germany.
Yeah, I had one as a kid in the 60s. The buzzsaw at the front, rocket tubes, the flame exhaust that went in and out, and the bat symbol on the wheels....
I love to see the old bat mobiles. Another beauty Danny

Awesome job!! Brings back good ol childhood days!!!
Awesome restoration 👍👍😊
Very nice and the best looking style of the Batmobile
I have a PlayArt version of the batmobile in my collection, similar to this one. One of my favorite models as a kid.
Nice resto!

Holy Batmobile Danny! that's a great bat makeover, Thanks for the fun.
Batman Approved! Beautiful restoration!👍

I've noticed previously that some Corgi Juniors Batmobiles had bat decals on the doors, and some didn't. I assume this relates to the date of release.

Wow man!
That is a great change. First time I see that model 👍🏻
Excellent resto.. would look good in anyone's display case.
Nice resto you have done a great job.😎👍
Very cool! Been a Batman fan since the 60’s. Superb restoration!
Great job restoring the Bat Mobile l have got lucky and seen the real car from the 70's and that was very cool.
Batmobile 1st, based on Lincoln Futura concept car.
No possibility of fashion paintjob.
Only black.
Good job, Danny.
Another great looking restoration!!.. Looks like it's nice enough to put into the original Blister Pack.... Ready to fight crime again in Gotham City!
Looks great Danny.🦇
Your turntable editting was pretty much flawless.
Great resto
Got two of these & two bigger ones - found ‘em in a box up my parent’s loft a while ago - took me right back....
Very smart restoration Danny, nice end shots out and about in Gotham city.
Love the casting, love your work, hate those Corgi wheels with a passion.
I had one of these as a boy, must of been the 1970 version, my favourite car!
Cool batman nice job.
Hi danny ive still got a couple of these dint the earlier ones have the flames coming out of the back n no towbar on it
Beautiful job mate, can't wait for mine to come in so I can get to restoring it. Have a crazy Idea for a diorama...
Excellent restoration of the Batman Matchbox, I wanted to comment that this batimovil also had the decals on the sides. greetings from Argentina

Nice job! But, I would have put the Batman symbols on the doors as well! Because, that's what makes the Batmobile so iconic!
Great job 👍👍
Likely better than brand new!
Holy Restoration BatMan !!
Heck, now you just need the Corgi Batboat that went with it!
Love this one, especially the 'face' at 9.25
Beautiful!
If Adam West were still around, he'd give a BIG thumbs-up!
Fantastic job 👍👍👍
It came out batriffic Danny 🍻
I had this exact car when I was like 5 years old.. great memories
Atomic batteries to power.....turbine to speed........lets move out! *Batman 66 theme tune*.......awesome!

Epson inkjet printer.
Nice work of course, but I'd would have rather seen a detailed custom paint job
