This gig is a bit of a shocker. After a couple of sluggish performances the boys, without Noel completely rejuvenate themselves at this gig in Hamburg. The performance tonight is an all-round stormer for the German crowd, with some great performances of Supersonic, Gas Panic and Cigarettes & Alcohol, among others. The instrumentalists turn in a very high energy gig, with many of the songs here having a much more lively tempo and feel to them after a string of gigs (Paris, Marseille, Berlin) being a bit slow. Essentially, it turns the clocks back to Milan, the first gig they played after Noel left, where the band truly had something to prove. That feeling is once again felt throughout the gig. Liam also puts in one of his strongest shows of the month, with Acquiesce in particular showing him have some energy behind his singing once again, something which had been lacking for the last few weeks. All in all, a very good performance, given the circumstances and one of the best Noel-less gigs out there. Unfortunately the encore is missing, but everything else is here.
