    In my opinion Noel Gallagher is a great guitarist !! it is not virtuous and maybe not tecnical. But he have very clear What it does, loved when I improvised songs like champagne supernova, or bring it on down, supersonic And so many others ...

    The fact that he’s not the most skilled guitar player but managed to created such iconic riffs and solo’s conveys his brilliance as a musician.

      Indeed. I have a mate that is very good at guitar. Like insane. He's like: o that's nothing special, its easy to play. But when I ask him to play it it's nothing like this. Clearly he doesn't understand what its all about and just listenes to music in a technical way..

    • @danrl9710
      @danrl9710 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Dani I have a mate who can play every single Noel riff perfectly - you wouldn’t know it wasn’t NG if you closed your eyes. However, I don’t think it says much in general about his musicianship. He is able to mimic something, that’s it. I would be able to do the same with enough practice. I can mimic accents and learn languages really quickly, doesn’t mean that I can create my own though. So many skills in life are purely isolated and specific. For instance, I’ve fooled around with basic pentatonic notes for days on end and have never been able to stumble upon a hook as catchy as Noel’s. And to your point, there are thousands and thousands of guitarists better technically than Noel, but they can’t write a riff, and I think this is often due to the fact that they have so many tools in the toolbox and so much musical theory that they can’t just let it fly in practice. Either way, this is my favorite band of all time and I thank the Gallagher brothers daily!

      I agree-I still recall first hearing ‘Supersonic’ as a teenager and I just loved the melody he wrote for the chorus. It was so addictive, man, and so fun to sing. I used to sit up on mi second-storey roof with a Gatorade bottle of gin and mi CD boom box, crankin out Definitely Maybe, smoking Dunhills and wavin all the girls to come up and join me as they’d walk by in their groups of four or five.

    His solos are always "just what the song dictates". His solos fit the mood and the music. He never attempts to do more than he is capable of and is always very tasteful and thoughtful of each note. He doesn't try to cover up with a bunch of jumping around or weird gesturing. He is a complete musician, songwriter, and singer. That is why he is still going strong. Love this guy.

    I always liked Noel's rhythm guitar better than his solos. Live forever on the album is his best solo. Champagne Supernova live version was always epic. Noel progressed as a musician, he's a better singer now than he's ever was.... but as lead guitarist he never inspired me with his play after Be Here Now. I always thought he might adapt a style like a blend of Marr & Gilmour, since Noel has that sense for melody but it never happened.

    • @0w3n27
      @0w3n27 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. If Oasis had a better lead guitarist and Noel was the rhythm guitarist I feel they could’ve been a lot better

    • @jayquanvo5134
      @jayquanvo5134 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. He did have some great solos like Live Forever, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova, Headshrinker, Dyou Know what I mean? His Magic Pie live solo was decent. He obviously knows the Pentatonic scale but he didn’t really break away from the one or two shapes/position or harmony bends. BB King was famous for just using two positions of the Pentatonic scale but he managed to get so much variety.
      He really had a lot of interesting guitar fills up to the Be Here Now period. After that he really seemed to step back from lots of guitar fills and longer solos.
      Even his chord progressions and song structures became less interesting with each new Oasis album.
      As a singer/song writer he’s one of the best of his generation. As a guitarist he was decent enough and his style served his band perfectly. But even with my criticisms of his guitar playing, I have to admit he was a guitar hero for many Oasis and BritPop fans, including me. He was the reason I picked up a guitar in early high school and bought a signatured Epiphone Supernova in Manchester Blue.

    La mejor versión en vivo de Gas Panic es en el show Jools Holland en el 2000.
    Hay mejores versiones en vivo tocadas por Noel Gallagher de Supersonic, Live Forever, DLBIA y Cigarrettes And Alcohol (incluyendo Whole Lotta Love de Led Zeppelin) que las aparecen en el video.
    A pesar lo de extenso, la mejor version en vivo de Champagne Supernova es la Earls Court, que aparece en ...There And Then.

    Ok, but who has given melodies better than, or like, those by Noel Gallagher, (Oasis and Afterwards). If it is not top and touching melodies, then what music, or guitar, is? A Technical accomplishment ?!
    Kawish Abbasi.

    Basic guitar player tbh, although of course great song writer. As a guitarist and Oasis fan in the 90's (I was at Knebworth and Earls Court, at the front) I of course was obsessed with them but it actually held me back technically being into Oasis. It wasn't until later on in life that I got into (much) more technical playing and realised how much I'd been held back by the Oasis influence. No regrets though, it is what it is.

    Noel gallagher is a great guitarist but he's not as technical as Brian May or Gary Moore or as some other guitarist. But I think he is a good guitarist

    Para mí no es tan virtuoso pero es un héroe de la guitarra y una de las pocas leyendas del buen rock vivas por eso q cada vez q escuchamos oasis es el + la voz de Liam y la voz de el porq su guitarra y la voz de estos 2 monstros es oasis. Lo demás es relleno por eso q oasis Noel y Liam son los número 1 del rock. Disculpen por ser termo pasa q no escuché banda como oasis y a pesar q están separados no han cambiado el estilo y oasis está más viva en el corazón de los fans

    People think of him as a chord strummer. He's pretty good at soloing too, its just not his main thing.
