They say never meet your idols but I think we can allow this.
I think Burt was probably really happy that a band like Oasis could appreciate his music. Heck, his photo is sitting next to the couch in Definitely Maybe. And only two months post Oasis' biggest gigs seems like a perfect opportunity to invite Noel to perform This Guy's In Love With You.
So in late June at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Burt Bacharach invited Noel Gallagher on stage, and fucking killed it. Beautiful performance, lovely vocals... everything just feels right here.
This recording also includes Burts intro to Noel which is incredibly touching.

I love this performance so much, Noel's shaky voice only makes it sound more heartfelt. Lots of people still think Oasis were a bunch of brutish lads (partially) but Noel is and was a softy at heart. I honestly hope I can feel this way about someone one day. Hearing Noel talk about this experience is amazing too, definitely recommend checking that out.
