I was nearly 30 when we left the Island in 1966. I couldn't drive mainly because we didn't have a car, until the year before we left (a friend gave us his old one!), so I have never driven on these roads. My husband could drive though and we often borrowed his father's car. I didn't learn to drive until we had been in NZ for a couple of years. When we returned for visits my husband always drove. I suppose 32 is quite old to learn to drive but I think I was old enough to appreciate the car and the road - never had an accident. Thanks Ross always love your videos.

We came by car for the second time this year (always flew the many times before), and I really enjoyed it! Really nice, relaxed and polite drivers on the island! And my big old Berlingo still has both wing mirrors 😂😂
Also the german parking clock seems to be allowed, didn't catch a 'present'...
Thanks to you Filter in turn is no problem. However, that would NEVER work in germany. Everyone would insist he was there first 😂😂
What does the trick for me is sitting on the left side driving. So I can easily check where my car ends and the wall begins 😊 Our housekeeper in Del Mar agreed that would be a thing for all guernsey cars😂
I love driving in Guernsey, always an adventure, but a good one!!!!❤

We came to Guernsey last year with our own car and i was afraid driving on the „wrong“ side. In Germany, we drive on the right side 😇😉. But it still worked well. Filter in turn and the roundabouts were easy to drive and we met a lot of friendly and considerate drivers. After a few days, i enjoyed driving in Guernsey.

@@claudiakaemper4882 Das verstehe ich und ich denke auch, dass filter in turn in Deutschland nicht funktionieren würde 😊

Guernsey is not easy for us who drive on the left. All credit to you for coming over to do it.

Learned to drive in Sheffield. Steep slopes, narrow roads, double parking, blind bends. Clutch control was essential. Came over with own car, mindful of filters, had own parking clock. Not easy but doable.
If you can pass your test in Sheffield, you can drive in Guernsey!

When I flew first Time to Guernsey, in 1997, I landed in St Martin's and....this is a place I will never forget !
To see the Island sites here as clearly as in Real life is a fantastic pleasure !

Great video again! I noticed the fuel prices at Landes du Marche. Is diesel really £1.69 pence a litre? I thought Guernsey had cheaper fuel but we pay £1.47 in my area of Scotland. 😮

The garage next to where I am in Guernsey is
      Diesel: £1.74
      Petrol: £1.72
Edit - this is Landes du Marche garage left at traffic lights you are referring to RH Gaudion & Sons with the big sign

Memory Lane ... Greenacres used to belong to my Guernsey side of the family till the early 70s (1970s) and I spent a few years in the Maytrees, Hauteville, which belonged to my mother in the late 1960s/early 70s. First turm left was that narrow road down to Havelet. Will never forget.

One of the things that I absolutely love about Guernsey is - it hasnt changed in all the years! Well, it used to be a tourist destination and full of visitors in the summer season (till the 1970s, even early 80s), but otherwise ... all the same. The best place on earth if you dont loike changes, eh? 👍👍

MOT's are going to be introduced, I heard.
2028 for Jersey and as soon as practical for Guernsey.
Yeah, the sighns are lacking. Not hard to find yourself heading the wrong way down a one-way lane. It's something the States needs to spend money on.
