- This 2 night trip turned out to be a wildlife extravaganza. The elk were active, and I had some very close encounters with an antelope, prairie dogs, and a lot of bison. This will be one of my more memorable trips!

Getting emotional in nature is totally normal for me…it’s beauty that just takes your breath away🌲I just hiked Glacier NP for a week and it completely blew my mind…love all the animals!! Happy Hiking Buckley🌲
Glacier is on my list! I'm just a little scared of grizzlies for solo backpacking. Did you see any?
@@BackpackingwithBuckley Yes a Mama and cubs from the car and then a man had a spotting scope on The Highline Trail and I saw the bear from the trail it was moving up the mountain and that’s when I decided to turn around lol solo hiking is not recommended and I understand why…it was a great adventure and I’m planning my return for next year already…I only day hiked and stayed at a campground each night🌲
I love "think breaks"....it inspires some great wisdom and good medicine!
We all need a think break now and again!
Keep it going Buck . Love the humor and sarcasm . Bty you really capture the landscape. Ty
Much appreciated my friend!
Magnificent video!! The landscapes, narration and wildlife made this!! 🦑
Thanks Keith!
love to fall asleep to the elk bugeling. when I get out your way I'll bring the red cape!!!
Haha. Come out for a visit anytime brother!
Beautiful country and cool to see the wildlife.
I'm blessed to he here. Really pretty.
Think this was our favourite video of yours so far!
What amazing wildlife encounters, and such a stunning location. The black hills is on our bucket list of places to visit for sure. The antelope was so cool! It really is a humbling experience encountering wildlife up close. That bull bison was indeed a good boy 😂🦬🙌.
Thanks so much for sharing this adventure with us
All the best
Shell and Pete😊👊👍
It was a pretty epic adventure! It will be hard to top all the wildlife I got to see. Thanks Shell and Pete!
Miss you, Timmy!! This was great. 😂
Made my day!! But it made me sad too, oh, and I gen x'd with you at that exact moment on the video. The timing was perfect, lol.
Miss you back, brother. Next time, we will hit this spot.
The hills are alive...with the sound of Buckley. Makes me sad to see you tent in between those beautiful trees but we all must follow our own path. Oh, you didn't sleep well? Interesting.
I hear you on the grassland colors - they can sure be purdy in the fall. I'm going to give you a well earned Thumbs Up because this video definitely lived up to its name. Fantastic!
I now appreciate my hammock EVEN MORE, Seth. Nifty tent though!!
What an awesome adventure!
It was Doc. I love it out here in the fall. Perfect weather...
Man.. what an awesome trip brother! Not sleeping while I am camping is the norm for me lately.
Thanks for the video
Sleeping gets tough in a tent for me. I wake up all damn night.
you hike in the land of the large mammals, whilst I hike in the land of the large reptiles...lol.....what a beautiful place you walkabout!...love the rock formations in the background of your campsite!...like I said before the Black Hills are on my bucket list for the beauty and the Native American history as well!
It's truly an amazing place and I never get sick of it! Thanks Mike!
That southern hills, Custer state park area is really special:) great video
I agree. I love that area a lot!
It is always so great watching your videos. Great site for sure
Thanks for always watching Tressa!!
MAN, you are a bison magnet. Looked like a good time. I am hoping for 1 more trip this season. I am thinking out your way would be epic.
Make it happen bud! I'm staying around this winter.
Beautiful area brother!! Love seeing the antelope. That music reminds me of the movie Stepbrothers 😂. Loved that nighttime sounds. Awesome video brother
I love that song....even Will Ferrells version!
What an awesome trip. So cool to see all that wildlife. Dig the onehitter 😄
The one hitter is a timeless classic!
Wow that's really cool and awesome place to see my friend
Thanks pal!
Great video! Superb music choice, your narration and editing skills, NOT to mention your friggin bravery! Lol One of the best channels Ive found lately. And i follow lots of talented mens channels, Slim Potathead, Forresty Forrest, Sharing the Wild and many auditor channels too. Great videos!
You are so sweet. Thanks for all the kind comments!
Envidio la paz de tu nacion
Thanks!
Soundtrack courtesy of the Catalina Wine Mixer LOL. Wow I got to experience wildlife with you, get solid contact high, and watch you avoid a 1000 lb bus staring at you LOL
You know the wine mixer WAS the inspiration for using that song. Thanks Chris!
Love the Black Hills! Headed back up to the Centennial next week.
When do you arrive bud?
@@BackpackingwithBuckley We'll get to Bear Butte Saturday Sept 30, then shuttle to the Norbeck TH in Wind Cave and start hiking Sunday Oct 1.
I smoked for a duration of 37 years. After triple bypass I quit the habit. Good luck 2 you.
Thanks friend. I'm most concerned about quitting cigarettes.
Being that close to wild life is both frightening, and inspiring. One of those were your spirit animal you know that don't you?
Which one? The prairie dogs? Lol
In Florida the state allows cattle ranchers to have the cattle graze in state preserves the bull cattle I dont mind walking amongst but the momma cattle with babies make me nervous when I hike amonst them
Cattle can be crabby. I just get sketchy with the bull bison when they are alone and there are no trees to hide behind. Lol
What no Grizzly Bear encounter or samsquench vocalizations? Looked like a great time and you sure found what you were looking for.
No bears out here. Squatch...unknown. 🙂
Oh Elk!? Im jealous, I still haven't seen any out here in berta.
I didn't see any either but I have seen them there before. I sure had a couple of bulls close after dark though!
@@BackpackingwithBuckley The sounds from them are beautiful, I haven’t even heard them yet
Should I give away your location??? I know right where you are. I saw the stream disappear there when we hiked the Centennial again in late August. Probably so much wildfire because not many venture there.
Keep it our secret Lance! 😉
@@BackpackingwithBuckley your secret is safe with me. I’ve only ever hiked through there and never stayed over night. Lots of area to explore there! Still hoping to get to Badlands this late Fall. How late will you be there this season.
