The Galbaldy α uses the exact same beam rifle as the Gelgoog, so the Galbaldy β is just a EFF redesign of the Gelgoog's rifle. What you identified as ammo-packs on the shield are actually missile launchers, which might explain why we never see a Galbaldy β using a bazooka and thus why no bazooka is included with the kit.
Actually, the Galbaldy was a rejected design for whatever mass-production suit Zeon was going to first put beam weapons on - that ultimately went to the Gelgoog. The Federation managed to capture the original Galbaldy (the Galbaldy Alpha in this case) and then reworked it in its effort to make new mobile suits on the cheap. According to the box, the Galbaldy's design was solid enough that all the Feddies changed were the addition of a panoramic cockpit (first used on Gundam ALEX) and a slight reduction in weight. Its only major weakness is that its just made of titanium alloy rather than the Gundarium Gamma used on the Rick Dias or the titanium/ceramic composite used on the Gundam MK II and Hi-Zack.

after the One Year War Anaheim Electronics (the company that manufactures mobile suits for the EFSF) absorbed Zeonic ( the company that manufactures mobile suits for Zeon) which means Anaheim got all of the engineers from Zeonic. so if you've ever wondered why the Hi-Zack looks like a Zaku and why the Gabaldy looks like a Gelgoog that's the reason. from Zeta Gundam through Unicorn all of the mobile suits were manufactured by Anaheim.
I LOVE the Galbaldy Beta and I have been waiting patiently for Bandai to remember this suit. I was very let down when the Zeta movies came out and this big wave of Zeta-era kits were released but my Galbaldy went forgotten. I bought two of these HGs in hope to support the design and I hope that one day I can get a MG/RE to match the scale of the rest of my kits.

I don't buy many new kits. I have too many 1:144 no-grade to do before. But I have one revive (still to open) and a few recent hguc. The posability of this kit is amazing! I never saw a joint like that in the shoulder. And it has all elbows and knees with 180° rotation. Wow! This kit could be a parfect choice for a total "reshaping" Joshua Darrah style! Because the onyl problem I have with this kit is that I don't like it as it is oob. I really want to change the "round re button" in the chest. The "crown" on its head. The feet too old style. And several little things. But with that posability it could be an awesome custom kit!
Imagine this kit repainted in the gelgoog marine camo from mayfly of space... Pose it in formation with some similarly painted hguc gelgoog marines and it'd be a pretty cool what if scenario.

Terminus Hobbies depends what you are looking for. If you want value for money, most of the origin zakus have a lot of accessories, so they are better in that respect, but I'm pretty sure the galbaldy has (slightly) better mobility overall. They both have roughly equal color separation (if I remember correctly) so I'd say the zaku is a bit better (just because of the sheer amount of equipment some of them come with)
That green shield ..... why green?? Horrible color choice! The rest of the Mobile suit looks good, but now I’ve seen both these videos (the rebake also), think I like the rebake better, definitely like the rebake colors better
the 'opening cockpit hatch' thing is a throwback to the old 80's kit, to me it is a strange reference to include.
