Previously, you had to open the 'cap' and move the monoeye attachment yourself, or in some really old HG's, the monoeye sticker are one with it's black background (as it doesn't have separate monoeye parts, therefore you will have to choose from one of the three monoeye sticker that determines it's position.
Hey, Zach! Great review, love the MG and always wondered how the HGUC compared. The HGUC Sazabi is a fantastic kit for its age, the CCA HGUC Neo Zeon kits always stood out to me with their metallic-ish joint parts. Definitely worth looking at since you’ve done the Jagd and Geara Dogas.
Vust Valeo looking at Dalong it looks like like both kits have a double peg backpack. So I’m going to say yes for now, I’m fairly certain the spacing on the pegs should be the same. Hope this helps!
I had been wondering this for quite a while and the other day got my hands on a Geara Doga so was finally able to try this weapon/backpack swap. It works but there is a little issue. The pegs from the bruno gun backpack from the Angelo Sauper Geara Zulu are slightly smaller than the pegs on the Geara Doga's backpack. It means it is quite loose. If you glue it it should work well. I'm going to try using magnets so it can pop on and off. As for switching the Doga backpack onto the Zulu the pegs are tight but it works. I now wonder if the Doga packpack is the same size as the Zulu backpack. Having looked at both they look like the same design but since the Zulu is the slim younger brother of the Doga I could imagine that backpack could be a bit smaller. If I ever can get my hands on a Geara Zulu Guards type I'll have to update this unless someone else can check for me.
The HGUC Char's Counterattack model kits are really good. I hope Bandai can make option parts to give the joints better articulation, kinda like what they did for the HGUC Sinanju Stein.
Fr, they're really good looking kits and they've held better than some other hg lines. But yeah the articulation isnt the best, It's good enough for poses though
Damn, I like the rifle on the standard one better, but the Rezin Schnyder version has the beam saber...i also prefer the green to the blue. And I can't paint >_< Choices choices indeed.
@@spikesagitta Oh I see, in Australia they're pretty expensive as well. but to answer your question, I would go for Green, cause personally I rarely use beam sabers when I pose but for you, you might like Beam Sabers,.
I didn't think about white paint but you can just use primer and then paint to make the paint pop. I use white or a lite gray. I have also tried plasti dip recently and it works really good on plastic. I bought the liquid can that you paint on and it was a little hard to work with because it's thick but it shrinks as it dries and I liked the results. I had a little bit of red left over for a totally different project and I used it on 2 kits to test it out and I ended up using the rest of it on a few other kits. The only thing I don't like about the plasti dip can, it has a lid, similar to a pringles can and it will dry up pretty fast after opening. I wouldn't recommend buying a can for gunpla, unless you have alot of kits to do and you are going to use it all. It will peal off easily if you make a mistake and it is shiny, so that may be a problem. I am just going to use regular paint though, this was just something fun and different and I thought I would share it.
Double whammy! If you have the means the better option would be to get both I think. If you’re going to paint them the same color scheme then there’s no worries interchanging parts and accessories between the two.
Hg Sazabi is alright but Ive had issues with the legs falling off of their ball and sockets at the hips and the pegs for connecting the arms to the torso to be way too tight to put on and almost looking deformed right out of the box.
The biggest issue I have with this kit is the scale. The MG version is about as tall as the MG NU and Sazabi kits, so the the HG 1/144 should be a notch under 1/100 scale.
Honestly, I want two of these and two Jegans. The reason, is so I can make a battle scene with my MRG (Master Real Grade) Nu and Sazabi, and you gotta have 1/144 to match it so…
Hi Zak...Is this kit still good/worth for 2022? I really like HGUC design but my consider is about the price. Coz the old one like geara doga and the new HG sometimes have the same price. If geara doga is worth the money then i'll buy it, but if not maybe i'll buy another kit like HG aerial gundam and waiting for renewal HG geara doga - which i don't when TT. Thanks in advance :)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom is in development, as the story takes place probably 0093 or 0094, so HG Geara Doga and HG Jegan revive kits will likely happen. Nevertheless, this HG Geara Doga kit is good.
Im really impress of the inner frame mold, it look really2 great with like metallic grey, why latest kit doesn't has this kind of inner frame, bandai pleasee.
Between hg marasai, geara doga & geara zulu (guards type), which is more worthwhile to get, in terms of accessories, articulations, etc? Rank them from best to worst, please anyone...
Firstly I have yet to get a Marasai or a Geara Zulu Guards Type but I am quite familiar with the box contents of all three. The Marasai comes in two variants being the red Char's Counterattack one and the green Unicorn one. The CCA one only has beam sabers and an awkward looking SMG/Rifle thing. The Unicorn one has the same beam sabers and awkward SMG/Rifle thing and then a longer beam rifle that turns into a weird halberd and a grappling hook thing. I think of them both as being very basically equipped but personally I hate both gun type weapons the Marasais have and I dislike beam sabers. The Geara Doga is explained in this video but as quick breakdown is it has a decent rifle in the green version and a cool bullpup rifle in the blue version. It also has a shield and 4 panzer fausts and then while Zakuaurelius says the green one doesn't have the beam effects the green one I bought does so I believe they both have the beam axe. The Geara Zulu Guards type gets the coolest rifle of all MS kits I have seen then it gets a shield just like the Doga (The shield may be exactly the same but I can't be sure yet and it may be narrower since the Zulu is the Doga's slimmer brother.) stick type grenades, a beam axe, and the coolest panzer faust in all MS kits which is a lot like a Russian RPG. For me the personal ranking is Zulu first, Doga second, and Marasai third but I do have a variety of small and large biases in terms of these MS. That being said I think the Zulu objectively is better equipped and most people would say with cooler items.
Not sure why you would ever want to build the HGUC Sazabi when there is the RG Sazabi, which is one of the best Gunpla kits in existence (IMHO). It is literally better than the HG in EVERY way.
Has anyone tried to stick a "german" FZ Zaku head on this one, to represent a veteran pilot that customised his suit? Would that work? This one is a tad bigger, but I guess not that much to not make it work. Anyone?
Tried this out for you and it does fit but there is a problem. The Geara Doga head fits very flat to the neck joint while the connection for the Zaku 2 FZ head stick out downwards. This means that not only is the B type FZ head (That is the "german" style one.) taller than the Doga head it sits awkwardly high. It doesn't look super bad but if people look from the right couple of angles or closely they will see it. Modifying the ball joint socket to be higher could be possible but I imagine it could go wrong easy since you basically need to free up that ball joint socket from the inner part of the head then cut out enough space above where it normally is within the head then position it up in there again. An Alternative might be to build up around the neck joint but since that ball joint is on a moving neck piece you would have to purposefully lose that design feature. Also the Doga head is a fair bit wider than the FZ B-type head which makes sense since the Doga is an upscaled MS.
@Clément Arheu The Origin kits are also newer so comparing them to older kits isn't really fair. What Bandai really needs to do is stop pushing out their new show kits and re-model their older HGUC line up to the standards we have now. Like the Zaku III. That thing is hideously designed as a kit.
Hi, I'm not sure if you're still looking at this, but I'm having an issue with the arms on my GD. The forearms seem to come off a bit easier than they should. Any suggestions?

I have the HG Sazabi, it's a good kit. you've built the Jagd Doga and Geara Doga so you pretty much know what to expect from the Sazabi.
Best to paint those parts before assembly too. Hit them all with a white primer. They spray with a red or yellow. Super easy painting with spray cans.
