619 - HGUC Gouf Revive Version (OOB Review)

- Here's the High-Grade 1/144 scale Gouf Revive Version! The latest in the Revive line actually turns out to be the oldest! Well, about 85% of the kit anyway, as it's recycled from the 2014 release HG Gouf R35! Despite that, great kit!

Maybe someone else already brought it up, but the extra head pieces are actually from the Gouf R35, with the 'eye', pipes and antenna all being shared. I personally like the shorter snort R35 version. Options!!
I don't mind the lack of aerial posing too much, considering it is a ground type mobile suit, anyhow, but it's worth noting, certainly.
I just bought this kit yesterday, planning to paint it to metallic blue. hope it works well. =)
6 years later how is it?
It did annoy me a bit with it being a mostly recycled kit but, seeing it posed up, it doesn't bug me too much, really captures that look of the classic Gouf.
This really got me... it’s so anime accurate that I thought it was a robot damashii!
This thing is super rad, the shoulders have an excellent range of motion even by revive standards. Colors are on point and look great. It was a quick build, too. Looks sharp. My only complaint is the underside of the shield, which lacks detail, has a poor connection and the handle is kind of in the way. I like it more than my revive Zaku. It captures the menacing silhouette very well. Maybe some day I'll get the 2.0, but this scratched the itch for now.
I really like that chicken sound effect everytime you make mistakes. A really small bit, but really funny. As always, a great review.

In re-watching the original series, they are referred to as a Gouf Troop.
It looks like you could make a Gouf similar to the Visch Donahue version. Very nice and awesome vid! I may have to grab this as it's got extra pieces for me to possibly make my Gundam OC's Zaku I type! :D

If you mod the gouf revive we could have a Zaku revive 5 years earlier
Pity about those seams on the shoulder armour and the limited side skirt mobility. But hey, Bandai make em easy enough to fix and mod so theres something extra to look forward to. Really happy they packed in 2 heat swords, getting ideas for an Efreet Gouf thing.

My biggest problem with the gouf is that it's blue. The standard production model shouldn't be blue because it was established that blue was Rumble Rawls custom unit color. I feel like the general production series should be a different color than Rumba rolls signature color

Same thing applies for the Doms/Rick-Doms, who were all in Black tri-stars colors; perhaps Zeon intended to honor their original pilots by carrying forward said color schemes?

I had hoped this would have the same color scheme as the gouf custom from 8th ms team. Theirs just too much blue
I know it's probably better but how does this compare to '10's Gouf Custom?
This gets my hopes up for a revive gouf flight type. Sadly it will probably be a p-bandai. I guess I can settle on getting a revive zaku instead.

the existing HGUC Gouf Custom is good enough that it doesn't really need revive treatment.

This kit was 1500¥?! Its like 900¥ now on hobbylink
No matter theyre tubes on the legs or not
The legs never get over 120 degree
And i fpund that theres no sticker in the box and they tell me to put stickers on the eye
The worst thing is the skirt
Side skirt and front usually come off and waste that 90 degree front kick
Is even worst than the normal Zaku
IDK is probably something wrong with my Gouf
But it looks really good

Would you recommend the Revive Gouf or the Gouf Custom? I feel like the Gouf Custom looks cooler, but is it dated?
Got a life the Revive will definitely be better in terms of articulation, but I agree the Custom has a more badass look!

maybe you just didn't notice it in the instructions but you can have it hold one of the swords in the gun hand. they had to include two swords because they aren't symmetric. www.dalong.net/review/hg/h196/p/h196_m0004.JPG

yeah you don't usually see it doing that in the anime but it's nice they included that option. they could always have not included the weapon holding gunhand.
