Has anyone ever noticed how similar Twogar and F-14's cockpit and nose are?
These flew out of Kingsville, Texas onto the Lexington when I was on her, April 61 thru Aug 65.
I was born in Kingsville TX in March 1964 and remember seeing them fly when I was young, but then they transitioned to the TA-4 & T-2. I think NASK flew the F-11 for a short time.
I was sending f9f out of Kingsville at VT-21 62 to 65, that was a fun plane to fly.
VT-26 NAS Chase Field Beeville Texas was the last squadron to fly TF9J as student trainers while I was stationed there '68-'71. Did carrier quals off the Lexington (and others) and bombing runs in El Centro Calif, plus solo cross country runs, as part of student completion of advanced jet training before getting their eventual squadrons.
Got to love the pink jeep ;-) Should have been standard issue ;-)

NAS Lakehurst, I would guess. The terrain would make it seem so, as would the hangars.

I did not think you where suppose to spray water on hot brakes.
If you don’t want a fire you have to. No big deal. Just need to change out the brakes and wheels.
